Well, that assumes it's actually true and not yet another fabrication or exaggeration by the press to get headlines. I mean, when you see "a royal source told the Daily Express," that sort of tells you that a pinch of salt might be in order.
|
I've split the discussion about James Hewitt and the claims about Prince Harry's paternity into a separate thread, which is here:
https://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...ity-12998.html The discussion about the NBC interview of the princes can be found here: https://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...ana-12995.html The discussion about preparations for the Diana memorial concert is here: https://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...ice-11590.html Let's keep this thread for discussing Prince Harry's current events. |
'Spanks, but no thanks'
Cowboys barmaids paint dirty Harry as royal pain in the butt in British newspaper The Calgary Sun - 'Spanks, but no thanks' Harry avoids media shots in tank CFB SUFFIELD, Alta. -- Incoming! It appears Prince Harry is safely riding out a barrage of explosive media reports about cavorting with Calgary barmaids by dashing around the Alberta prairie in a tank. What do you think?
The Calgary Sun - Just a normal kid This was an okay article. What do you think? National Post This is an iffy article. Harry is a guy and he is sometimes dumb. |
Unless I see pictures of Harry doing any of the alleged things or hear recordings of the alleged banter, I will disregard it as two rather nasty money grabbing tarts using Harry to try to get themselves careers, where they can be photographed without their clothes!

I don't think harry is that stupid to flirt with other women while his girlfriend is there. I don't think he wants more problems in the relationship :flowers:
|
my god...after all the newspaper reports out of canada about him carrying on with the barmaid he's lucky he made it to the concert alive when chelsy got hold of him.
|
Actually i have to admit that i was a bit shocked to see them acting like nothing happened. Chelsy really knows how to control her anger. I belive she is very sure of Harry's feeling for her otherwise i can't imagine how she could forgive that.
|
If Chelsy got upset every time the tabloids invent something, she would have a very miserable life indeed. I think we could see at the concert they are very much in love - they had eyes only for each other.
|
You have to wonder, do they mistake Harry being polite. friendly and gentlemanly for flirting. It seems any man who treats a woman with courtesy is accused of flirting.
|
To some people, flirting with a barmaid (even a one-night stand) isn't the same thing as having an affair with an socially equal. Especially since no one really expect Harry to settle down with someone in that line of work. It sounds snobbish. But really...if Chelsy's father makes her unsuitable as a possible princess to some, can you imagine the hue and cry over a barmaid.
|
Quote:
|
don't get me wrong i'm sure the media have taken liberties and embellished the whole situation. but as far as chelsy getting mad with every "flirt" story that's printed...i think any woman (can't speak for the men here) might be ok the first few times but with the number of stories coming out wouldn't you begin to question? having said that, who knows what discussion takes place behind closed doors between harry and chelsy after these stories come out. i would have to say though she must be very strong to have put up with it all for this long.
|
or she might very syre of harry's feeling for her. and the press isn't always right. i think she tends to believe more what harry tells her that the press, which is great. I really admire her for that, i know i wouldn't be able to cope with all that.

Even if it was a slow week in the press-does everything that a royal says or their actions have to be reported to the press?
I think Prince Harry was trying to be nice to the girl that won the award honoring his mom. He might sometimes feel that way about his hair. I would think someone who consels people and won an award won't go to the press about another person's problem. Poor Harry-He is going to have to learn the hard way about his public role.:ermm: |
^Thats exactly what I was going to say. I'm sure his friends tease him about it sometimes but it can't be that bad! I think he was just trying to relate to the little girl, which is great! Thats a good quality for someone in his position to have. In my personal opinion, Harry's red hair is what makes him so cute!
|
It seems that Harry was trying to help someone who was being bullied for something. and once again they made it a joke. I think it is wonderful that Harry sees the pain bullying can bring and was trying to help and encourage someone.

