General questions about King Abdullah, Queen Rania & Family

Does she read what we write about her??

Jae143 08-15-2007 10:28 PM

i sincerely doubt she has the time or the concern to sit here and read what we say, although I've known a few celebrities to do it, most say they find it narcissistic to read their fan boards

closesttoheaven 08-16-2007 05:22 AM

don't think she cares. but i could imagine that some other younger members of the JRF know this forum. but... many things written down here hurt, so i don't really think one of them reads the forum regulary!

Rossina 08-16-2007 07:07 AM

I dont think so..............

It's at the bottom of the page, you could try that first.

How does Queen Ranai stay slim? Does any member know of what her fitness regime is?

Little_star 10-17-2007 08:25 PM

In the past she's been photographed jogging, cycling and walking. For example on their holiday this summer she was photographed on what appeared to be a walk with her brother. Similarly there were shots of her in Mallorca some years back with her trainer.

yamamah 10-19-2007 02:31 PM

thank you for reply, so she work hard to stay slim - like other ladies :D

Queen Rania will be celebrating her 38th birthday, on August 31st.
She went through Primary and Secondary education in Kuwait and in 1991, earned a degree of Business Administration from the American University in Cairo. In 1995, she earned DEA's degree of Management from the HEC school of Management. You can find more information here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Rania_of_Jordan

New Fan of the Royal Family....have a few questions!!!

Ok, I have a few questions and looking for a couple of different photos!

1. Does anyone have any photos of KA and QR holding hands, kissing, anything affectionate that isn't one of the "official" royal pics? They seem like a terrific couple, but didn't really come upon alot of pics of them being a "couple".

2. Is it true that KA doesn't speak much Arabic or it isn't good?

3. Does anyone have the articles from the Harpers Bazaar, Elle or Vogue interviews she did? I'm kind of late on the fan wagon, so I missed alot of those articles.

Thanks!!!

Does anyone have a idea about QR's weight and height? She looks thin, but good in her pictures. And you know the saying..."The camera adds 10lbs". So just wondering if anyone had an idea.

Ok..next question. Didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Does QR and KA speak to their children in English or Arabic? Probably both? I would think mainly English b/c many articles I have read said that KA doesn't speak fluent Arabic. Anyone know???

That is right .... i watched princess Iman on jordan tv last year ... her arabic is excellent

QueenRaniaFan 05-09-2008 06:36 PM

Wow! Interesting. So I'm sure that QR speaks to the children in Arabic and KA speaks to them in English so they will be fluent in both. And I'm guessing QR and KA speak to each other in English.

Only a little more than a week until QR and KA's 15th wedding anniversary! I wander if there will be any special celebration in the kingdom or pictures like on their 10th. 15th anniversary is a big deal!

About 5' 6" and although the magazines say she is tall, she isn't really, maybe in comparison with a lot of Jordanian women she is but average height as she always wears very high heels, 3 or 4 inches. If you see her standing next to King Abdullah who is a short man like his father was, you see she is almost the same height as him, although she is a little taller than him.

She is really, really thin but isn't naturally built that way and you can see it in her hips and bottom when you see her in person. She has dieted and exercised very hard to get to the weight she has now. Lately, she seems to have gained a little weight and looks better IMO.

I think this is true although Queen Noor had to learn Arabic as an adult and her arabic is better than Abdullah's.

Does anyone know where the family currently lives? I understood that they had an house in Amman, but have they moved into a palace at some point in time?

Velasco 11-30-2008 07:01 PM

I am wondering....if the King wanted to, could he take another wife? Or more wives? Ie, a harem...?

Little_star 12-01-2008 04:35 AM

A muslim man may only take another wife if he has the permission of his first wife. So, I find it highly unlikely that the King would do so.

