My name is Eliana and I'm the one who started this group. And it has twenty-one members so far. Yay! It's been over a year since I last logged in, and I apologize.

So much has happened. First of all, congratulations to Brazil, 2016 Olympics! Por fin! Mexico has been the only other Latin American country to host and I think it was back in the '60's. Once again, congratulations Brazil!

My country (Mexico) has been going through very hard times. I hope, and I'm praying that things look up this year. I hope you all do too, not just for my country but our whole region. And even more so for Haiti and Chile.

I was born in Mexico as well.Congratulations for your initiative on gathering people from Latin America. It is nice to find people from the same area who admire royalty and share our interest in it.

I am sure you share my pride for our royal past. Since the Aztec Empire, then three centuries being part of the Spanish Crown, the first Empire of Iturbide in 1821, and then Maximilian in 1864.

Also Brazil and Haiti have been countries in America that were once monarchies. I very much hope this group can be a means to introduce this part of history to others who may not be aware of it.

Hopefully our hometown will one day reach the standards we deserve, being blessed with history, natural resources, wonderful architecture, privileged weather, Mexico deserves a better faith. May we excell one day in education, culture, respect to the natural environment, civility...
