They look lovely but the hats are weird.

agami.pearl 01-09-2011 06:39 AM

She looks nice, I only don't like the pockets in the coat. The hat is nice, typical style for Bea. I adore the clutch.

I don't like the coat, but I love the hat. :flowers:

Dierna23 01-09-2011 07:32 AM

This kind of coats seem to be her new style, I don't like it and I don't think it is flattering for her to wear hats/fascinators on the forehead. Sorry!

Patra 01-09-2011 08:52 AM

I personally love their quirky coat fashions, and always look forward to see what they'll come up with next!

No for the coat and no for the hat. The coat looks too big and it's just hanging on her. The colour is also not good.

lyndell75 01-09-2011 02:25 PM

Again, Princess Beatrice loses me with her fasinators....too much

udyusa 01-09-2011 02:48 PM

The fascinators just look silly on her. I agree that the coat looks too big, and I am wondering what she has in her pocket for it to be bulging like that?? Not a smart look on her.

Iluvbertie 01-09-2011 03:06 PM

I love the fascinators. They are fabulous. They also allow her to show off one of her best features - her hair.

The coat looks fine to me and the bulge - well it could be anything. It isn't important.

Possibily knuckledusters for any paparazzi that get in her face.

Perhaps she purchased the coat before she lost all the weight. It does seem a bit baggy on her.

That would make sense. She might also be in the frame of mind to still "hide" her body or conceal her weight which would account for the baggy coat as well.

MARG 01-09-2011 10:38 PM

:previous: Or it could just be that it is in fashion at the moment. :flowers:

roseroyal 01-09-2011 11:53 PM

Thumbs down.

NoorMeansLight 01-10-2011 09:12 AM

Very odd and miserable look and these huge pockets...:ermm: I agree, the fascinator looks just silly. I only like the shoes, she always wears elegant heels.

dianahayden 01-11-2011 12:28 AM

Bright blue jacket with black skirt is looking very beautiful.

NoorMeansLight 01-11-2011 01:48 PM

Beatrice has become so slender and fit, she should always wear bikinis!! I'd also like to thank Dbarn67 for introducing this blog to us - it seems very informative! :flowers:

Wow, an outfit on Bea that I like! Will wonders never cease?!

QEII 01-26-2011 08:04 PM

I love the color of the jacket especially with her skin tone and hair color

CrownPrincess5 01-27-2011 11:48 AM

The jacket is nice and a good color for her too.

Dierna23 01-27-2011 12:22 PM

Hm... I don't know but something is off here. I like the jacket separately, not sure if it's the best color for her though it looks nice. However, overall she looked nice!

Like the jacket except for the shoulders part. Not sure about the combination with the dress, would look way better with pants or jeans. Also, not the best colour for her.

NoorMeansLight 01-27-2011 03:32 PM

That's a very fresh look. I agree, the jacket is very fashionable and makes the whole outfit more special. Thumbs up!

MARG 01-27-2011 07:26 PM

She really has come a long way. We have, with varying degrees of kindness, watched her stumble through her "baby fat" years. Winced at her first outrageous forays into "fashion" and judged her as unkindly as we we would a woman twice her age. :bang:

That she has emerged as a well rounded happy young woman is fabulous. She looks good and she deserves the kudos. She earned them in the school of hard knocks!

Very well said, we(myself included)have judged her like she was a fashion model instead of a young woman navigating todays crazy fashion within royal constraints, I looked back at some of my own pictures when I was her age and all I can say is YIKES!! Im glad no one ever has to see my bad choices. God Bless her for continuing to step out&smile no matter what is said about her.

rsfc149 01-28-2011 07:17 AM

I think Beatrice is wearing pretty nice outfits lately. Her style has changed, and definitely to the better.

Princess Beatrice's fashion last week. Liking the colors she's been adding .... Did the Princesses wear a lot of Issa's designs before we heard about the designer after Kate wore it?

Princess Eugenie's outfits

I like both Easter outfits, although Eugenie's looks too tight; it would be better in a larger size.

Dierna23 04-24-2011 10:06 AM

I quite like both outfits, too. Beatrice is doing better and better IMO. Eugenie's outfit is a tad too tight for her and I wish she would change her hairstyle, she reminds me of Monica Lewinsky. Nice to see them in neutral colors for a change.

Lovely outfit! She is getting much better everytime I see her, really growing into her style

roseroyal 04-24-2011 01:37 PM

I love both outfits!

