I'm guessing here, but using a family last name as a middle or second name such as Spencer which as we know was Diana's family name is not uncommon. My mother's middle name was a family last name, her family is from North Carolina.

Bingo!

I'm in the South too, and family names used as given names is distinctly American, mostly Southern. It's very uncommon in Britain and unheard of in the BRF.

Victoria Elizabeth Diana Caroline
Diana Elizabeth Caroline Charlotte
Caroline Elizabeth Diana Charlotte

I'd absolutely loved to see -
Alice Elizabeth Margaret Rose
Grace Catherine Elizabeth Frances
Theresa Mary Elizabeth Catherine

Other modern names -
Olivia, Lauren, Alexis, Alyssa, Ashley, Isabella, Gabrielle, Emmeline

Names I've a hard time seeing -
Alexandra, Augusta, Helena, Victoria (yes), Marie, Beatrice, Eugenie, Louise (existing)

Interesting names -
Maud, Sybil (Sibylla), Caroline Matilda, Amelia, Adelaide (not British)

I think that William and Catherine are going to have a girl. Regarding it's names, I can imagine that Victoria, Elizabeth, Mary, Caroline (as a middle name) and Diana (as a middle name) will be in there somewhere. I'd also like to see names like Sophia, Charlotte, Adelaide, Amelia and Rose feature as well, I think they're very pretty.

It would be funny if she had twin boys, that would really buck the conventional wisdom. :P

A prince in the oven

MartinaM 05-04-2013 12:36 PM

a healthy baby boy!

Don't think Kate is going to have twins. If she does, that will be a real surprise. I think she will have a girl.

She's not having twins, the announcement was for a 'baby' not 'babies'.

Dman 05-04-2013 03:48 PM

I think it's gonna be a baby.

Has anybody in the British Royal Family (or even in any other Europe Royal Family) ever given birth to twins especially one that was a Heir?

Skippyboo 05-04-2013 03:56 PM

William and Kate's first baby is already here . He is a boy with black hair and is named Lupo. :)

No twin heirs I'm afraid but a fair few twin royals. A list can be found in Wikipedia; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_twins

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do not know the gender, and William will take 2 weeks paternity leave.

A girl seems to be winning at the moment. As long, as the baby is healthy to me it makes no difference.

cruisemama98 06-30-2013 08:29 AM

I'm hoping for a girl but am afraid it will be a boy. The Queen already has two great granddaughters so she is due for a great grandson, don't you think? The Prince of Wales (while we know he loves his boys) supposedly was hoping his second child would be a girl so a granddaughter for him would be very nice.

Catharina 07-02-2013 09:02 PM

A boy. Everybody's waiting but I say if it isn't out by this weekend, it might even come slightly late around 15th.

biru 07-02-2013 09:26 PM

vote for healthy baby, but I really hope it's a girl :D
