Swedish Royal Videos & Sound Clips (+ coming TV appearances)

Now I´ll just start this topic! :P

I just read that the ARD (Germany) will be showing a special about Silvia
Dec, 21st 22:45-23:30 (10:45 pm to 11:30 pm)

By the way, here is a place to congratulate Queen Silvia https://www.swedengate.de/sverigemix/silvia.html

Does anyone else know when the RF will appear on TV?

Josefine 12-03-2003 09:42 AM

swedish TV

a lot of TV on December 10
Nobel 2003

and then Jannuary 1?
the royal family during the year of 2003

Dennism 12-03-2003 03:00 PM

Just watched a profile of Matthias Prinz who is the lawyer that is suing the German tabloids on behalf of the Swedish Royal Family. He is also involved in the case of Princess Caroline as well. He is what is called a "celebrity" lawyer. Works primarily in protecting the reputations of actors and athletes. It was pretty good. These cases even go to the European Courts of Justice in Strasbourg. Anyway, Germany has 25 tabloids which is far many than any other country. France has 5 they said and England even less but there the tabloids are very big so there's less room for competition as there is in Germany. Competition, Prinz said, is driving the editors to come up with more and more outlandish stories. They also use photo montages as well which is a seedy practice to begin with.

The ZDF (Germany) will have a "ein herz für Kinder"-Gala (a heart for children) on 13 December at 8.15 pm/20.15.
Read this at Ritva s board.
Here is what they write about it:

Pressemitteilungen
Königin Silvia von Schweden bekommt Ehrenpreis von „Ein Herz für Kinder“
7. Dezember 2003

there was a interview with silvia this morning on TV4

and the seminar that was given to queen silvia about children will be aired on TV december 29 i think

Helen88 12-13-2003 05:14 PM

Did anyone watch the Ein Herz für Kinder Gala?
Thomas Gottschalk (moderator) called Queen Silvia "Her Royal Highness" and President Rau corrected him, but Gottschalk didn´t notice...
Silvia seemed nervous and tired, I thought...

Lena 12-13-2003 05:20 PM

I´ve watched it..at least the most of it (I switched between ARD and ZDF)...and of course I´ve watched the prize giving to the Queen...Maybe I´m stupid or ignorant...but what´s wrong with "her royal highness"/"ihre königliche Hoheit"? I didn´t notice that Thomas Gottschalk titled her wrong, but it can be...of course
Yes, she seemed very nervous, and made some little mistakes (though the reading sheet)...and she´s talking an cute IKEA-german (=a swedish accent). So she´s speaking swedish with an german accent and german with an swedish accent. And that all with a very smooth and low voice...in an complete opposite to Victoria.

Another special on Queen Silvia in german TV:

Montag, den 22.12.2003
19.25 - 20.15
ZDFroyal

Helen88 12-13-2003 05:54 PM

Well, as far as I know, the wrong thing with HRH is that that´s not Her Majesty´s title...but Gottschalk...well, what do you expect? He´s not Engelbert-Seelmann (or whatever his name is...) ;)

Another one

Lena 12-13-2003 05:58 PM

Couldn´t it be that both versions are allowed...I mean she´s a ROYAL. But you´re probably right "her majesty" would be more right. But this wasn´t the Nobel prize award...and Thomas Gottschalk talked a lot of nonsense this evening.
His name is Rolf Seelmann-Eggebert :P and he´s in fact more accurate, but very stiff too. BTW tomorrow is his "Royalty"-TV again (ARD 14:30)

Josefine 12-19-2003 11:15 AM

december 20

the morning tv show on TV 4 will have Elisabeth Tarras wahlberg as a guest
she will answer questions about the court and royal family so people can call in to the show and ask questions....

Did anyone watch that? I really liked it. It was different from the Seelmannfilms, but the Queen was very sweet and lovely.

"It was different from the Seelmannfilms, "

In what way? I mean I haven't seen the Seelmannfilms.

Lena 12-22-2003 07:55 PM

Well, the Seelmann-movies are quite accurate. Rolf Seelmann-Eggebert seems as if he has swallowed a stick...so stiff. I think he´s a very kind person, with a big heart, but he doesn´t show emotions, and so his questions in the interviews, the accompanying text is similar.

Dont miss the tv special about queen Silvia tonight!

it airs on SVT 1 at 21.30...

It will air on SVT 1 on the 30th of December at 20.00

Josefine 12-27-2003 10:25 AM

I just saw the re rum of the interview with Queen Silvia on SVT 1
She said that she started to learn Swedish a bit, very little the month before the wedding and then after the wedding she studied the Swedish language. She did not want to learn the language before, they dated 4 years, because that would look like she pushed it (a marriage).
And she said that January 1, 1977 she begun to speak Swedish, and told other to speak Swedish with her.