What a sweet story! Both Prince Harry and Prince William seem to have good hearts and to be caring men. :flowers:
|
Since I find it inappropriate to post this on the Diana-memorial-site I just want to say that I find Harry hot! His voice is much deeper and his shoulders are much broader than William´s. Plus his speech at today´s memorial service will make him IMO even more popular compared with William.
I´m worried though about his chose of girlfriend: Chelsy may be a sign that he´s still a little boyish and therefore I hope he´ll find another one in a few years.... |
I think though that as CD matures, so will her vices and how she handles herself.
I had the opportunity to view the Diana Memorial through BBC. I found it absolutely wonderful and warm. The Princes have outdone themselves in putting together two programs in honour of their mother. Prince Harry was very composed as he stressed to those in attendance and those of us who had the opportunity in other ways to join this memorial, the warmth and love both princes and mother had for one another. My hat is off to both sons and fine work for those who helped the princes in putting together the celebration of the late Princess' life. |
I think we saw Princess Diana's legacy in action at the memorial through her sons. I am excited for the future of the royal family in Great Britian. It is alive and well.:flowers:
|
I looked at both Princes in the video, and actually I found Prince William's shoulders to be as broad as Prince Harry's, maybe just slightly broader. Prince William does look a bit leaner than Prince Harry, but they're both tall and lean with broad shoulders.
I think Prince William's shoulders are probably a bit wider because of his years of swimming and water polo, but Prince Harry is definitely exciting; and maybe even more interesting to look at than Prince William. I just listened to the service again on the BBC website, and both Princes have very deep voices, but I think Prince William's voice is just slightly deeper. I must admit that Prince Harry is the hotter of the two princes though! I think that if Prince William were more outgoing in his manner, he might be more exciting. The link below shows the service in it's entirety. BBC NEWS | UK | Prince Harry leads Diana tributes |

Well its still sweet of him to wake up early to go get her himself. Most people with his wealth would have sent a driver or something. I'm sure she got over it quick.
Some of the people commenting on the first article are being quite rude towards Harry about it. |
Ah, I should have come here first. I just posted the same links in Chelsy's thread. Well, Harry will always be there for his girl. Even though sometimes he screws up this or that, times or terminals or whatever, he comes around and says he is sorry. How can she hold a grudge against that face?

Prince Harry in Snapper Rage by Duncan Larcombe, Royal Correspondent, The Sun 8 September 2007 :photo: Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 |
Harry walking Harry running or striding or walking quickly Chelsy Davy Harry and Chelsy seated in a car Where's the "rage"? |
Well, if Duncan from the Sun sees rage, what more can we say? It must be true, right?
|
No signs of rage, just a young Lady, who was frustrated to be greeted like a Rock star.
Harry just confused the terminal, it can happen to anyone. You are not going to question anyone's feeling, just because he confused the terminal. Will Harrry and Chelsy's affair survive her two-year stay in Britain? Their romance flourished while she loved 6,000 miles away. But as hungover Harry couldn't even meet her plane on time, will their affair survive? It was a clumsy start to Chelsy's new life in Britain where she is due to take up a place on a two-year law course at Leeds University in a fortnight. It also raises questions about how the millionaire's daughter from Zimbabwe and the Queen's 22-year-old grandson will cope now that they are finally living in the same country. For the moment, it seems that the days when their relationship revolved around luxury holidays and romantic African safaris are over. As soon as Chelsy arrived on British soil this week, their relationship was placed on a totally different footing. Chelsy may once have been viewed as girlfriend rather than marriage material. But not any more. "They are very committed to each other and this is the next step in their relationship," said a source close to the Prince. " |

Harry and Chelsey look alike -- at least their profiles look similar. That, among other things, bodes for a long and secure marriage. |
Well this was Chelsey's big intercontinental shift. With no Harry there to even welcome her let alone sheild her from the pirana's it must have been more than a little daunting. As for Harry with his arms spread? IMHO it looks like the universal, non-verbal "I blew it! What can I say?" stance.
As for both of them in the car....: a. The are both belted in, (which is a very good thing) although the space between them looks like it could accommodate at least two more passengers, and b. Whatever they want to say or do about the whole mess, they are obviously not enraged enough to vent in the public eye! Good call from both of them. Against all the accusations that either or both are immature etc. they showed a very mature grace under pressure. (My money is on Harry being well and truely (and not undeservidly) in the dog house!) On a personal note, I look forward to seeing them together in a more normal day-to-day setting. They have lasted this far against all odds. I don't think that 'real life' is going to be their nemisis. |
Quote:
Maybe it is not so daunting "intercontinental shift" for Chelsy as the press are saying. She has been to England many times in her life, even studied there for A Levels, and probably regards parts of the country like a second home. I think she has very close friends who live in Oxford or thereabouts. |

The Telegraph: "Prince Harry in trouble for making Chelsy wait?"
Why did the Telegraph write about the airport scene? Strange.... Guess they can't resist the cheap headline grabbers either? |
These tabloids always try to make something out of nothing when it comes to royals.