Empress Merel 04-24-2011 04:54 PM

I like Beatrice outfit more. It has slightly more egde whereas Eugenie's more matronly.

dbarn67 04-24-2011 06:33 PM

I like both outifits. Both young women are maturing in their styles.

charlottestreasures 04-24-2011 06:43 PM

I tought Beatrice looked lovely, Eugenie's looked a little too tight.

dazzling 04-25-2011 01:58 AM

I loved their hats at the mass, very pretty & they did wear them well. Eugenie's outfit looked a size too tight but it was a nice combination of the jacket & dress.

rsfc149 04-25-2011 02:00 AM

I like both outfits. I prefer Beatrice's one and Eugenie's hat but both still did a good job in my opinion.

alex001 04-25-2011 01:09 PM

I'm not sure if these are just similar dresses but was Eugenie wearing the dress Beatrice wore at Ascot in 2008 at the Easter service?

(https://cache4.asset-cache.net/xc/113...35126C47CF3406 vs https://www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/R...NpSIY_TIhl.jpg & https://www.marieclaire.co.uk/imageBa...efb496108d.jpg )

It appears to be the same length and have the same slit at the top..maybe that could explain why it didn't fit Eugenie so well, being originally bought for Beatrice...or maybe I'm just barking up the wrong tree! :whistling:

udyusa 04-25-2011 01:18 PM

I think you are right on! Great eye, as well. It certainly would explain why the dress is too tight on Eugenie. Bea borrowed Eugenie's hat, so it's fitting that the sisters share. :)

roseroyal 04-25-2011 02:16 PM

I thought that E's dress looked familiar...;)

NoorMeansLight 04-25-2011 05:03 PM

Well it would be nice if the two sisters exchanged clothes. I liked both outfits, but Beatrice's much more than Eugenie's. That chocolate brown suit was fantastic and quite unique!! She could have matched it with more elegant pumps though, don't you think?! ;)

sesa 04-25-2011 07:05 PM

Princess Bea has really lost a lot of weight and looks wonderful. This dress would have looked horrible on her before, but it looks good now, It would have looked better had she had it tailored to her shape. But I guess with the way these girls dress, they don't have tailors in England! hee hee!
her sister is actually begining to look frumpy next to her now! That's a change! But then, that is my opinion.

Opal 04-25-2011 08:03 PM

I think both girls look fantastic. Beatrice's legs are gorgeous.
I can't wait to see what they wear at the wedding.

4Pam 04-25-2011 11:57 PM

Both girls really look beautiful. I love seeing their fashion tastes evolve.

agami.pearl 04-26-2011 10:07 AM

I like Beatrice's outfit a lot. She lost some weight, now she is definitely enjoying her new body and new wardrobe.
Eugenie comparing to her sister looks more mature but I like her accessories more than Bea's.
Both look really good. I can't wait to Friday.

roseroyal 04-26-2011 11:48 AM

I just hope Bea does not wear her " butterfly creation" to the wedding! And no other of her" interesting" hats! Same goes for her sister!

4Pam 04-27-2011 01:08 AM

but I love the interesting hats that the York Princesses wear! It adds character to everything

I really like the white outfill of princess Eugenie. She looks great.

Penny Royalty 04-27-2011 03:39 AM

You are right Eugenie does carry herself off in the nice white and pink. I think their hats always symbolize the exotic or prim or decorous. I especially liked the Countess of Wessex's hat as it was other Worldly. Both Eugenie and Beatrice look very beautiful. They leave me spell bound and enchanted. They are like goddesses in the making. So unique their endowments by faith.

Beatrice looked awful at wedding today

tihkon2 04-29-2011 09:17 AM

I think Eugenie's outfit looks like a drag queen's, whilst her sister Beatrice's eye make-up and hat looks like a drag queen's.

maria-olivia 04-29-2011 09:20 AM

A friend of mine said : the two Cinderella half-sisters !

abcdxyz 04-29-2011 09:31 AM

I'm sorry, but both of the York girls need a style makeover, IMO. Can we get What Not to Wear in here to to help them out? Stacy and Clinton, where are you?

dazzling 04-29-2011 09:33 AM

Beatrice looked great in that Valentino coat & a matching dress underneath. The only thing ruined it was that hat which would work better at royal ascot.

tihkon2 04-29-2011 09:34 AM

I think the problem is that they both try so hard to look current and a bit edgy and instead they come off looking like fashion victims.

sugarbaby318 04-29-2011 09:36 AM

Wow is all I have to say. Those hats are intense. I am not a fan of Eugenie's outfit at all. Bea's is okay. But the hats are crazy. Beatrice sure does like to wear extravagant headwear. Remember the butterfly hat from Peter and Autumn's wedding??