Starting now the Swedish royal year 2003 ON svt

Dennism 12-30-2003 03:13 PM

"She did not want to learn the language before, they dated 4 years, because that would look like she pushed it (a marriage)."

Awwww.

Lena 12-30-2003 03:20 PM

How was the programme???

And what means "awwww" in this case, Dennis???

Dennism 12-30-2003 03:22 PM

I know. It could be the sound that one makes when they are scared as well. But in this case it's roughly translates to "Isn't that cute or Isn't that sweet?"

"She did not want to learn the language before, they dated 4 years, because that would look like she pushed it (a marriage)"

Look like to whom? The press no doubt would pick up on that. Certainly Carl Gustaf would have appreciated his girlfriend learning his native tongue.

Lena 12-30-2003 03:36 PM

Thinking of poor Mary, who have been critisised of some people (or of a certain group on this board... :innocent: ) because of her poor danish on the engagement-day...so I don´t think, that it´s an good idea not to learn the language of your partner/prince...actually everybody I know, who has a partner of a foreign country tries to speak his language.

Dennism 12-30-2003 03:42 PM

I know. I thought of Mary when I just read that. But the thing is that I just think it would have been sweet of her to learn it. Endears her to Carl Gustaf. Not that he needed something else to find to convince himself that she was worth holding onto...

Yennie 12-30-2003 06:06 PM

I liked the programme. Sadly Madeleine and Carl Philip wasn´t able to take part in a interview they were suposed to be doing together with thier sister but other than that the programe was great.
No big surprises but entertaining :P

Dennism 12-30-2003 06:07 PM

That's too bad. But it's good that it was entertaining.

Josefine 12-30-2003 06:10 PM

one could see Victoria chatting with ali at the state visit from Jordan.

Victoria said that she is very proud of her brother and sister, and that they are doing very great in school...
Victoria also said that she feels that her fathers sense of humour seldom is talked about she feels that most f the time it is reported that he is a serious man
She also said that she has more time preparing to be queen then her father could prepare to be king she is the same age now as her father was when he become king

Dennism 12-30-2003 06:12 PM

"Victoria also said that she feels that her fathers sense of humour seldom is talked about she feels that most f the time it is reported that he is a serious man"

that's good. I think we get that impression. Good of her for bringing it up.

Dennism 04-14-2004 02:21 PM

Queen Silvia will be on American TV next week on ABC´s Good Morning America. She will be talking about the World Childhood Foundation.

GrandDuchess 04-14-2004 03:10 PM

Isn't this great - The Queen on "Good Morning America"!

Dennism and I have been trying to find out more about her appearance on the show, but so far no luck. If anyone reads or hear anything about this, please post the info to share with everyone.

I think I know a little bit about her trip to the USA. I read months ago in the Swedish newspapers (in a summary of the Royal House's spring) that she will be in New York for the launch of UNICEF's & the World Tourism Organization Code of Conduct to prevent sexual exploitation, and I also believe I read that there will be some gala for the World Childhood Foundation.

I´ll definately watch!

do you think there will be a interview for victorias birthday
will her birthday eventl be on TV as every year?

Yennie 05-16-2004 09:58 AM

Yes, Victorias birthday (the official celebrations from Borgholm) is broadcasted every year on SVT. Usually there is a interview aswell...

Yennie 06-05-2004 04:30 PM

There is a interview with Victoria on monday June 7th. I think it was about EMU... on tv 4

Since when is Victoria allowed to talk about financial and political issues :o

Do you videotape it Yennie or do you tell us how it was??

Yennie 06-05-2004 05:24 PM

Thats what I was thinking to! But maybe she just talks about EU in general...
Yes, I will record it (if I remember!) and I will report it here too

Lena 06-05-2004 05:35 PM

BTW when is it exactly, because I couldn´t find it on the schedule of TV4 for Monday...maybe they will broadcast it on the web too, but I have no exact date

Yennie 06-05-2004 05:41 PM

I don´t know exactly. I´ll keep my eyes open if it will show the trailer on tv again...

but maybe its this show:
Monday June 7th 19:00 Eu: parlamentet Del 1 av 4.

couldn´t find it but I found another show:

SVT 1 sön 6/6 16.00
Astrid Lindgrens litteraturpris
Från prisutdelningen på Skansen, där litteraturpriset till Astrid Lindgrens minne delades ut av kronprinsessan Victoria.