It's clear that both William and Harry really do hate the media -- most likely since they see them as having caused their mother stress in large part. Anyway it's a safer target to blame than some others that come to mind. Eventually they will get their wish though and the media and paparrazzi will leave them alone. |

Hello! says that Harry spent his birthday with Chelsy, William and Kate at a pub near Highgrove. They say he gave a speech and said that Chelsy coming to the UK is his best birthday gift. On a sidenote, they said William and Kate, according to a "witness to the scene", were smooching and holding hands all night like they had just met. Well, I hope it's true.... only because I hope they are together again, but not because I like the idea of them acting like that! Personally, constantly smooching couples kind of bug me!

British royal Prince Harry has been slammed for snorting vodka in a potentially lethal drinking game while on holiday in Namibia with girlfriend Chelsy Davy last year.
The 23-year old was captured on tape as he inhaled a bottle cap full of the neat spirit through his nose. He is seen first taking a swig of the booze then spitting it into the bottle top before covering his right nostril and snorting the alcohol Prince Harry's vodka snorting shocker - Yahoo! India News |
^So where's this video?
|
Duncan Larcombe is behind the original story (The Sun Online) but he only talks about the alleged video. He doesn't put it on the site. I don't want to see anyone snort vodka anyway. Only thinking of it makes my septum burn!
It's funny because on the Sun page with the article, they have an advertisement for Absolut Vodka! |
I was in the checkout line today at the grocery store, and on the cover of the tabloid The Globe it said, "Prince Harry's secret love child" and details about the pregnant lady inside. I didn't bother to read it but I thought it was funny. I wonder who the girl is that they are talking about?

But entering in one of these games to see the one who could drink more than the other, until some of the presents could get an alcoolic coma, is awful, and not acceptable. I don't know if Prince Harry did it or not. But if he did, he must be very sad or angry inside. We must try to search which could be its REAL problem behind the alcool...And possibily it will not be a problem all of himself, but a social problem, since a lot of young people engages themselves into "drinking games". And THIS is the problem who must be solved. Please: don't take this as an attack to alcool. I'm not one of these persons from Temperances leagues. I think you could drink responsabily (unless you are an alcoolic, which is an illness, and incurable illness. In that case, you cannot control your drinking and you must not drink a single drop of alcool..Bt I don't think that Prince Harry is an alcoolic). But if alcool becomes a trouble for you...there is a problem there. Vanesa. |
 Vanesa, I love vodka for the record. What makes me sick is the idea of snorting it, as in through the nose. It must burn, no?

Bridge Art Fair: Prince Harry 'Dead' in Iraq War Memorial
Bridge Art Fair: Prince Harry 'Dead' in Iraq War Memorial: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance Horrifically bad taste, IMO!:censored: |
I've read that article several times and I 'get' where the artist was going but still, it's appalling. Any comment from 'sources close to the Prince'?
|
That memorial thing is creepy. This is for real? Or some kind of sick joke? The article makes it sound like some noble work but really it is just weird. I don't like this at all. If they want to do a memorial for the British soldiers who died and were injured in Iraq, fine, great, very noble, but leave Prince Harry out of it. It would be good to let Prince Harry do the unveilling. That would be totally appropriate, and have a plaque on the memorial with the date of the unveilling and his name on there, but this other stuff, the bronze Prince Harry corpse is just a horrible idea.
|
Quote:
|
I find the statue of Harry for the memorial to be a very strange concept and in very poor taste. Perhaps they could have a statue of a fallen soldier in Iraq service uniform to make a point, but it shouldn't depict anyone in particular, particularly not Harry, who didn't go. I know he wanted to go, but he didn't, and I think it insults those who did serve there and die to be commemorated by a statue of someone whose privileged position kept him safe at home. And I doubt his body have looked so neat, with only missing ears, if he had died in combat, so to that extent it is specific to Harry, who, once again, didn't go. But then I often have trouble with symbolism and metaphors.
|
I understand what the artist meant to depict, but I still find it extremely bad taste.
I would think those heros, who actually went to Iraq and gave their lives, or simply fought for their country would deserve a memorial more. :ermm: |
That is very creepy. I know it is a memorial for those serving in Iraq but to call it "Death of Prince Harry" is taking it a little too far for me. Also, some of the statements in the article don't match up with the pictures. For example, the article states...
"Harry's head is earless, denoting the explicit threats against the Prince from militia leaders saying they planned to send him back to his grandmother "without his ears." A bronze casting of Prince Harry's "severed ears" also set for display at the Trafalgar Hotel will be offered on eBay." ... but when you view the pictures the statue has both its ears. Then article states that "visitors may place cards and flowers for Harry at the memorial," which to me is like mourning for Harry. IMO they could have made a much better memorial. Not to offend anyone, but with so many brave soldiers dieing everyday why mourn someone who is alive? |
