I actually quite like the dresses worn by both York girls and I am really pleasantly surprised by Letizia's. Wish that Maxima wasn't staying in the hotel so we could see her!

I see Princess Alexandra's son, James Ogilvy and his wife Julia in the photo beside her.

Letizia's dress is gorgeous. It's a pity it's worn by Letizia (and not by e.g. Kate). Those ugly arms, shoulders, back ... keep me from saying: WOW.

His wife is misidentified as Marina Ogilvy, which is completely wrong since she's married and her name is Marina Mowatt. :ermm:

The Sultan's wife is beautiful. They all look great and I wish I were there with them! If I had to choose, I'd rather be at one of the parties than at the wedding. Alas and alack, I'm not anywhere!

Anyone seen any pics of Charlene?

Seriously though, did some memo go out directing all the women wear red? Sonja, Victoria, Sophie, Maria Theresa, Mathilde.....they all showed up wearing red. That's kind of odd, no? Either that or one heck of a coincidence.

Maybe they were all told to NOT wear red tomorrow so they figured they'd get their red fix tonight? LOL!

Well, I don´t like Charlene´s dress. White or slightly gray isn´t a good colour for her, IMO.

Letizia's dress is very beautiful.... Marie-Chantal, elegant as usual...Charlene looks more than fantastic, I love her dress.... And I add a mention for Princess Michael of Kent, in my opinion she is perfect !!

I'm loving the red dresses I'm seeing! And Letizia looks fantastic in her dress! The hairdo looks great on her too. As for Princess Eugenie she looks amazing and The Queen looks very regal and elegant as always.

I LOVE Sofia and Letizia...gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Sonja also looks very pretty, as does Maria Teresa.

Charlene's dress is...odd. Striking, but odd.

Red is the colour of L O V E
so it´s a perfect fit for this occasion :)
Although I think, Letizia topped them all! Simply breathtaking!

does anyone have a beter close up photo

and i may be wrong about the braclet it could be a other one worn by queen silvia and princess lilian

the broch worn by victoria may be from ruby diamond brosch

Most poorly dressed: Beatrice and Charlene. Do you think they asked a designer "Could you please design me something incredibly ugly and over the top?"

Princess Letizia and Princess Victoria are so elegant !

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!

I just now saw Charlene's dress at the pre-wedding event of William & Kate, and am honestly shaking & crying a bit, she looks simply exquisite! Like an honest to God fairytale princess.

I didn't expect this whatsoever, lol, I thought I would see her just wearing a nice dress like she did at Victoria & Daniel's wedding last year, but this blew me out of the water. She truly is a fitting heir to Charlotte, Grace, and Caroline. She continues the tradition of beauty, elegance, charm, fashion icon.

I present to you Miss Charlene Wittstock, future First Lady of Monaco:

Erk! Is it moulting season? What the heck was Charlene thinking?!?

fairy tale said:

Is this dress white? I hope it isn't...even though the weddings tomorrow I still feel like NO ONE should wear white right now.

I think she tried to outdo all of the other ladies attending and she missed the mark. The bottom of this is nice but this is not a good look for her.

Wow I like such party's wich a lot of nice dressing's. It's a pitty Maxima is not there! Thanks for all the pics. Tomorrow we hope to see more.

L-O-V-E Letizia, Victoria and Sophie. I actually thought the York girls looked pretty. Didn't care for Charlene's dress, but I still think it looked nice on her. Didn't like M-C's dress. Camilla looked very nice. Mathilde looked elegant. All the men looked very handsome!!!

If only Mary, Mette-Marit and Rania were there as well. Sigh.

She is there; Willem-Alexander and Maxima are staying at the Mandarin Hotel, so there would be no pictures of them arriving like all the other royals.

Regarding outfits tomorrow, don't forget that protocol and convention dictates that no guest should 'outshine' the bride. Apart from not wearing white, cream or other pale colours that look almost white [e.g some ice blues, pale greys and pale pinks are all 'out'], it is generally regarded as very bad form to wear any colour or outfit that is 'too dominant' and therefore might in some way detract from the bride. Also remember that the Ceremony is in fact a religious one first and foremost, and so a certain amount of decorum is called for.

In other words, tonight's party hosted by Lady Elizabeth Anson [whose mother was in fact married to Prince Georg of Denmark] is really the main opportunity for these Royal ladies to shine. And, on a personal note, I have to say that many of the royal ladies have really got things right. Incidentally, I always feel for Princess Alexandra - it is hard for her to appear at social events now that Sir Angus Ogilvy[who always did a sterling job of supporting his wife at many Royal Engagements even though he was not obliged to do so] is dead, and I am so pleased that she was being escorted by her son an daughter in law.

[totally off-track - think that Marina Mowatt (mentioned earlier in this thread) has been divorced for some years; she has been reconciled with the BRF however and lives in a Grace-and-favour residence [courtesy of the Queen] in Windsor Great Park.]

Of course one cannot always trust the English Newspapers, but some have been speculating on the chance of a faux pas from Carole Middleton. One interpretation of the unfortunate Lindka Cierach business is that Carole Middleton was becoming over-fussy about her outfit. True, it is a very, very important day for her, and she is obviously going to be on display to literally billions of people, and I know that in ordinary weddings Mothers of the Bride often decide to change their original choice of outfit, but Linka Cierach is a couturier with good taste and experience and I am sure that she would not have let Carole Middleton down and would have provided a dress of the utmost good taste and suitability......and it is really just not 'done' to cast aside a couturier like that....

Other English newspaper reports show photos of 'black sheep Uncle Gary Middleton' leaving a tanning salon yesterday, where he had been 'topping up his tan'. The tabloids also report that he has been ordered to cover up all his tattoos. [which presumably his morning coat would have done anyway, but still...] The papers have also reported that Carole Middleton has also been 'topping up her tan' but with less-than-successful results apparently, as she is a too-bright shade of orange....

I'm a bit worried about Catherine actually; she is going to do her own make-up; whilst I entirely agree with her on her wish to look her usual self and avoid 'fuss', I think that doing your own make-up when you are going to have to cope with the light AND the heat from all that tv lighting in the studio is going to be very difficult to get right. Even Princess Anne, known as a very down-to-earth person who cared little for clothes and fashion, chose a make-up artist in order to get appropriate professional help.