soraya 04-29-2011 09:38 AM

Dazzling,I totally agree with you.Beatrice outfit looked great minus the hat which looks ridiculous.
Eugenie looks completly ridiculous.

azure 04-29-2011 09:44 AM

They look like they went to a costume party. The outfits were good, but the hats..

princess gertrude 04-29-2011 09:53 AM

Eugenie is a "hot MESS"! If this is Vivienne Westwood's idea of Catherine "catching up", then I'd prefer her not too! Beatrice's outfit was gorgeous, but the head piece was ridiculous.

spratsmum 04-29-2011 09:57 AM

HORRID yet again - too messy and the hats please too much

carinthia 04-29-2011 09:57 AM

the both york-girls are a one and only fashion-desaster

sliver_bic 04-29-2011 10:08 AM

I think Eugenie would've pulled it off if she had maintained a solid color. The same as the skirt and the hat, that top stands out waaay to much. And she looked so nice the night before.

marymary 04-29-2011 10:09 AM

Beatrice looks beautiful in her lovely coat but I am not sure what to say about the hat.
Eugenie looks awful from head to feet. I am sorry.

bunnymegz 04-29-2011 10:38 AM

I loved both girls outfits but the choice of hats was not great.

Iluvbertie 04-29-2011 10:51 AM

I thought the dresses were great but the hats spoilt the look.

wynick 04-29-2011 11:20 AM

Oh my.....

Eugenie was dressed not for a wedding, but for Ascot, as others mentioned.....Beatrice's dress/coat were lovely.....The hat was straight out of Dr. Suess' "Go, Dog, Go".....which says it more accurately than I care to here....."Do you like my hat?" "No, I do not like that hat." and seating her directly behind the lovely Queen was not a good plan.....Ugh:bang:.....Literally the York sisters were the only downfall for me of the whole day.....except Camilla's outfit.....which was not very flattering for her.....Her hat made up for it though!!!

Not the best dressed of the day! They looked like they were trying to hard - at what I'm not sure.

Kastalia 04-29-2011 11:25 AM

Beatrice looked good IMO and to be honest she would look great in anything after her recent dramatic weight loss, she has finally shown how pretty she is.The hat was a bit extraordinary but not that bad.Loved her hair.
Eugenie was nicely dressed for her body shape and would look even better it had a solid color as some people already suggested.

LadyCat 04-29-2011 11:30 AM

Beatrice almost got it right - nice outfit - horrendous hat (is that a stylized bow or antlers?). Eugenie? Wrong on every level! When will these girls get a stylist? They try much to hard and end up being fashion victims every time. After all these years you'd think they would learn. I know they are still young but this is ridiculous! I really feel for them as the press always rips them to shreds for their fashion choices and that has got to hurt. Then again maybe they have thick skins and don't give two cents, three stamps and a postcard what anyone thinks of their dress sense (or lack of).

biboquinhas 04-29-2011 12:11 PM

Beatrice outfit looks very old to her...

Duke of Marmalade 04-29-2011 12:30 PM

Its like "what not to wear" :bang::bang::bang: how can one get it so wrong

https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/...58_310x558.jpg

While Eugenie is a complete desaster, Bea's coat is not bad but too old for her. The hat ... horrific :bang:

QUEENECE29 04-29-2011 12:39 PM

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie very interesting and unusual today. May have been more stylish. Beatrice, such as make-up horror movie. Cinderella's step-sisters are like.

That is exactly what my husband said when he saw them. "They look like Cinderella's stepsisters." They appear to be desperate for attention. It may be subconscious, but there is just no other explanation for those hats. It seems the apples have not fallen far from the tree. I suppose they could have negative fashion sense, and no one around them decent enough to give them an honest opinion.

Quathae 04-29-2011 07:53 PM

I thought both of these sisters could have done a lot better in terms of their fashion choices. While Beatrice's dress was ok (the tan one) I thought it was a bit boring for her age. I HATED her hat. It looked really stupid. Eugenie's outfit just was off in every way. I thought the colors were pretty, but the pattern on the top was too loud, and the fit of the top part too tight. Her skirt was too poofy and the asymmetrical hem was just sloppy looking in my opinion. I didn't care for her hat either.

I could have lived with it if it hadn't been to tight on top and had those bows on the front, holy unflattering

Quathae 04-29-2011 07:58 PM

I agree MRSJ. A less tight fit, no bows, and a more streamlined skirt and Beatrice's outfit would have been more flattering, IMO. And a different hat too.

