I liked CP Mary's look. I agree with the outfit being too dark, but overall it fit her well and she looked very nice. The delicate thin belt was a nice touch to her coat. Just a side note, Prince Frederik's pants look like they are too long and need to be hemmed. They look a little sloppy to me, but that is just my opinion.

SarahAnne 03-10-2010 06:07 PM

I loved this outfit when she previously wore it in America (I think) and I love it now. I don't find it too dark at all - simply discrete and sophisticated. Mary has an alluring understated class.

dazzling 03-11-2010 05:57 AM

Loved the look, it was a bit dark but yet it is winter, I dont expect to see people dressing in spring or even summer colors yet.
I like the straight cut pants used, from a distance they look like really high boots.
The coat has always been one of my fav's.

dazzling 03-19-2010 03:58 PM

March 19, 2010 - Mary in a recycled brownish dress matched with a skinny belt and a necklace.

The overall look is quite pretty, simple & elegent. The color is really nice and does suit Mary well. The only thing is that she couldve worn a brighter outfit since this was a spring festivel, I think it wouldve been nicer for the event.

Lumutqueen 03-19-2010 04:05 PM

Lovely dress, Mary's gone for darker colours recently, something light tommorow would be nice.

Emmily 03-19-2010 05:44 PM

She looks lovely.

avrilo 03-19-2010 11:15 PM

Let's hope with the spring coming we see another palette of colors. She looks lovely. Always so polished

kathl29 03-20-2010 01:00 AM

Another nice elegant dress from Mary. Typical safe outfit for her but the colour looks nice and suits her skintone well.

NoorMeansLight 03-20-2010 08:51 AM

I liked this brown dress and all the accessories (belt, shoes, clutch). Very good choices!

carlota 03-20-2010 04:53 PM

i really like this dress. it looks to me very hugo boss.

She looks pretty and elegant in her brown/black dress and all of her accessories.

princess gertrude 03-21-2010 05:47 PM

The dress is lovely, but the whole look is rather boring. A brighter outfit would have been wonderful as Dazzling suggested.

greenways 03-21-2010 10:36 PM

Yes, agreed, a little spring brightness would have been nice. Knowing Mary, we won't need to wait long before we see a spring in her step... oh I mean in her outfits!!:flowers:

But that really is a wonderful brown, IMO. It looks warm and suits her complexion and hair color very well! She looked really classy and I love the necklace, belt and shoes. :flowers:

I think that the outfit is lovely, especially the beautiful hat.

Dierna23 04-08-2010 09:17 AM

Is it possible that this hat is a recycling?

Not so fond of the hats shape on her and overall she looked nice, but I'm unsure if I like this look in every particular.

rubies 04-08-2010 10:02 AM

I think this is just classic Mary, appropriate and elegant. The color is very nice on her, it still must be cold in Denmark!

dazzling 04-08-2010 11:33 AM

I really liked this look, the hat is beautfiul & it is one of her best hats The skirt is really pretty & she wore it better than the last time she wore it.

bertie5252003 04-08-2010 01:10 PM

I have never really liked that skirt I think it maybe the colour but do like the hat and am pleased to see her wearing it again ... yes how cold is it there will it ever warm up. Still ok look nothing amazingIMO

magnik 04-08-2010 01:13 PM

Little heavy I think.
I want to see her in some crazy outfit... Maybe platforms a la Letizia and outfit like Laurentien or Mabel:biggrin:

NoorMeansLight 04-08-2010 02:52 PM

I like the overall look and find it particularly chic! I even liked the hat.

Agreed. This is one of her better daytime outfit. Love the color. Is the skirt's pattern raised? If it is, then I really like how the hat and the skirt work together.;)

Emmily 04-08-2010 05:24 PM

She looks wonderful today. I love this skirt. When did she wear this previously?

Her_Majesty 04-08-2010 05:39 PM

:previous:She first wore it in January 2009 and later the year during a visit to Flensburg.

