I hope this is a keeper and not just a loan. I could see Isabella and Josephine getting either their mother's wedding tiara or this one as their 18th birthday tiara. Christian's wife would eventually get the ruby parure, etc. That would just leave Vincent's wife.

Vincent's wife can get the aquamarines.

I just saw a photo of Mary from behind. The pin the diamond holds her sash in place is an "F" for Frederik.

I would have loved her to wear the whole ruby earrings. Love them!

Do we think the "drop" part of the ruby earrings are new or do they belong to the big ruby set? Not sure I have seen them used like this before.

I think it are drops from the necklace.

I think they are center drops from the original earrings. I bought the Danish book about the redo of the Danish Ruby Parure for Mary, and while I don't read or understand danish, the pictures indicated the earrings were modified so that the center drops could be worn from the top cluster.

That necklace is absolutely riveting, I must say. Definitely looks like a convertible tiara to me, I just don't know which one it can be. Doesn't look like one I've seen before. It'll be interesting to see if BB have some more information on it.

I read on the CP Mary's Message Board that BB this week write it is a tiara that Mary wore as a necklace. I hope BB is correct. Don't know where they have their information from, but I really hope Mary own's it. I would really like to see it as a tiara!

It is a beautiful design, but I agree that it may not be all diamonds. If the earrings are meant to match, the stone in the "teardrop" portion looks like moonstone. However, this could be due to lighting, angle, etc.

I overheard a commentator (with half an ear) on TV, went the idea that the brooch Mary wore on the last night was a converted Dulong piece or pieces.

Humera has posted a back view of CP Mary here: https://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...ml#post1772415

It is from the return invitation of the Dutch State Visit in March and I don't think we have discussed the haircomb before. It looks lovely, imo, perfectly matched with the outfit and hairstyle. But I wonder what it is made of? Real or fake? The metal looks golden in colour, but the stone look too big to be rubies, imho.

BB has some details about some earrings Mary wore recently: https://app.box.com/s/1vvjltyobj4uypzbbx9pkeq84jgglnti

They are called Winter Frost and they are by Ole Lyngaard.

rubies 04-29-2015 12:48 PM

Arent these a piece of a bigger earring that she wears with or without pendants.

maria-olivia 04-29-2015 03:14 PM

I have doubts for the Arhus tiara necklace , perhaps also from Dulong ??

Saturday Sparkler: The Midnight Tiara | The Court Jeweller

This tiara is awful to me. It's one of the worst tiaras I've seen.

rubies 05-14-2015 12:22 PM

I know Im terrible....I don't like this tiara. These kind of pieces just look like they dont have the money to make them sparkley so they improvise. I can appreciate the art I just like sparkle!!

polyesco 05-14-2015 12:40 PM

I think the midnight tiara is beautiful
something modern and looks wonderful on Mary
https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mNhiFRftmi...ightTiara1.jpg
its an alternative she can use for the less "formal" family events

Valerie Rose 05-14-2015 04:06 PM

It's possible that tiara doesn't photograph so very well, but I find it very attractive and it suits Princess Mary.

Tilia C. 05-15-2015 01:13 PM

I agree with polyesco and think it's very beautiful. It is an unconventional tiara, but imo it is very well executed. It suits Mary's facial shape and I love it that they chose the Autralian wattle flower as motiv for this tiara.

I'm glad that it's not her only tiara, but as an additional tiara this is very interesting addition.
