the Duke of Palm the title has not risen to him at the top. Aside from speaking of sport with that they know, what it likes more is to explain how they are its children. The greater one, Juan, he has become serious and responsible. It is the one who does after the day the domestic chronicle to him. The second is most rebellious and the small one goes to its air. As far as Irene, its right ojito, it told that is a very sweet girl, very wide-awake and at the moment mimada by all, including its three brothers.

The Dukes of Palm go to the supper of National Gallery of the inauguration of the exhibition of Vela'zquez

The Dukes of Palm, infanta Doña Cristina and her husband, Iñaki Urdangarín, they tonight presided over the reception and supper that the museum National Gallery of London will offer in the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition on the Spanish painter Vela'zquez.

The museum will be the scene of the great exhibition that will present/display the race of Diego Rodriguez de Silva and Vela'zquez, from its beginnings in Seville, passing through its pass by Madrid and its appointment as painter of the cut of Felipe IV, its trips to Italy and its last years of maturity
In its speech, infanta Cristina said that 'perhaps the best praise than can be dedicated to the Art of Vela'zquez is that it follows alive as demonstrates to his influence in other painters like Picasso or Francis to it Bacon, revolutionary icons of the painting moderna'.

The infanta remembered in her speech that Vela'zquez lived specially at a time of transcendental transition in the formation of Europe and of Spain.
'Century XVII is time of deep transformations in the philosophy, in science, in the arts, as well as in the political and economic relations internacionales', it said.

The Infanta and Iñaki are very handsome, Wonderful Cristina !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankssss for the photosssssss :flowers: :flowers:

crisiñaki 10-16-2006 07:56 PM

wow, it was great!
she looks even better in person and seems to be a very intelligent person, the speech she gave was very thoughtful and she knew how to transmit the feeling of Velazquez paintings and the influence it got from the times he lived in and the connection to her family and Spain's history!
I'm so excited she finally came to my town and also that I had the chance to go an see her.

The inauguration started about 7 in the afternoon, but all those of us who got tickets (thanks dad-in-law;) ) had to be there at 6 to have a security check and stuff and then we were allowed to go inside the museum but not to the place where Velazquez' paintings were, 'cuz she had to be the first one to see them...

The exposition is in the second floor of the gallery which was closed until she came, so I took my time and went through the paintings in level 0, there's an awesome collection there (even though I prefer the National Portrait Gallery:smartass:)...

Well, after the rambling;)...
Then she comes....

All I can say is WOW! she's way prettier in person and looks so much better since the last time I saw her (when she was pregnant with Irene), she was wearing a really cool black assembly and I fell in love with her purse; we (of course) were put behind a cord line so it's not like we actually touch her but hearing her saying hello to all of us was really cool!

Behind her came Iñaki (damn lucky woman, he's hoooot) who was wearing an imposing dark blue/black Armani suit with an striped tie, he was constantly looking her way and hung to her every word; in a moment of the speech she looked at him and he WINKED at her (I almost died in that instant!); they really seem to be so in love and in tune with each other, it was really lovely to see...

when her speech ended, they started seeing the paintings and getting pictures done, the photographers were crazy about her and took a million pics:lol:; then they said goodbye to everyone and went on their merry way and the exposition was finally opened for us; I actually saw all of it (mom, aren't you proud of me?) and then I got home feeling very exhilarated for the whole experience!

The only downside part was that I wasn't able to take pics since cameras and mobiles aren't allowed inside the gallery but I felt some flashes coming my way so don't get surprised if my face appears at LFI or something like that:lol:

Well, that's the end of my rambling and the end of the experience!:flowers:

I saw Cristina in February 2005 (she was pregnant with Irene) when I was in a trip in Barcelona with my guy and our kids, it wasn't planned I swear; we were walking through Las Ramblas (the most famous street there) and were in our way to the Museu de Cera, when I spotted them in the street: Cristina, Iñaki, Miguel and Iñaki's mother Claire.
I almost died in that moment because of shock, they noticed me staring and smiled at me and greeted us, they were very kind; it was like a surreal experience!

and I forgot to say, Iñaki is one of the most jealous guys I've ever seen in my life, he's very territorial about her and one of the exposition guys was totally hitting on her (it was sooo obvious:rolleyes:) and Iñaki got closer to her like saying (with body language) "I'm about 20cm taller than you and this is MY woman so back off"...
Everybody noticed it and when we were heading out, they were all talking about it;)

I totally agree with you and it was a pleasant surprise to hear her speaking in English; of course I knew she's very fluent but hearing her speak is awesome, she speaks English like it is her native language and Iñaki speaks English very well too (not as perfect as she, but very good nonetheless); thank God, there wouldn't be nothing worse than a member of the Spanish Royal House that didn't speak english well:lol:

I think she definitely is. I haven't met her in person, so I can't be sure, but I think her marrying a commonor and moving to Barcelona away from the palace and strict protocole has resulted in her being a very down to earth person. I think she's a mother and wife first, and then infanta of Spain. She looks absolutely like a sweet and caring person

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I was searching the internet and found this article about this hair stylist in the USA and one of his clients was Cristina, when she was on a visit to New York.

