WOW, P Letizia looks great!!!

AnaC 10-21-2011 05:51 PM

I loved the dress in motion on TV. It looses a bit of charm in the photos to me, but the Princess still looks very sophisticated.

Emmily 10-21-2011 06:33 PM

She looks spectacular! Don't know what happened over the summer holiday to make her step her game up again, but she looks amazing.

I was thinking the same thing Emmily ;)

Absolutely stunning! I love her hair, and the dress was perfect for her. all around.

Duke of Marmalade 10-22-2011 05:20 AM

I agree that something has happened in terms of the family deciding to step up on their professional public image and it shows on Letizia for the so much better.

While I like the style of the dress in general (similar to last year) I think it is badly tailored and in an unflattering colour, the lace is hanging off Letizia's upper body and the grey flower details look odd, from far it reminded me of mud spots. I dont get why the dress needs a skinny belt in addition to the busy pattern.

https://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/...0WcDz/x610.jpg

Its great to see her hair up and her wedding earrings back, but the hairdo makes her look pretty old with a frozen face.
https://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/...Bael0/610x.jpg

Despite Letizia's dressing lows of the past years, she usually sparkelled at the PoA Awards, her prestige event. I thought last years look was much better, dramatic but youthful.

Well Duke, I have the feeling the frozen face is because she doesnīt quite feel herself with this hairstyle - it looked like she didnīt dare to move her head...
or maybe a doctor helped with the cheeks?

concerning the dress I have to say I liked it very much - especially when I saw it on TV - it was much better in movement as somebody already quoted, I think this fit - not too tight - is wanted, and thats why there is a belt which I liked very much.

This time she dressed and styled herself her age and you argue she doesn t look youthful enough - the other times she styles herself youthful and you criticize

Just curious - which age level are you - so I can see why you argue the way you do?

agami.pearl 10-22-2011 08:04 AM

She looked amazing. Dress is fantastic for her, I love the color, cut and details. Hairstyle is maybe too 'big' for Letizia, but I don't care, she's gloving.

mrswhitham 10-22-2011 09:02 AM

Will someone please tell her how nice she looks without her hair parted in the middle!

Boris 10-22-2011 09:56 AM

IMO her outfits have improved considerably over the past few months, away from the overly casual and cheap-looking stuff which bordered on the inappropriate, and towards a far more elegant and professional look (again). It was about time.

I like the overall look here including the updo, the dress is beautiful and IMO not meant to cling tightly, but the color is a disappointment.
There's something very 'Old Lady' about the muted dusty shade, while it would have been far nicer and more flattering for Letizia in a stronger and warmer or even a light pastel shade.

biboquinhas 10-22-2011 10:05 AM

I loce the dress very it fits perfectly her body, I love the hairdo...

dazzling 10-22-2011 10:07 AM

I really liked the dress, the fit and the style but the only downside of the dress is the color which ages her IMO and is unflattering. The shoes could've been the same or similar shade of the dress. I really liked her hair style, elegant but nothing new IMO.

hrhNJ 10-22-2011 03:04 PM

Any word on the designer? Kind of looks a bit like Valentino.

Itīs from Felipe Varela, as is the clutch. The shoes are from Magrit.

Vesper1987 10-22-2011 05:54 PM

I think Letizia looks amazing, I love the dress it looks so beautiful in motion. I would have perfered black shoes but it seems like everyone is obsessed with nude shoes.

suztav 10-22-2011 06:10 PM

Her hair style is stunning and the best I've ever seen her wear.

princess gertrude 10-22-2011 10:17 PM

The dress is stunning. And her makeup and hair look beautiful. Maybe the "old" Letizia has returned. The only thing that I don't really like are the shoes. But other than that -- wonderful!

salma 10-23-2011 05:13 AM

The dress is beautiful and perfect for the event. The hairdo is nice.

IloveCP 10-23-2011 05:19 AM

Marika86 10-23-2011 07:13 AM

Letizia was really elegant! The dress is really lovely, nice style!! The hair up are very good on her. Finally a gorgeous outfit for her!

Princess Letizia Wears Sheer Dress To Prince of Asturias Awards (PHOTOS)

I think Letizia his a homerun with this outfit. She looked very elegant and every inch the princess that she is. She's looking a lot happier too. I've noticed she's smiling more these days.

NoorMeansLight 10-24-2011 09:21 AM

I like the see-through dress but not on Letizia. I'm sorry to say this, she should never let her arms-shoulders-cleavage uncovered (for obvious reasons). :ermm: But I loved this updo and make-up so much - she looked ravishing!

donnaK 10-24-2011 01:46 PM

I think this sheer sleeves dress is just about right, looks very delicate on her. She is naturally petite, not particularly skinny (ex. her bikini pictures), sometimes fully cover up clothes with the structured/stiff tailoring from Varela makes her looks very skinny.

The dress is gorgeous, I love the colours, it has fire. Itīs not too short either.

Vesper1987 11-03-2011 02:06 AM

Love everything about this look at the award ceremony, I usually perfer long hair on Letizia but I am really loving it at this length. She has been looking really amazing these past few weeks.

Duke of Marmalade 11-03-2011 02:35 AM

While I thought Letizia looked great at the last couple of evening outings, this one is a fallback in old times with too short cheap dresses and ugly platform sandals.