Lena 06-05-2004 05:54 PM

Ok, thank you Yennie. Maybe they will show this also on the web. At least the celebrations at Skansen are probably shown on the web! SVT tomorrow 20:00 CET

I hope this is a long and detailed interview (even though I don´t think so). Because IMO she didn´t give really long and with more than just "small talk"-interviews in the last couple of months :(

GrandDuchess 06-06-2004 05:50 PM

The TV4 website (https://www.tv4.se/visa/?innehall=/lo.../lopsedel.html) for the programme EU: parlamentet, doesn't say anything about an interview with Crown Princess Victoria. It's the first out of 4 half hours before the elections to the European Parliament. I guess the "commercial" for the programme, where the reporter asks Victoria the question, is just a small piece. I hope they will air more of that interview, but it could also be a short thing (if they at all show it). I couldn't find anything mentioning it...

The commercial for the programme "EU:parlamentet", airing Monday 7th June 19:30 (out of my memory, I think it was like this)

Reporter: If the Crown Princess would be an European Parlamentarian, what issues would the Crown Princess concentrate/focus on?
Victoria: The environment, the trade with people, narcotics - issues that I feel are important and hope will get a lot of attention

Lena 06-09-2004 08:17 AM

How was the interview?

On Sunday (14:30) Royalty-TV (ARD) has a report on Carl Philip. And there´s a report about the new commoner-brides.

Yennie 06-09-2004 11:53 AM

Thank you.

Lena 09-29-2004 06:11 PM

Hm, I don´t remember an interview of Madeleine online. But I know that the german TV-show "Royalty" will have a portrait on Madeleine in the next show on October, 17 th. And they also have these clips online. So you can watch it then.
Yennie had an audio-file with Madeleine´s voice in one of her yahoo-clubs, but I couldn´t find it anymore.

Yennie 09-30-2004 04:48 AM

I have a few clips of the rf. I dont know if they are still working but I´ll post them here and we´ll see!

For those, who can watch the german channel ARD (probably mainly german and dutch ppl). Tomorrow Sunday (17th) at 14:30 there´s again Royalty-TV. And this time they have (among other things) a portrait on princess Madeleine and report about her recent visit to Hälsingland.

There´s also a chance that this report will be online later.

This week swedish kanal 5 aired a show about paparazzis. They followed a paparazzi around Stockholm trying to find Madeleine and Elisabeth Tarras Wahlberg met the reporter Emma and talked about what the royal family thinks about the paparazzis.

The first pics are of the tv-reporter, the photographer and Elisabeth Tarras Wahlberg. The last ones are the "products" of the show, paparazzi photos of Madeleine leaving her apartment.
The pic of Jonas is from the infamous "fight" he had with a member of the "Paparazzia-team" when they took photos of him and Madeleine leaving a restaurant.

November 3rd on swedish tv 4. A reporter "followed" Victoria for a few days. In a personal interview Victoria talks about her life - both her crown princess -and personal life.

Irony is...when Yennie posts Paparazzi-pics from a documentary about Paparazzis ;) But I like them (of course ;) )...thanks for them, Yennie :)

This doesn´t sound too bad but there have been similar shows on American TV and the photographers are just like stalkers. It´s all about them and what they do. It´s not good.

Lena 11-04-2004 06:52 AM

BTW is it just me, or are there others, who think, that Victoria looks on TV (videos....little films) so much better than on pictures?? I mean we all know from pictures that she has big beautiful eyes, but in videos those eyes even look bigger.
And why haven´t we seen pictures of this gala-event at the end of the video-clip?

Yennie 11-04-2004 10:46 AM

I agree with you Lena. Victorias sparkling personality doesn´t show as much in pics as it does in "reality" (meaning: when she talks and moves on tv :) )

and Victoria isn´t a classic beauty/ model kind of person like f.ex queen Rania.
Victoria has so much more charisma and energy that doesn´t show on pics, unlike Rania, who imo is more "boring" and not so lively in person like Victoria is.

"Statsbesöket"Söndag 11 november
TV 8 kl. 22.00

I just read in the paper, that swedish channel 5 will air a "royal" programme this spring. Catharina Hurtig, who used to work for Svensk Damtidning, will host the show and it will focus on all royal houses, but mainly on the younger generation.
She said that it will not be a "gossip" pgrogramme" but more about glamour and gala.

So now we can look forward to lots of news on Madeleine, Victoria and Carl Philip!

Victoria will meet Skurt (a green puppet :) ) this christmas and talk about varios things: christmas, history and perhaps someone named Mr Westling?

