Today Letizia looks really good! The dress is recycled from last July and I already liked it back then.

Quote:

As my english is not fluent at all ( euphemism!) is the word "recycled" is the good one to say that for example a dress has yet wore and whithout any changing - on the dress- it's wore again?

If I'm asking that it's only because in Fench " recyclé" can be pejorative, while in the case above The Princess is wearing for twice or three time in more than a year a beatiful dress which fit her very well and for wich, to change a little, she is wearing others jewelles.

Thanks in advance for the answer:flowers:
Hi adelaide,

It means repeating, so not pejorative sense :flowers:
I can only recall one occasion when she wore this dress and liked it back then so I am happy she repeated it, together with the necklace. The shoes are different though.
I thought Letizia went back to her heydays today, she looked very good and happy, nice dress and make up, even her hair was fixed ;) to be continued, please!
Maybe her daughters are to blame that she looks great one day and far for great another, depending on how they keep her up all night or prevent her from sleeping or resting

Yes, this one is the same dress that she wore other times. You are very observant rochaino;)
I hope she wear this dress more often because it is very pretty. Black and white suit much to Letizia.

Somebody commented that the Princess looks tired and absent in this event. Maybe she's thinking at that time of how is Leonor doing at school that day? She may be worried about leaving leonor with people that her eldest doesn't know yet. I can totally understand that feeling :flowers:

We can imagine too as the subject of the speeches are very serious: the reinforcement of the human rights and the processus of democratisation in Portugal, the Princess of Asturias didn't felt the necessity to be ever smiling, why not?

I thought Letizia and Felipe both looked relaxed and very happy at the journalism awards. They looked a bit tired on Monday attending the UN conference. If we had partied until 5:30am on Sunday in Netherland, then hopped a plane home to Madrid with two little girls waiting, we probably would have been a bit tired the next day .
I still don't like the bangs this time, although it looked better this time than on Monday.
The bangs looked so much better in this old picture.

I totally agree with you  the hair looked better than Monday but there is still room for improvement.
As journalism is so much related to Letizia I wish Zarzuela would allow her at least here to play an active role and deliver the prizes. There are so much other events where it does make sense that she stands behind.

That flower bouquet - no question the florist had guts to put together such a creation for the princes.

The legendary Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, who this Monday receives an honoring in the Royal Theatre, follows with interest the situation of the dance in Spain and believes that " there should be a national company of classic ballet ", since this way the Spanish dancers would be prevented from having to go away abroad.

In the show, at which the Princes of Asturias will be present, they will take part also Tamara Rojo, that there shares with Plisetskaya the Prize Prince of Asturias of the Arts 2005; Carlos Acosta, Lola Greco, Ricardo Cervera and a dozen of stars of the international ballet, the majority of they with Russian surnames.

Letizia looks wonderful. I am glad she is not wearing those business suits, at least for now. She is a beautiful, smart woman and I hope that she will start doing 'solo' events soon.

nouwrein 09-10-2007 10:08 AM

So far so good, I am looking forward to her wardrobe this fall season. It seems that she favored dressy outfits since she resumed attending official duties after the birth of Infanta Sofia, haven't seen a suit yet- which I like too by the way but its just that I have seen so much of it that now I am more excited to seeing a different kind of dressing style, especially the ones that we can wear.

Is this outfit new or has she worn this before? I like the dress, it's simple and classic. Hope to see an HQ of the purple belt, I think it's trendy and in this season. Well, she's looking fresh today with that new pony tail hairstyle with some bangs.

Camarina 09-10-2007 10:35 AM

Thanks for the pics, letizia looks beautiful, it seems she's always wearing black or white these days, is it because of the death of her sister? I know devout catholics in our country don't wear bright colors for one year from the death of a relative.

Glamorous! That is the first word that came to mind after looking at some of the most recent pics of Letizia. She has stepped up in the glam department that's for sure. I liked the dress from the daytime. It actually reminded me of a dress that I have seen Q. Rania wear. Although Rania pairs things with tans/browns and Letizia opted for a purplish color belt and shoes. Which I thought was very nice and complimenting to each other. I also loved the dress from this evening. It was a perfect fit for her frame! It does look familiar to me! Maybe she's worn it before or maybe it's just similar to something else I've seen her wear. I think though she's going to spoil us soon, because in time a business suit is bound to return. And that poor business suit might be such a let down after seeing some of these other outfits.

Lamyah 09-10-2007 08:10 PM

she looks polished and a future queen in the making, much better than those crazy outfits she was sporting a yr ago with matchy cheap colors.

acdc1 09-10-2007 09:05 PM

Letizia really got it right this time, she looks so beautiful! Everything is right... her skin, her hair, her outfit! She is radiant!

