Does anyone know the history of the jewelry (earrings and brooch) she wore for the September opening of Parliament?

If anyone is interested in Maxima-sized pearls for a decent price I recently bought some from a catalog www.ross-simons.com. I have double pearl drops (item 099965 PST 4Y) like she is wearing w/the red dress in the 12/5 post in this forum (another event she wore them was when she gave long speech in Dutch, wearing green/gold wrap top.) Also big pearl necklace like she wore for Prince Claus' funeral (#102460) - mine were only $100 and look very regal!

I'm not trying to advertise for this company, just trying to be helpful to other pearl-loving royalty watchers!

The brooch & earrings belong to the Melliero Ruby Parure which was bought by King Willem III for his second wife Queen Emma (born Princess of Waldeck-Pyrmont).

more info on danjel's site:
https://groups.msn.com/RoyaltyDanjel2...mondrubyw.msnw

btw the brooch can also be worn as part of a necklace (as you can see on a picture with Queen Juliana (the ruby parure was one of her favourites)

Maxima with a new tiara - or rather a converted necklace:
https://www.royal-magazin.de/niederla...xima-tiara.htm

DDD 07-13-2004 03:22 PM

She should wear the tiara with the huge Stuart Diamond in it, at the dayt she becomes queen. I think it will look great on her. Queen Beatrix never wore the tiara. I think the queen thinks that the tiara is too big for her :P but Juliana wore frequently.

So everyone in the royal family can use them. Princess Maxima has worn like 3 or 4 different tiaras. Sheīs very good at wearing tiaras, or making them, because, she used pieces of pearl tiaras on diamond tiaras, like the one at the Swiss Statevisit, and her wedding star tiara is also a combined tiara. The stars are brooches,(the brooches Beatrix wore at Prinsjesdag) and she put the stars on a diamond frame. And thatīs how we see new tiaras.

I make some searche and resolve see how many tiaras Maxima wear since she became engement. She wear a lot (well4) but much more than any princess.

Hannelore 10-24-2004 01:50 PM

the first two are marvellous.

The last is complete kitch.

Larzen 10-24-2004 05:42 PM

Oh Im so glad someone agree, I think the star tiara looks like a barbie tiara that can be bought in any toy store, and the curls she was sporting in Mšrthas wedding did not help on the barbie look. I dont like the one with the pearls either, but it is not as bad as the star tiara. I love the one she wore in Haakons wedding, and the hairstyle and makeup was so perfect that day, I dont think it has ever been that good since.
She har also worn a necklace as a tiara:

My my Maxima seems to really like pointy tiaras! I think they are beautiful, although I don't think I'm a huge fan of the pearl one. What tiara did she wear at her wedding? Was it one of the four posted above?

DDD 11-05-2004 02:28 AM

Her wedding tiara was the last one, the star tiara.

micas 01-19-2005 06:51 PM

At last that tiara that she just wear once but now one have a nice pic. Now she wear again, with new earrings amd several star brooch, maibe the stars that belong to the weding tiara. :)

Marengo 01-20-2005 07:53 AM

I believe that the stars on her wedding tiara have the same size, while these have not. In total the dutch RF owns 10 diamond stars (I was told so by a poster on the glittering royal events MB), 5 of them were a gift from Princess Marie zu Wied (daughter of Prince Frederik of The Netherlands & sister of Queen Lovisa of Sweden & Norway) to her cousin Queen Wilhelmina.
I believe that Maxima has worn the diamond bracelet before (during her wedding & the pre-wedding gala).

Mia 01-21-2005 04:28 AM

I think that these can very well be the same brooches. The 8-legged stars are slightly growing towards the center of the tiara, as can be seen on the pic below (from Danjel's site and originally from Polfoto. Thanks for all of you ;)). Maxima is also wearing the large 12-legged star brooch pinning the sash on place. The same brooch can also be seen as part of the "star constellation" on the other picture.

DDD 02-08-2005 03:21 PM

I think we have to wait untill she's a queen.
i think that the historical jewels belong to a queen, and not to a princess. We don't see large necklaces anymore e since we have queen Beatrix. She thinks that she doesn't has the right neck to wear grand necklaces....

I believe that this necklace was designed by Rodrigo Otazu. An argentine jewel designer who lives in Holland and who is very popular her. American celebreties also order from him, Britney Spears for example.

carlota 10-29-2005 09:50 AM

other designer who normally creates jewelry for maxima is Celedonio Lohidoy :) who also designs for celebrities (sarah jessica parker, for example)

They are looking very nice indeed. No idea about the provenance, though the necklace was already worn this way by Queen Emma of The Netherlands in 1890. My bet for the big drop pearl earrings is that the pearls came from Russia, either due to Queen Anna Pavlovna or Queen Sophie (whose mother was Grand Duchess Catharina Pavlovna).