I think the hat is by Philip Treacy. It's quite old already, but I still like it.
I think she first wore it around 2005. She recycled it during a SV from Bulgaria and for the opening of the Parliament in 2008.

I like the hat, although, I like it better with her hair pulled back in a ponytail.

greenways 04-08-2010 07:28 PM

Like the colours, especially a zap of brightness with the maroon. Mary looks elegant and appropriate as usual, but not one of my favourite looks on her.

suzannep31 04-08-2010 09:34 PM

Very Chic and Classy !
I really like the way she recycles her clothes and make them look like new one. Very Smart ;) And do you see any changes in her hair style? I can not see it very clearly

OK This IMO is one of the best looks of all the princesses this year! I love it. Mary looks so beautiful. Hat has been worn a couple of times but I didn't notice till I really looked because of the gorgeous outfit and shoes!! A+!!

Quathae 04-09-2010 06:22 PM

I think Mary's brown dress was very chic and elegant. Simple, refined, sophisticated. I really liked the maroon and grey outfit. Loved the hat! The last outfit was really beautiful. I loved the navy?black? coat with the beautiful hat and the champagne blouse, skirt, shoes, and clutch. Fabulous looks for Mary - all of them!

Is it the same top she wore a few times before? In the US and on the balcony with the whole RF at the Queen's birthday last year?

No, I thought it was the top underneath the jacket that she wore before in the US and on the balcony of Amalienborg but I was wrong. Today she wore a different cream top and skirt.

Boris 04-10-2010 07:27 AM

A very beautiful outfit for Mary - classy, elegant and with just the right touch of formal royal dressing.
The contrast between the sharp tailoring of the coat and the soft and romantic style of lace top and skirt works very well, and the colors are quite perfect.

bertie5252003 04-10-2010 01:01 PM

Don't like the top at all with this is she going to church or out in the evening it confusing however I love the the rest of the look including the hat is it new?? Am not sure about the earrings as well mmmmmm....

PrincessofEurope 04-10-2010 06:29 PM

The black coat is such a sharp contrast to the delicate lacy top and skirt

The black hat is one Mary has had since 2005 and has been worn to numerous events

Any closeups of the shoes??

I fully agree with your observations. Crown Princess Mary looked perfect. I liked the contrast of colours (the nude colour and the black one) and textures (lace, silk and the material the coat is made of). I think that tailoring is pivotal to any ensemble.

greenways 04-10-2010 10:53 PM

I adore this nude lace and black outfit - Mary's jacket is tailored within a inch of it's life! I would love to have my clothes tailored, it makes so much difference.:flowers:

i would love too, it looks so different wen it is tailored too you! but i must say i found some brands that have quite nice fit and my size, but you can check carlisle-perser- etcetera- eccocci- and liimited editions for her, try them , may be you find something that fit you good!
the only thing they do not have it is the hats and gloves like Mary uses that i love them! andshe carry them so good!!!!!!!

Parrothead 04-16-2010 11:20 AM

Smashing coat, but somehow the lace dress doesn't work for me. I think it looks too much like a cocktail dress with a coat over it. And perhaps it's just the lighting, but the shoes look burgundy while the coat is red.

Yes,they don't seem to mesh together so well. Love her hat!

Her_Majesty 04-16-2010 11:32 AM

I don't really like that the dress is longer then the coat. The coat itself is beautiful and so is the dress , but it doesn't look good together. I think the look is okay , but she has looked much better before.
The hat is lovely. It seems to be the same she also owns in purple.

UserDane 04-16-2010 11:32 AM

I love seeing Mary in these wide-brimmed hats. She wears them extremely well :flowers:

I love both the coat and the lace dress, but separately. The style of this beautiful coat is so sharp and I think it looks better when the hem of her dress is not seen under the coat.

Yes, it looks like she has two entirely different styles going on.

agami.pearl 04-16-2010 11:50 AM

Fantastic coat, but I'm not a fan of the dress, is too long, so it doesn't look good. Lovely hat - CP knows how to wear a hats...

