The website for the royal visit has been put online. This includes an itinerary, which is already far superior to that released for the visit of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall in November.

2010 Royal Tour - Home

I've also put together a map showing the locations that have been announced for events.

The Province of Nova Scotia also has created a website for the visit.

Hale and hearty Queen has busy agenda for Canadian trip - Winnipeg Free Press

Roger Barliszen is planning to reprise a little family history this Canada Day.

The Ottawa government worker and his daughter Victoria, three months shy of her fourth birthday, may be among a projected 100,000 people on Parliament Hill when Queen Elizabeth II addresses the nation July 1.

The speech, one of four by the Queen during her nine-day tour of Canada, will anchor a frenetic tour that takes the monarch from Halifax to Winnipeg and back to southern Ontario.

Does anybody know if it is on the agenda for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh to visit Ground Zero while in New York as Prince Harry did on his visit last year?

The Queen and the DoE are in
  • Halifax from June 28 to June 30
  • The National Capital Region from June 30 to July 3
  • Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 3
  • Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario from July 3 to July 6
Then on July 6th, The Queen addresses the UN. So i doubt she'll make a stop at Ground Zero.

Who knows where Queen will sleep? - Nova Scotia News - TheChronicleHerald.ca

Government House may have recently had a multimillion-dollar face lift, but it is not being revealed whether the Queen and Prince Philip will be staying in the new and improved residence during their visit to Halifax.

RoyalistRiley 06-27-2010 02:20 AM

Here's something that I've been thinking about recently. When she addresses the UN, will it be as Queen of the United Kingdom, Queen of Canada or as Queen of Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belieze, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica and so on ?

wbenson 06-27-2010 03:55 AM

The news release linked upthread states that "the Queen will address the UN as the Head of State of the United Kingdom and 15 other United Nations member states." I do wonder how exactly that works, though, given that each state has its own unique foreign policy.

On that note:

Queen to make historic UN address and appeal for 'world peace' - Telegraph

The Queen is preparing to deliver one of the most important speeches of her 58-year reign in New York early next month.

She is expected to appeal for world unity and world peace when she addresses the 192-member General Assembly of the United Nations for the first time in more than half a century at the end of her summer tour of Canada.

So there will be two reigning monarchs in Canada at the same time.
King Abdullah will arrive on June 29th.

This article says that she will make the address as "Head of State of 16 UN Member nations", so I guess she will just have a lengthy introduction  And I do hope that she does not literally say 'I would like world peace" because then the UN General Assembly would start to sound like a beauty contest

But only one of them is the Sovereign of Canada.;)

But it’s in Halifax where the Queen will carry out her most important official duty and witness the greatest spectacle of the trip.

Seventeen foreign warships — including the British aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal and the American carrier USS Wasp — arrived here last week to join the Canadian navy in celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The city’s waterfront is now bristling with modern warships and filled with sailors from Canada, the U.S., Britain, France, Denmark, Germany, Holland and Brazil.

. . . At Rideau Hall, she will unveil plans for a new stained glass window, to be installed in the Senate in 2012, the 60th anniversary of her reign.
The window’s design, created by Kelowna, B.C., stained glass artists Christopher Goodman and Angela Zissoff, is a tightly-guarded secret —

All that’s known is that the window will pay homage to the only two Diamond Jubilees in Canadian history: that of Queen Victoria in 1897, and Elizabeth II in 2012.
