Sarah, Duchess of York: "Cash for Access" - May 2010
Unfortunately, more trouble for Sarah.

News of the World: The Best for News, Showbiz and Sport Exclusives| News Of The World

the video clip is being showed on bbc breakfast news. She seems a bit drunk to me. Facial expression a bit like a clever farmer and i don't mean to insult farmers.

Sarah should have known better. NOTW has more articles online, and a video. (I see that Sarah is smoking again.)

The fall-out is going to be huge, and rightfully so. I can't say that I am really surprised by this, because Sarah tried to deal with her financial problems in the same way back in the early 90s.

The one thing that stood out to me, though, is that the NOTW articles repeatedly insist that Prince Andrew knew nothing about what Sarah was doing. How would the journalist know this for sure? My feeling is that Andrew is being set up in a way, too. If he wants to defend Sarah against the accusations that she lied and duped him, he'll have to say that he knew something about what went on. If he admits that, though, he'll probably lose his job as trade ambassador.

It's like the paper is challenging Andrew to defend Sarah, or choose his reputation over her. On another day, the papers might accuse Andrew of cashing in on his trade ambassador job by selling Sunninghill for more than the asking price, etc. But suddenly he is the prince with the spotless reputation who needs to be protected from Sarah, the "loose cannon"! I feel like News of the World had two victims here--Sarah, and Andrew by association with Sarah--but is putting on a great pretence of being concerned for Andrew and the monarchy.

Personally, I think Sarah may have not given Andrew all the facts, but I suspect he did know something about her interactions with the "businessman." I find it hard to believe that Sarah would tell a "businessman" that Andrew knew about the money if Andrew were completely in the dark. If this man were a real businessman and met with Andrew eventually, he could very well mention something to Andrew about the deal. Unless she never intended to let him meet with Andrew at all, which I think is what the NOTW is implying, but I also find that hard to believe, because Sarah must at least realize that people can and will take their story to the papers if they are promised something and don't get what they want.

I also am a little suspicious about this "close royal associate" who apparently went to the News of the World as a "whistleblower" because he or she was concerned that Andrew's reputation was being damaged. I'd think that someone who was really concerned about Andrew would talk to Buckingham Palace and let the Queen deal with Sarah. It's not like Andrew's reputation is going to benefit from a big tabloid expose about how his ex-wife is trading in on Andrew's business connections. It reminds me of how the royal courtiers in the early 1990s made sure the newspapers knew about Sarah's bad behaviour. Sarah has only herself to blame for this, but at the same time, I think there's more people who aren't exactly blameless here.

Duchess of York 'filmed offering access to Prince Andrew for 500,000' | Mail Online

She's made the top story, even bump the strike has been been put to aside.

Oh-my-god. Now, that's even tackier than I would have expected it...

I am amazed at how stupid she is on this occasion. It is completely unacceptable and I suspect it will be used by some people as a reason to force her further apart from the Royals. If that happens she has only herself to blame. She has been put up in Andrew's house because she can't afford her own and this is how she repays him, you would think she would have learnt from mistakes of the past and acted more discretely and more respectfully towards the Royals.

Lumutqueen 05-23-2010 06:01 AM

I'm glad she's done it, Andrew now might see how stupid his ex is and it will push her away from the royals.
I know she is the moter of Beatrice and Eugenie, not saying she should't see them. But i don't understand why she is still close to the royals after everything she has done to the family.

She has lived a life of shameless luxury and it's still not enough ... give me more more more!

True what one of the Queen's aides said about her. VULGER VULGER VULGER

What surprises me is how inarticulate she is. She doesn't seem to be able to speak in a clear and cogent way. Her speech is full of hesitation and fragments of thoughts, all poorly expressed.

Hendrik-Jan77 05-23-2010 07:14 AM

Stupid woman. I always disliked her. She has brought so much shame on the Queen, the Royal Family and the Monarchy.
She does it time and again. This time the consequences must be severe.
I wish she has to go on trial, but that won't happen I'm afraid.
I do hope she will lose the title Duchess of York this time. She shouldn't be allowed to carry it anymore, she doesn't deserve it.
Furthermore, I hope they will force her to go in exile.
Personally I hope she will take those two daughters of hers with her.
On another note; I hope that when Prince Charles becomes King, he will downsize the Royal Family and finally get rid off the Yorks. Beatrice and Eugenie should be downgraded to Ladies Windsor (like the Gloucester daughters) and be forced to make a living of their own.
But that is just my personal opinion...:flowers:

I dread to think what kind of statement she may issue - she should put up & shut up having being caught out.

rominet09 05-23-2010 07:51 AM

Shame shame shame !

laduchesse 05-23-2010 07:58 AM

This behavior is very disgraceful and she should be stripped of her Duchess of York title and booted out of the Duke's house. I can't believe she would stoop to such behavior. And I can't believe the comment about being supported by her daughter's trust money. Sarah has gaffed big time and the Royal Family needs to cut some strings. I'm not suggesting the princesses avoid their mother, but they need to stop attending any public events with her, at least for a short while and Sarah needs to be living on her own, away from the Duke.

rominet09 05-23-2010 07:59 AM

I pity her daughters.... what a shame !

She doesn't have any title. Like the divorced wife of any peer she is able to use her formal title as a surname. She ceased to have a title the day she divorced Andrew.

The Royal Family cut strings with Sarah at the time of the divorce and she really only has regular contact with her daughters and her former husband. No one will stop that. Sure the Queen has had her at Balmoral once or twice since then and now that the girls are older they no longer see a need for her to stay on the Sanderingham estate at Christmas. Unless the Queen wishes to tell her 50 year old son who can stay in his home there isn't a lot the Queen can do.

Australian 05-23-2010 09:52 AM

Oh Fergie, silly woman. Oops, she's done it again.

sophie25 05-23-2010 10:04 AM

I think this is her lowest point ever, even more than when she was photographed sunbathing topless years ago. These images of her surrounded by bottles of wine, smoking a fag with bundles of cash she was getting for selling her (unsuspecting and trusting) ex-husband down the river is as squalid as it gets. There can be no way back for her now. Prince Philip must feel totally vindicated after all the criticism he got from some people for keeping her away from family occasions for all these years. He obviously knew her better than Prine Andrew did.

Maybe, but since Sarah has been fingered trying to peddle access it would be a good idea for Andrew to advise her to depart Royal Lodge. Permanently.

I really don't think it would be right for anyone to say that she has to stay away from the home of her daughters and that is Royal Lodge as well.