ANNIE_S 04-16-2010 12:35 PM

I love the hat, itīs so beautiful and looks lovely on Maryīs head. The red coat is beautiful too. I agree that the lace golden dress should be a bit shorter, at least shorter than the coat. Moreover, I donīt think that lace goes well with that coat.

rubies 04-16-2010 12:38 PM

I think Mary looks perfect as she has this whole birthday week!

Al_bina 04-16-2010 12:49 PM

Crown Princess Mary appears to favour lace in combination with various coats. Her ensemble is well-chosen and well-fitted.

dazzling 04-16-2010 01:14 PM

I dont like the last outfit, the red coat & the lace dress.
The lace dress seemed off looking with the coat and the hat didnt match well with the overall.
The hair do was a bit too much for the daytime event.
It seemed that Mary was trying too hard but it didnt work at all IMO.
This whole look was a miss.

NoorMeansLight 04-16-2010 02:17 PM

I like her look, though I don't think the red coat and the lacey dress are the best match. Lovely hat and smile!

bertie5252003 04-16-2010 02:23 PM

I love the wrap she is wearing fot the staff occasion am not crazy about those coats she has two of, the red and the purple they are okay not mad on the luncheon outfit like the hat though. Thanks for all the up to date posting here.

ashelen 04-16-2010 03:13 PM

I like Mary's look althought i have tto agree the dress longer than the coat it is NO-NO , i must say aftr seeing the photos, last night this beautiful u do, this mrning a pony tail, after in the balcony another updo, she must have had a lot of help, specially from this morning to the balcony scene!a completly quick change!!!!!i love it!

Opal 04-16-2010 04:24 PM

I would like to see the dress by itself. Why cover up such a beautiful lacey dress? I agree the dress shouldn't be longer than the coat, although the red coat is beautiful. The shoes don't match.

kerry 04-19-2010 04:56 PM

I didn't like the last look but I do think she has looked very stylish recently. She seems to co-ordinate better than a lot of the other royals including people who are really feted as stylish. I did wonder if she has less money and gets less freebies and so has to buy with co-ordination in mind? But that is just an opinion and I could be wrong.

I love the headband, but the rest is bad. Although the blouse with another combination would look better.

NoorMeansLight 04-20-2010 02:08 PM

Boring colours and style. One of the worst outfits for Mary IMO.

Her_Majesty 04-20-2010 04:46 PM

I agree... the vest is really old fashioned; my grandmother would wear something like this. The combination of the vest and the blouse looks ridiculous. The only nice thing about this look is her hair.
This was indeed one of her worst looks.

This was indeed one of her worst looks.

The vest would look much better with a less poufy shirt. They don't really go together as others have posted. I'm not sure this is her worst look, but it's not her best either. She really does have beautiful hair, and I like the hairband she is wearing.

I can see where she is trying to go with this look, kind of 70's. (bell bottoms, puffy sleeves, headpiece etc). Not awful but maybe the colour is a bit bland and the trousers are a little long.

The blouse is Heartmade Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Princess Mary wore it at this event last year Sept. 19, 2009: https://msndk.starlounge.com/index.cf...agenr=2&page=2

I really disliked the last outfit Mary wore. That tan ensemble did nothing for her. The color was not flattering, and the mixture of patterns didn't appeal to me. I did really like her previous outfit with the pretty pattern top, cropped pants and peep toe shoes. I loved her hairstyle too. She looked fabulous in that outfit, but really missed the mark in the last one, IMO.

Not that bad, IMO. It's just a rather masculine look which doesn't belong to my favorite styles either. Anyway, I like the trousers and shoes. With the coat she looks a bit boring, but still quite elegant. The combination of the vest and blouse is rather ugly indeed, the vest doesn't match with the pattern of her trousers either.

To me,
it looks like she took that vest from Frederik's wardrobe :whistling:
