You are right, never thought about. Indeed, especially in the mouth arr.
I hope it will change through the age, as Princess Irini, has never been pretty, in the opposite queen Sofia was very beautiful.

Seeing this it seems there's a striking resemblance between Irene and her great-niece Infanta Sofia.

Apparently I'm not the only who sees it, at least in the Family Resemblances thread, and some other internet comments on young Irene pictures.

Irene had a very bright and beautiful (and instantly identifiable) smile when she was younger, and nice eyes. I actually prefer her slightly idiosyncratic looks to her sister. (Sofia was nice-looking, but I'm not a fan of the Frederika features.)

Infanta Sofia will undoubtedly get more of a chance to shine than Princess Irene, so I'm sure she will do just fine. Considering Irene has never had a family, it seems nice and sweet that this resemblance popped up.

Agree, and since Pcs Irini leaves permanently in Spain, she will have many opportunities to see infanta Sofia growing and will be happy for the ressemblance.
As for Queen Sofia, I don't see the Frederica treats on her, when she was young she had a delicate pretty doll face, bit I don't see it coming from her mother.

Itīs always in the eye of the beholder. From my point of view, Frederika was prettier than both of her daughters. Queen Sofia "very beautiful"..? Well, how then would you call women like Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Margaret, Princess Grace or Queen Anne.Marie?! I think Sofia looked very nice, but thatīs that.

The best looking child of King Paul and Queen Frederika by far was their son Constantine, anyway.

Of course, we are talking about personal opinions and perceptions.
Yes I correct my word, Queen Sofia as a young lady was simply beautiful, if you compare her with the names you mentioned, agree she is far behind. But still a pretty girl. And aged well.
Princess Irini was never pretty, and did not age well thought.
As for King Konstantin, he was handsome only in his young ages, when he was CP and then ruling King, maybe the aura of the uniforms helped. But since his 30s he stopped being so handsome and aged very badly, and I'm not talking only for now with his health issues.
And if you go to the next generation, among the 8 grandchildren of Paul and Federica, you have Felipe very handsome and of course Nikolaos. I saw him closely many times and I can tell you he is more than gorgeous and aging well (opposite to his father)
Of couse all this is my personal opinion.