IMO the dress has bad quality with ugly design (is her belly on fire?). We all know that Letizia can look stunning but yesterday is a disappointment.

I think once in a while she will disappoint us quite a bit like this dress.
I do agree that the dress is from bad quality, I also don't like the fir/orange print. Its not a dress that I would've expected Letizia to be caught in.

IloveCP 11-03-2011 03:32 AM

I am not a fan of the dress. It looks like she's bledding!

blujean 11-03-2011 04:05 AM

I'm not sure about this one; it looks like someone splashed paint on her mid section.

ANNIE_S 11-03-2011 05:06 AM

I think that the dress is gorgeous, but I donīt like the shoes, they donīt match. Plus, itīs a quite dark overall look, with the black tights...

Daisiesforever 11-03-2011 06:55 AM

It is indeed a "firey" dress and at a first glance a bit outrageous. However Letozia "pulls" it off just perfectly and brings an air of classic elegance to the entire look. She looks absolutely lovely next to a very proud Prince Felipe.

An Ard Ri 11-03-2011 07:07 AM

I don't like this dress, maybe someone should have told her Monday was Halloween night

Bine221 11-03-2011 07:26 AM

Haha, the contribution to Halloween is great!
I personally really like the dress, reminds me of the one from Michelle Obama at their inauguration, but Letizias is much better.

We do not know, "how" the dress code was exactly at the evening. Surely no High Level (Pure black tie), as Felipe is wearing a tie. So I think, the dress was absolutely appropriate. And I do not think, it looks cheap.

BYe Bine

Daria_S 11-03-2011 12:23 PM

Not liking the latest dress at all. Perhaps if it were in one color and a little longer, it would have looked better.

The make-up and hair are impeccable; the only minus is the odd pattern of the dress - makes me think of glowing flames... :ermm:

I do not like the dress. Very violent design. But her face is very beautiful.

MARG 11-06-2011 07:01 AM

Letizia's hair and make-up are perfect. (Did she have eyelash extensions?) The dress however, was an unfortunate choice at that event. She could have worn it to a private event, a party or a trip to the theatre, but not to somewhere she would have to stand up, the centre of attention, and be photographed!

Instead of looking at the people in the photos, the eye is drawn inexorably to the violent splash of colour that is Letizia midsection. Everything else fades away leaving a violent red splash! Even Letizia herself fades away . . . . Yet in those photos where we can't see the splash she looks fabulous.

The dress looks much better on Letizia than on the model in the picture on the webpage! Itīs really fresh and modern, the simple cut with that vibrant splash of colour is quite a change from her normal businesslike-minimalistic outfits that usually come with a lot of black or grey and I like it!
The dress may please or not please your eyes, but her make-up is really great-she looks absolutely fabulous, especially her eyes:wub:

Tilla 11-06-2011 01:39 PM

I agree so very much with you, lieber blauer Engel.
And Princess Diana once said to somebody (I read it) something in this sence: "Dress yourself as you please", and even an Italian proverb says: "Piacea a me, piacia a tutti" (sorry for my Italian errors).

blauerengel 11-06-2011 01:59 PM

We always say something like "Dress as you feel like"- judging the lively red colour we can assume that Letizia is having a good time :-)

Daisiesforever 11-08-2011 03:49 AM

Her hair and make up was really lovely. However I am not so certain about the dress. If the shade was not black, it would almost resemble a party dress for a young girl. Not a good design for Letizia this time.

Letizia has been pulling her hair back for galas latterly and that's very nice- it makes a her face gleam. Besides, she must have tried for a good stylist&hairdresser. The effects are impressive.

tlklhm 11-08-2011 04:49 PM

I like this black dress - the sleeves cover up her painfully thin upper arms and the round bottom skirt gave her some volume.

LadyGabrielle 11-08-2011 05:04 PM

I have to say that both dresses are NOT flattering at all. The one with red is too busy and the black dress is like an umbrella. Not good taste in my opinion. She could have done way better than that. A little embarrassing.

I guess thats because Letizia added a belt that makes the skirt look quite bulky.
https://images.mujerdeelite.com/galer...5_nt_xxl_3.jpg
I prefer the "original" version of the dress at the PoA awards last year without the belt, the dress had a more natural flow.

Baroness of Books 11-10-2011 10:02 AM

:previous:I prefer that "original" version as well; the dress flows better around Leti's figure without the belt and has less of that bell shape.

Emmily 11-10-2011 12:15 PM

I prefer the original version as well, but it's such a beautiful dress. I'm so glad she pulled it out again. Has to be one of my favorites.

I'm in the 'no belt' camp. The dress has a nicer flow to it.

udyusa 11-10-2011 03:45 PM

I prefer the 'no belt' look as well. It has a much more natural appearance.. not so stiff. It is still a very pretty, feminine dress on Letizia.

Everything about this look is absolutely lovely. I do love the elegant way in which her hair has been styled. The skirt is bold yet chic and works extremely well with the black blouse. Overall Princess Letizia looks simply gorgeous.

Honesty, I was waiting for long dresses. Anyway she looks good and really happy. I love the skirt. Has anyone old pic of Letizia in this piece? I would be grateful :flowers:
Top is not my favorite, indeed shows her skinny arm, but with shawl looks ok. I like hairstyle and jewelery.

I am not a fan of the skirt&top. But she looks ok. This hair style really suits Letizia.