Queen Silvias has for the last 12 years given an interview to Skurt every year. Its for a childrens programme so the questions is quite "easy". But now her daughter will take over.
Victoria will give a guided tour around Stockholm Palace and tell stories about life there.
The reason they are doing the show at the palace is that Stockholm Palace this year celebrates its 250 jubileé

the show will air on swedish tv 3 on Christmas day

I hope our posters in germany can do some summery of that
do you think she will speak english

Yennie 12-25-2004 10:48 AM

Dont forget Skurt tonight! And Linda Nybergs show tomorrow!

And then ofcourse, the annual programme about the royal year on January 1st(?)

GrandDuchess 12-26-2004 07:20 AM

Året med Kungafamiljen (The Year with the Royal Family) will be shown on Thursday 6 January 2005 at 20:00 (8 pm) on SVT 1.

I wonder why they've pushed it forward, they usually show it in connection with the New Years, on like 1 January... But now we have to wait this long... :(

Yennie 12-26-2004 03:31 PM

Did anyone see "Tre dygn med Victoria" tonight? What did you think of it?
I liked it, interesting to see how things are "behind the scenes"
What a busy schedule she has! I would never be able to keep up with that, no wonder she needs to spend all that time in the gym :)

Larzen 12-26-2004 05:45 PM

Yes I wached it and liked the behind the scenes shots and really liked the way she described the Expressen reporter Johan T Lindwall... That must be the closest a royal has come to calling someone a **** without saying it.

Other than that I thought the interview with Victoria was booooring, she never tells anything new, its again and again the "I will be queen unless the Swedish people thinks otherwise" and things like that which we`ve heared before. And ETW who I thinks always holyfies Victoria with sentences like "her worst quality is that she works to hard and never wants to say no" or something like that, everyones has some bad sides and it would be nice to hear something other than the diplomatic frases we have heared before.... I liked the interviewer though, not to humbel and quite funny about how it is to take part in such a trip

Lena 12-30-2004 09:45 AM

Since the whole programme is online (I really suggest to watch it...you get an impression of Victoria´s work and the quality of the 3 video clips is super...only problem, you have to register. To find the videos go to: https://www.tv4.se/visa/?ID=346855 then click on any of those webb-TV-links on the bottom. Then a window with a media player will pop up. In this window you will see on the left side links, among others "tre dygn med Victoria" del 1-3. When you are registered, log in. When not, then register firstly via pressing the link under "Ännu inte medlem?" under the media player) I´ve watched it yesterday.

And now to the programme. I agree with Yennie and Larzen. It´s interesting to look behind the curtain. And I also agree that the interview wasn´t especially exciting. Victoria sounded like a third grader, who recited a poem. You could almost see her brain working and how she was thinking "Now I have to give my standard answers again, so that I don´t get in trouble like Pappa".
The only interesting questions in the interview were the ones on Daniel Westling. Victoria wasn´t prepared for them.
I can´t say, if I think it´s smart or if I think it´s cheekily to "blackmail" the press and the ppl, who don´t want Daniel as prince, by saying that she can only do good work, when she´s happy (with a partner...in other words: Danne). I´m also not sure, if I agree. The wrong (when it comes to the monarchy) partner can mean a great damage for the monarchy. This would of course also affect the hard working Royal, or let´s say the image of the hard working Royal. As example I want to mention princess Caroline. I´m sure she´s happy with her Ernst, they really seem to share something special (whatever this is), but for the image of Caroline and Monaco, Ernst August surely wasn´t the best choice.
Yeees, glorifying ETW...it´s amazing and funny to watch how she can praise her protégé with this cold I´ve-taken-5-sleeping-pills voice ;)
Also quite interesting to see Daniel Nyhlén´s clone and rival Expressen´s Johan T. Lindwall. They really look alike (in style and everything). Either they are brothers or a couple ;)
To finish my post with Victoria: 100 points for her work, and how she deals with children. Even not 1 point for her style on the reception on the last day (ponytail, glasses, trousers, a my-boyfriend-is-a-gym-trainer-look-at-my-muscles-shirt)

Well they both look like really slimy reporters on that pics. Like the reporter guy in "Die Hard". :D
Does anybody else think so?

Doesn´t red make agressive?? I hope this hasn´t influenced the interviewers. Maybe that´s why Linda Nyberg has asked so many questions on Daniel W. ;)

GrandDuchess 01-04-2005 07:53 PM

Tomorrow:

Wednesday 5 January at 16:15 PM on SVT1 - Lennart Bernadotte - a memorial programe about the Count that passed away just before Christmas, 95 years old. In the programme he tells about his palace and his life work - the flower paradise Mainau (re-run from a previous birthday I think).