Rossina 12-02-2008 04:48 AM

How much do you know about the glamorous Jordanian royal
hello magazine
HELLO! - Queen Rania quiz - hellomagazine.com

Mademoiselle Lilo 12-02-2008 05:37 AM

all muslims men in muslims states can easily have another wife, cause all the laws in all arabic/muslims states allow it(exept Tunisia and Morocco)
so if King Abdulah decide/want to have others wives will be so easy to him, however i hardly, hardly think he will for some reasons:he have beautiful/elegant wife(who have big power in Jordan I don't think she will let it happen easily),have onather wife will not do any favors for the image of modern king/country he want to give so i don't think he will tak that risk.

Veram98 12-02-2008 07:05 AM

The practice of polygamy is rare in Jordan (and seems to be concentrated in the rural areas as opposed to the urbanized cities). The last Jordanian royal who had more than one wife (at the same time) was King Abdullah I (died in 1951).

Little_star 12-02-2008 08:45 AM

Muslim men can marry upto 4 women however there are strict conditions.

Firstly they must have the agreement of their first wife, if she does not agree a second marriage cannot take place. The same applies if there is more than one wife.

Secondly they may only do so on the basis that they can provide equally for all wives.

Thirdly the provision is only supposed to be used at times where there are many unmarried women. For example during early Islam there were many widows so the Prophet recommended multiple marriages because these women would then be free from abuse, exploitation etc.

not necessary Little_star even if in some laws they said so,if the man really want a second wife and the first one didn't agree the marriage take place no matter what,so the agreement of first wife is more moral than legal requirement that disrupt the second marriage.
as law woman i know what i am talking about here,I sudied law and I know about it in all arab countries.

Marsel 06-08-2009 08:33 PM

Queen Rania's height is estimated from 5'5" (165 cm) to 5'9" (175 cm). Personally I think that 5'9" is way too tall, the more realistic figure is probably 5'6".

I have a question concerning the Line of Succession. I know there isn't one in Jordan as such and the Crown Prince can be chosen by the King among his sons or brothers. I also know that currently there is no Crown Prince in Jordan, although it is widely expected that the King will appoint his eldest son any day now. However, if something were to happen to King Abdullah before he appoints his heir, how the new Monarch would be chosen? Would Abdullah's brothers be favoured because both his sons are minors? Or would one (or more) of his brothers be appointed Regent until Hussein is of age?

White Princess 06-08-2009 11:15 PM

I guess if King Abdullah died tomorrow, his son would be immediately king, however an elder brother would be regent til he gets of age (Prince Feisal probably). However Wikipedia has an article about the "Line of Sucession to The Jordanian Throne" Line of succession to the Jordanian throne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Little_star 06-09-2009 01:52 PM

From what I understand Prince Hussein is the Crown Prince, he just hasn't been publicly declared the CP.

Marsel 06-09-2009 02:03 PM

Thank you White Princessa and Little_star. :flowers:
Since King Abdullah's eldest son is already his Heir in accordance with agnatic primogeniture, he doesn't have to name the Crown Prince at all, unless he wishes his younger son or one of his brothers/nephews to succeed him, which personally I find very unlikely.

White Princess 06-13-2009 04:53 AM

I think a formal investure will be held this year or he'll wait him to get 18

salma 10-30-2009 07:19 AM

He does.

His clients include action star Steven Seagal, and dignitaries like President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia, King Abdullah of Jordan, and President Barack Obama."

I was wondering... Is King Abdullah allowed to marry another woman without having to divorciate Queen Rania? Being a muslim, I guess he can, but I wonder if it is real possible, since him or his father, or even grandfather did not marry two women at the same time. Does anybody know?

And if so, his second wife woulb be also Queen or princess (like Brunei)?

dazzling 08-06-2010 04:52 AM

It is possible for him to have up to four wives at a time with Rania being the 1st wife.
About titles, well, it depends on the King but most probably it would be a princess and not a Queen title.

Veram98 08-06-2010 07:28 AM

King Abdullah I (1882-1951) was married to several wives (at the same time): to Queen Musbah as his first wife and Princess Suzdil as his second wife. Two years before his death he married with Nahda bint Uman a young Sudanese lady who didn't get any title at all.