PrincessKaimi 04-29-2011 08:10 PM

At first glance, they didn't look so out of place in the crowd. Then when the camera focused just on them, first of all, Eugenie just totally looked so garish (and unhappy really), especially the makeup, that one almost didn't notice B's hat!!

I really think an outside pov, as from a stylist or a good friend...or a mom with any eye for style must be lacking. I think it's sad, as the press really does make fun of them. Since I see them only rarely, I am left with the impression they are quite unattractive, to be fair, if someone can refer me to pics of them on a better days, that'd be great.

lxdavies 04-29-2011 08:26 PM

You almost wish that they become friends with Pippa and that Pippa says. "here's a full lenght mirror this is what you look like."
The middleton's have great style.

B. did look nice at the queens dinner the other day in the over the shoulder sparkly number

Mermaid1962 04-29-2011 08:47 PM

Except for the hat, I liked Princess Beatrice's ensemble. What bothered me was her eyes. She looked like she was either crying in the car or else slept in her eye-makeup. It must have been just too much eye-liner, but it made her eyes look rather hollow.:ermm:

Interestingly, the American press is saying that the sisters did this on purpose for paybacks against the royal family in not inviting their mother. While I doubt that is true, you have to wonder why they would spend so much money and work so hard to make themselves look a part of a freak show! I do think it would have been a nice gesture for William to invite Sarah Ferguson but I completely understand how her inexplicable behavior in the last several months may not have made that possible.

nascarlucy 04-29-2011 09:34 PM

Beatrice and Eugenie had too much makeup on (a little less would have been better) as this was very noticeable. The headpiece that Beatrice wore made me think of antlers or reindeer when I saw a clip from the back. It blocked her face somewhat and when you looked at her, this is what you noticed was her head piece (I wouldn't call it a hat, but a head piece).

I loved the color of Eugenie's dress and liked the hat she was wearing.

rmay286 04-30-2011 03:23 AM

I agree with the others here - Beatrice's outfit was quite nice except for the hat. What was she thinking with the hat?! There does seem to be a trend in Britain towards over-the-top, fussy fascinators and hats, but I just don't understand why Beatrice would have thought that hat looked good. Then again, she wore that butterfly hat to Peter and Autumn's wedding (I think it was Peter and Autumn's).

I didn't like Eugenie's outfit - too colourful and fussy - but I mostly don't like Eugenie's clothes. I don't think Beatrice, on the other hand, dresses as badly as the tabloids make out. Except for that hat!

nascarlucy 04-30-2011 07:30 AM

I saw another picture of Beatrice (closer look at the headpiece) and it made me also think of something a Las Vegas Show Girl would wear as part of her costume in a dance number. The headpiece that Beatrice wore would be fine in a fashion show, a costume party, or worn dancing or on stage but not at a church wedding. A little too over the top, I'm afraid.

She wasn't the only one who wore what I would call headpieces instead of a hat. Some of them would have been better off not wearing a hat at all. But tradition dictates that some type of hat or headpiece be worn.

Lenora 04-30-2011 08:03 AM

The hat of Beatrice was outrageous and tasteless,I think. She could have worn it at another event, but not for such an occasion for sure

Island Princess 04-30-2011 08:13 AM

I've read that both hats were Phillip Treacy - what was he thinking? Both outfits are not bad (and Valentino and Vivienne Westwood) but definitely needed a different millinery treatment.

teruterubouzu 04-30-2011 10:12 AM

I am in the minority, but I will admit that I quite like the outrageous hats they wore to the wedding. You can tell they have fun with fashion.

Has anyone found photos of them dressed for the evening reception?

The headpiece that Beatrice wore made me think that someone took a massive door knocker from a palace fortress door and asked her to wear it on her forehead. Unbelievably horrible choice in hat attire for a historic wedding. Perhaps this type of get-up would be OK for Ascot, but not for such an important wedding.

When Beatrice was seated behind the Queen in the cathedral, she tipped her head forward, looking down and her eye makeup became more noticeable because light was not on her face. She looked as if she had two enormous black eyes.

Eugenie- color of outfit good, but that is about all.
Beatrice- there are no words in the English language, what was she thinking?

I've heard B&E described as Cinderella's Ugly Stepsisters. They certainly are at the top of the running for worst dressed guests. B's downfall is the tonnage of eye make-up. She's such a pretty young thing - it's not necessary!