Helen88 01-08-2005 10:03 AM

The show on the Royal Family in 2004 is really nice, but would somebody mind translating the questions and answers the ask the family? I only caught a word here and there because they really speak fast...(at least for someone who is not Swedish ;) )

GrandDuchess 01-08-2005 11:10 AM

Today - National Grieving Service direct broadcasted from Lund's Cathedral (where the Queen attends it, you can read here in which cathedrals the other members of the RF will be), SVT2 at 18:15 PM

Thursday 3 February - a long version of Peter Jihde's interview with the royal children from "Året med Kungafamiljen" ("The Year with the Royal Family), SVT at 21:00

Well reason one1: maybe its already offline

reason 2. You need the real player to see the video. I do not know if ther is a Mac Version but I think yes. If you do not have it you have to install it in advance. the homepage of real is: https://www.real.com.

Great! I admire your resistance watching the whole thing, despite the strange (to you) language. :D I really wish there would be these kind of things (yearly reviews of RF's) online in other countries as well, it would be so cool - and think of all we could learn!

Yennie 01-13-2005 05:26 AM

Tonight, January 13, crownprincess Victoria will attend SVTs special show about the Asian disaster.
Dunno if she will give some kind of interview or if she will just "be there" but it might be worth take a look!

rop81 01-13-2005 04:42 PM

I saw her today at the program about the asian disaster. I think she where great, you can really see who in the royal family it is who is used and trained to meet the media. I think she said some good things without getting in to the deep, and she spoke much faster and did not have to think as long as the rest of the family has done in resent programs. Did anyone else see it? I only saw the beginning of the program, does anyone know if she was intervjued any more?

I saw it too! I think it was nice, if even a bit short... Only a few minutes... But the programme (first of two follow-ups of their fundraising evening earlier) was only one hour, so that's understandable. I think that what you saw was it, at least I didn't catch anything else with her.

Lena 03-09-2005 03:27 PM

Those, who have watched the programme on Kanal 5 and those, who have watched the part on Carl Philip online, what do you think of "Kungligt"?

Personally I liked of course the many nice pictures of Carl Philip (which girl wouldn´t ;) ) but on the whole I think I don´t like this programme. When I think of the german Royalty TV or more conservative swedish TV on Royals (the Royal year) or foreign programmes, than "Kungligt" is like a strawberry flavoured lollipop in comparison to belgian or swiss chocolates.
I´ve just read an interview with the host of the show, Catharina Hurtig (on www.stureplan.se) and she´s asked for the most glamourous Royal houses and she´s coming up with the jet set-kids Charlotte and Andrea and with the sultanate Brunai. Ok, maybe the ponytail of a certain swedish Royal highness looks a bit boring in comparison to the Sultan´s wonder world, but for me the traditonal monarchies, which don´t collect expensive bling bling-trash are 100 times more glamourous. Well, maybe I´m just missing the meaning of the word "glamourous".

Lena 04-22-2005 05:03 PM

Kanal 5 has uploaded a clip of part 5 of "kungligt". It´s about Victoria and how she stays fit and in shape. The moderator of the show has interviewed her to these topics. Strangely I (and others as well) simply can´t open the clip. The player opens, but then it stops and I get the error 0xC00D1197).
So I wonder, if you can open it, and which player and player options you have (press "klipp" next to Victoria´s picture)

Here: mms://wms.it.gu.se/gutv/vfest.wmv is a video with a interview with Victoria talking about science. It was filmed in Gothenburg when she was the to inagurate the Science festival

"Följ Kronprinsessan Victorias invigning av Vetenskapsfestivalen i Göteborg"

Josefine 09-16-2005 08:47 AM

and here is a few old nobel videos

I would love too see a programme about state visit made by the swedish king and queen

GrandDuchess 12-03-2005 05:33 PM

Året med Kungafamiljen/The Year with the Royal Family for this year will air on 28 December at 20:00 (8 PM) on SVT1.

According to SVT's website, Agneta Bolme Börjefors will act as the programme's host again, and the viewers will get glimpses from some of the royal events of the year. We're gonna see bits from Crown Princess Victoria's trips to China, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the King and Queen in Australia, the Royal Official Visit to Norway, and something from Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine's year (doesn't say from what thought).

Yennie 12-03-2005 06:42 PM

it will air on december 28? Thats early... wonder why they changed the date, havent its been on January 1st for the last couple of years??

but, it does sound interesting!