BeautyLeonor 09-10-2007 09:50 PM

BEAUTIFUL, Letizia was absolutely beautiful, i like her dress, her hair, and her big smile!

Wearing white after the Labor Day? Yew... J/K. ;) I don't think the day time outfit is a dress. It's a blouse and a skirt. I'm not too crazy about white with purplish belt or the pony tail. The updo in the evening is much better although the band is a bit too short for the updo. She wore the dress in the evening last year. It suits her.

She does look radiant. How could she not? She has a hunky husband who adores her and two beautiful daughters everyone adores. She's a lucky woman.

LadyFinn 09-10-2007 11:43 PM

The princess looked great yesterday. I liked her both outfits, she has worn them before but they are very beautiful. It´s great to see the princes, they look so happy working together.

bigheadshirmp 09-11-2007 12:46 AM

The princess looks lovely in both the white dress and the gala dress!!! Both of these dresses fits her very well, I especially like the white dress with the belt.

donnaK 09-11-2007 03:23 AM

She wore the dress before with her hair curled. The updo hair looked more elegant, the curls looked hotter.

The Princes presided at the honoring to the ballerina Plisetskaya

The magic of two fans they produced this night to the spectators of the Royal Theatre of Madrid in the hands of the Russian Mayan ballerina Plisetskaya, in the honoring that produced the dance, and at that the Princes of Asturias presided.
(...)

Don Felipe and Dona Letizia presided at the performance in which also her companion intervened in the Prize Prince of Asturias of the Arts 2005 and the first ballerina of the Royal Ballet of London, Tamara Rojo (1974), who initiated the performances with ' Five waltzes of Brahms like Isadora Duncan ', with Frederick Ashton's choreography.

The Princes, who at their arrival to the square of the Opera were got by the minister of Culture, César Antonio Molina, and the manager of the Theatre, Miguel Muñiz - those who later accompanied them in the royal theater box - were greeted after entering the foyer of the coliseum the honoured one.

Don Felipe and Dona Letizia, once finished the performances, approached up to the scene to congratulate one to one to the dancers, with whom they posed for a family photo, to which also César Antonio Molina added.

Letizia looks very beautiful! really a great princess!

adelaide 09-11-2007 06:03 AM

In fact, I don't what does meant a "princess look" but if it's to say that Letizia has a very gracious manning of holidding her head, a very sweet but right way to lookkj at somebody, a very elegant behaviour in front of people, yes obviously, it's really a great princess.
But, I think she has more than a physical behaviour, her empathy is tactible, her interest for the world of today is doing that Letizia is a kind of Princess of today, very accurate definition of both her role and her presence.

Ccile 09-11-2007 06:06 AM

I have just watched the video on Hola.
At the end of the video, when Prince Philippe is getting in the car, you can hear a few women that call him " guapo, guapo".
Well, it is funny, and Prince Philippe could be proud, but don't you think is a bit unrespectful? He is a father and a husband now.
Anyways, both the Prince and the Princess look happy and gorgeous.

It is a true pleasure to see this couple together, they are so sweet, so likeable, so handsome and so ..... hardworkers!
Yes, we are very proud of the princes of Asturias.
I have always seen in Letizia the image of a true PRINCESS: discreet, simple and elegant, warm and smiling and with a clear objective: to stand out by her work and not by her fashion ( she said it to a journalist a time ago), only a mature, professional and responsible woman can think of this one form.
She was absolutely stunning last night with that recycled dress:wub:

Next to Felipe and the rest of the Borbon family, Letizia always looks very petite, but here we see her being as tall if not taller than most people at the event, and her heels weren't even that high. Just goes to show how incredibly tall the members of the Borbon family as well as the husbands of the Infantas are.

The "J/K" in highpriestess's post means "just kidding". I don't think it was to be taken as a serious critique. ;)

I like the shirt she was wearing in the photoshot of Leonor, and I like this dress because it has something printed, it is not only in one colour. They do, a concert to honor Mstilav Rostropovich, but the information for it will be found at the Royal Family thread, since it will be attended not only by the princes, but by the Queen and the Dukes of Lugo and of Palma:smile:

They both look great! I'm happy that they had their summer vacations and now are back at work as are many other royal families. I always find the summer time to be slow and dull for keeping up with all royals.

Wow. the Princess looks great. It is nice to see her with her hair pulled back off of her pretty face. She is so tiny, that her hair overpowers her when she wears it down. With her being so slim and her figure that bounces right back to shape almost immediatly after having a baby, it's hard for me to think of her having 2 daughters!!!

Camarina 09-13-2007 01:27 PM

I have to say that i´m so happy for the princes because they deserve this recognition by their constant and effective work.:flowers:
