I love european history . Without doubt it is King Michael I , who incidentally has never abdicated , is THE national symbol for his country .
He ruled twice , 1927-1930 and 1940-1947 . It was this brave man who deposed the fascist Prime Minister Antonescu .
In the years the country was run by the communist dictator Caecescu , it was King Michael who stood as a figure of liberty for his opporessed people .
He is related to our Queen Elizabeth II as he is of course to most of the european royal houses . It is my hope and wish that one day he and his wife Queen Anna return home and once again take their rightful place upon the throne of Roumania .