This is my first posting on the royal forum.
I would like to say Hello to the members.
I really appreciate Princess Maxima's sense
of jewelry and desprerately want to know
about her bracelet which she has been wearing
on her right hand neck since she spent singlelife
at New York when she hit the headline on the tabloid
as CP Willem-alexander's bride-to-be.
Could everyone tell me which jeweler made her
bracelet ?
I presume the bracelet came from the Zorreguietas
family jewelry collection, and her mother gave her
as gift.

I realy like Maxima's jewelery!!!
This one is beautiful!!:https://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1...uuuuuuu6pj.jpg
And the necklace: https://img157.imageshack.us/img157/4007/cc6lt.png

Information( Only dutch!!:( )
Can anyone translate it??It's from:https://www.maximaiscool.weblog.nl

Josefine 03-08-2006 08:50 AM

has she worn the necklace that she wore at the christning before

Marengo 03-08-2006 09:24 AM

Yes, she wore it in Estonia in 2002, during an official visit (I believe she was wearing red) and she wore it once during remembrance day (May 4th). I think it is her personal property as I never saw these (cultivated) pearls before in the RF.

As a matter of fact they have a foundation in which the royal jewels are kept, so they can be saved from being sold or given away to all kind of family members. Every queen or princess who belongs to the royal household is allowed to use the jewels in the vault. Though I think Queen Beatrix always has a say in it, but I'm not sure about that. Does somebody know how this foundation works exactly?

jolanda oosterveen 03-21-2006 01:24 AM

it works like this: any member who is in the royal family can wear the jewelery but when it is going up for sale the must offer it to the people of the royal family first before it is going to auction!

i really dont think most of the jewels can be sold.it seems counterproductive to say they have to be offered to the royal family first since the selling of heirlooms would likely only be the result of the royal family having fallen on hard times.

plus if they can be sold, that means they are an individuals property. the queens?

I believe it was the gala ballet performance in honor of Mabel and Friso's wedding that was delayed out of the respect for Juliana's recent death.

i like the cut and design of the outfit though i wish she had worn it in more interesting colors than black and white.

Maxima wore a ruby and diamond necklace and two different bracelets also with diamonds and rubies on them. Also a ruby and diamond ring and ruby and diamond earrings.

The necklace and the bracelet on Maxima's left arm belong to the Mellerio parure made for Queen Wilhelmine, which also includes a tiara, a pair of earrings, a large stomacher and a smaller brooch (this brooch matches the necklace clasp and was previously a second one). All of them have been worn frequently by Queen Juliana and parts of the parure by Queen Beatrix and Maxima.
The bracelet on her right arm belongs to another ruby parure, called the Peacock parure, which also includes a necklace and a scroll brooch. Queen Beatrix wears it often with the brooch (on the formal dinner at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elisabeth II jubilee).
The ring looks more recent.

Thanks GaŽl. Here's a good pic of Queen Juliana wearing the Mellerio Parure in all it's glory: https://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/369984-post19.html

Thank you, Warren. I still don't know how to post pictures and yours helps a lot illustrating my purpose.

what tiara did she use at the recent state visit

HRHAmy 05-01-2006 01:43 PM

New ruby parure for Maxima at King Carl's 60th birthday gala. I think this is very pretty on her. The hairstyle, the dress, the jewelry, everything was beautiful. :)

she wore the Aquamarine Tiara at the StateVisit from Luxembourg
I don't like this Tiara.. It looks like plastic. :P ;)

HRH Mims 05-02-2006 11:34 AM

I agree with you. Its ugly, she looks like statue of freedom :D

I like the ruby parure on Maxima, it suits her very well. However, i do not like the aquamarine suite on her as it looks like it has been photo-enhanced onto her.

laduchesse 05-02-2006 07:05 PM

I think the ruby parure suits CP Maxima perfectly!

almee 05-02-2006 09:17 PM

I love the ruby parure that Maxima wore to the gala. It sparkles, just like she does.
I love all shiny & glittery things!... Especially jewelry!!!

Has she worn this tiara before. Usually the Dutch RF is a big dissapointment when it comes to Tiaras but this tiara was beautiful.

I more think the gems looks like its have been made from acrilic :D. I think the stones real colour is more like light blue https://www.angelfire.com/de3/verenas...as/Maxima.html. Yes it reminds me the statue of liberty:D

The Ruby Parure by Mellerio was made for QUEEN EMMA in 1889.

How many times has Maxima worn the Rosecut Bandau?

She wore it one time, during the state visit from Canada to the Netherlands in 2005.

I agree with you, the rose cut diamond bandeau is one of the loveliest pieces in the Dutch collection and it looked great on Maxima! :)

Her_Majesty 06-13-2006 06:23 AM

Maxima wearing Mabel's weddingTiara!
Looks beautiful on her! :)

berry 06-13-2006 06:25 AM

i don't think it's the wedding tiara of mabel. the center motif looks too "full".

Her_Majesty 06-13-2006 06:27 AM

I think you can combine this Tiara in different ways...Don't know exactly, but maybe it's another version of the mabel-Tiara ;) .
I just cannot think of another Dutch Tiara that looks like this.
(Here you can see a good collection https://members.lycos.nl/oranjenassau/ )
