The whole face looks very artificial, the lipstick is too much.

princess gertrude 08-31-2011 09:02 PM

I love the facinator, but that's about it. The coat is boxy and ill fitting, and her makeup is way overdone. She is naturally beautiful, she definately didn't need that much.

I really like the make up but the the lipstick was all wrong. I think this was professionally done and I think the heavy make up was a lovely change for once.
The overall map up look didn't go with MM's overall look.

auntie 09-01-2011 04:11 AM

I also think thelipstick was wrong, the rest of the makeup was gr8:flowers:

I think she looks fab loved her in the black head piece and also her evening out fit !

Daisiesforever 09-01-2011 07:48 AM

I agree. She looks absolutely and undoubtedly exquisite. I do love the cream "trench coat" style jacket and the contrast of the black feather fascinator. The entire look is flawless. Prince Haakon must have felt very proud of his wife indeed.

This I like. She is a naturally beautiful woman, she doesn't need the extra frill that some other princesses need.

Daisiesforever 09-15-2011 05:53 AM

Oh yes, Mette-Marit looks absolutely beautiful in her white suit. Her hair looks so lovely too. I do love the earings she has chosen. Very chic. Only thing that spoils the look is the green handbag. Not certain if that works too well. Otherwise lovely.

Molly2101 09-15-2011 06:42 AM

I agree Daisiesforever - I am not loving that green bag, but the white suit is lovely.

rominet09 09-15-2011 07:44 AM

I am very envious of this bag ! Lovely !

princess gertrude 09-15-2011 09:08 PM

I too love the green snakeskin bag with the white. I love a little pop of color! She looks great.

blujean 09-16-2011 10:16 PM

A pop of color is a good thing when you wear all white. Nicely done MM!

Katrianna 09-18-2011 12:32 AM

I like her suit and the contrast of the green bag.:flowers:

Dierna23 09-18-2011 03:33 AM

Lovely, elegant outfit. I too like the bag, I'm usually not a fan of reptile style, but this one looks great. Wouldn't mind to own it. :D

NoorMeansLight 09-19-2011 06:42 AM

I absolutely adore the white suit with the green clutch - well done! White suits her so much, hopefully she won't go back to total black ever again!

It would have looked better without the skirt.

PrincessApple 10-10-2011 08:08 PM

This was a not a good look - at least to my eyes! I agree that the top and bottom halves look mismatched, but even if they were not paired I'm not sure I would be totally sold...

Dierna23 10-11-2011 12:59 AM

That look is sadly totally mismatched, a mess. Skirt, tights and shoes look as if they had nothing to do with coat, blouse and vest (right word?). I like almost all parts of this outfit separately, though. These shoes!

fairy tale 10-11-2011 05:45 AM

LadyS 10-11-2011 06:07 AM

I don't usually comment on fashion choices but that outfit is just horrid. Separately the pieces are nice but put together it looks like Mette-Marit just grabbed the first thing from her wardrobe and didn't check if they matched or even went together (IMO obviously)

rominet09 10-11-2011 07:36 AM

I am surprised, it is not her usual style but I like it !

Naggi 10-11-2011 08:00 AM

I am a huge Mette-Marit fan...but this outfit.... :-(

Duke of Marmalade 10-11-2011 08:20 AM

Is MM wearing Sonja's tights??? How would you come with up with the idea of wearing a red/black skirt and purple tights???

The skirt is ok, although a bit matronly, but the rest should have been all black.

Duke of Marmalade 10-11-2011 02:54 PM

Strange style - black & white with dark purple skirt?

The Louboutins look so out of place with such an odd outfit, they look good with a stylish dress but not with this matronly mess.

fortimo 10-12-2011 03:23 AM

What is this schoolgirl-outfit?? And she has enough money to better to dress...

Google Fordt

All woman has interesting for clothes and shoes and try to dress good, and MM said in many interwievs, that she follow the mode. But I don't think, that theese outfits fashionable are.
And if we see Kate Middleton, than we know, that style hasn't cost so much money...

Actually it's quite fashionable, old schoolgirl style. But it doesn't mean that anyone can wear it. Top part of MM's outfit is ok, bottom - too much colors.

Especially her McQueen's outfits :whistling:

NoorMeansLight 10-13-2011 08:22 AM

It's way too casual, besides I don't like any of the pieces.

I do believe the tights are black. Every monitor shows color differently, so it is rare that we get true color/hue/shade.

Nothing, IMO, wrong with the outfit, but for younger people it my be too conservative. To me, she looked clean and fresh.

I agree that another type of shoe would have been better.

IloveCP 10-13-2011 11:58 AM

I think that's the same shirt she wore to Sverre's first day of school.

blujean 10-13-2011 10:30 PM

Purple tights with a red & black (or is it blue?) skirt; what was she thinking?
The next black & white outfit is better but not much.

The red dress is absolutely perfect and perfect for her. I don't understand the "white" suit. The top looks like an ivory brocade, the skirt looks white. I don't really like the boxy white top, looks too maternity for me.

Not a fan of the casual outfit - her hairstyle looks too sloppy and there are too many styles and colors going on, but this happens rarely with MM, IMO.

Second outfit looks nice - I like the color of the top, nice hairstyle, seems to be a nice necklace as well and the booties add some pizazz.

blujean 12-06-2011 08:08 PM

I didn't care for the casual outfit either. Sorry to say but it looked kind of sloppy which is unlike MM.

The dress is wonderful - very lovely Valentino.
The coat is nice, red is her color and the cut is great for Mette-Marit (as far as I remember she has a jacket with the same cut).
The headpiece is controversial, but I like it, looks cute.

Just love the lip steak color!

ANNIE_S 12-11-2011 06:57 AM

I think the headpiece is the part I like the most. Its odd-looking, but looks lovely on MM head. I think the whole look would be too plain without it, the white dress is cute but quite boring. I think that the headpiece and the red coat (gorgeous!) are a great match to the simple dress.

agami.pearl 12-11-2011 07:08 AM

Love it, simple, elegant, very 'Nordic'. hairpiece is different but interesting.

dazzling 12-11-2011 10:41 AM

Such a lovely dress on MM. I also liked her make up but not sure about the headpiece. Overall she looked very nice.

Duke of Marmalade 12-12-2011 04:39 AM

As much as I hated both evening outfits, I love both daytime outfits. The white suit is fab, also like the headpiece.

The red outfit isnt spectacular but still very classic & elegant, love the coat.

Smush 12-12-2011 10:54 AM

Sorry, but I don't like the dress. The neckline is too boring.
And her hair or the headpiecs looks terrible.
But at least with the coat she brings in some colour!

The Valentino dress is great, once again! I like the whole outfit, that red coat is so pretty as well and it's a great and classic combo - black, white, red. I'm not fascinated by the headpiece, though. Looks a tad too "halloween-ish" to me. ;) But at least it's not boring. MM seems to have lost a few kilos, she looks healthy, attractive and fit!

blujean 12-12-2011 08:14 PM