The pictures from this event were some of the nicest ever of The Infanta, and her hair was beautiful that evening! :flowers:

Don't think orange/melon is the right color for Cristina. Her black dress two years ago is a lot better.

ldt20 10-23-2006 05:57 PM

I think she looks fantastic. It's a little bit different from what she usually wears and I love it. Great hair too.

monica 10-23-2006 06:09 PM

I to liked much his hair, this really very beautiful, it less did not wait for of her because this to me very handsome always but when it goes to the Telva prizes always dazzles more than nobody, these photos are perfect but they will leave more tomorrow surely.:flowers:

Alisa 10-23-2006 06:39 PM

I don't like the combination of colors on the Infanta. It should've been one or the other, not both. Her hair and makeup are beautiful though.

I know that Esperanza Aguire had a very wardrobe, this time she has winned the Jack pot - alittle bit irob=nistic, isen'it? But the woman who make me very surprised is the ministre of the culture because I think that she have to have a personal fortune to dressb her. In the shot above she is wearing a gown come from Missoni a very expansive italian trademark...the exrcize of the power is a good oppoetunity for fashion woman addicted...

planetcher 10-23-2006 11:33 PM

I can't really tell, but is it orange and red? And why didn't she bring her hunky husband?

It's a red top and a burgundy skirt and the husbands never go to this kind of events, not even Jaime when Elena presides them;)

Well she looked like taken straight out of a HP book but it was okay, the one who always surprise us is Agatha Ruiz de la Prada even if I believe this particular outfit is awful

lula 10-24-2006 04:03 AM

On the dress. The Infanta Cristina, repeats, since it is habitual in the last times, of Jesus del Pozo.

Adelaide, the Minister of Culture dresses of Ailanto (Letizia took some shirts of this mark this summer). The Minister continues for alphabetical order the Spanish designers, in the Prizes Goya of cinema she began with Ágatha.

Ágatha is Ágatha, and her designs are like that, funny and impossible, but with them she has created a great business. She was one of the winning ones. It is entertained to see like they are the political women of this country, which dare with her designs, demonstrate good sense of humor . That of the Minister in the Goya was more showy, but this of Esperanza enough good is, I would put on it. The more entertained of the garment, it is that it represents the flag of the Community of Madrid at that she presides.

Thank you monica for sharing.

I'm getting old, and no wonder those kids were born yesterday and today are already going to the school.

The article mentions that Duke of Lugo take the day off to take his daughter to school. I think I missed something; what does Iñaki does in present times?! Do you know?

I would apreciate your answer. Thank you in advance.

Regards,
mtbcm

THE DAUGHTER OF DUKES DE PALMA, IRENE, THE DAY-CARE CENTER BEGINS (HOLA)

NOVEMBER 2006
With a year and almost six months fulfilled, the benjamina of the Dukes of Palm has begun a new and important stage in the life of all boy. Just as they did with its other three children, infant Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarín has waited for until she had this age to take it to the day-care center. Although the girl already has begun to take his first steps, as he demonstrated to the day of the birthday of his brother Juan Valentin, in this occasion it arrived in arms of its father.

With chandal and knapsack
Dressed in a blue chándal with yellow details, Irene was calm throughout the way until the center, that he is he himself in whom their three older brothers spent his first years scholastic, Juan, Pablo and Miguel. Don Iñaki was the one in charge to take the knapsack, also blue, where Irene perhaps took some toy or something to eat. The small one, to that in this occasion it could not accompany its mother, infant Cristina, he did not cry either when his father left it there, perhaps because already she is customary to be with children, since it passes long time with its brothers and cousins.

Indeed he was with them with whom celebrated the first birthday of its premium, infant Leonor, the past day 31 of October, a special occasion in which all the Royal Family met around the first-born of Princes de Asturias, so near in age Irene. Next year in said merienda there will be a member more and the children no longer will return to exert like smallest of the house, since that place will occupy the son that is waiting for Don Felipe and Doña Letizia and that, to be born man, it would again open the debate on the necessity to reform the law of succession to the Throne.
