Fur on Royals

I have noticed that Mary wears a lot of fur, something I'm quite disappointed in. :nonono:

Royals and fur

I know this is sometimes a difficult subject, but I think fur looks extremely royal. :flowers:
Are there any royals who are against fur?

I totally agree with you, furs are extremely royal...
I don't know royals against them, but I know some royals who use furs:

I personally love furs.I think they are elegant and glamourous. Thanks mafan for the pics:flowers:

I love fur. There are good and bad looking furs. I think Mary has a few great fur pieces that I love. I wouldn't mind having one of my own.

I really like the first and the third. Thanks, Zubiaur!

I think Princess Grace's mink fur coats were the first and the last ones.

re fur looking very royal

Princess Maria Laura of Belgium does not look like a princess at all with this fur (and the high heels and short skirt). I will not say what she does look like :flowers: Lets just say that if I were her mother I would not let her dress like that

Totally agree...moreover it was the 6th of december, it was cold in Belgium (I guess), and in my opinion this dress is too short for that period of the year...

I can't see any pics...

I was wondering it the royals wear real fur... I'm not sure if the question was ever talked about, but the jackets wore by Queen Margrethe, for instance, are they real fur?

Indeed they are. When you can afford the real thing you don't schlep about in fake.

I have a question. Why is it that no one ever complains about Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Margrethe or Crown Princess Mary wearing real fur?? They seem to get some sort of exemption.

As far as I know no one complaints about E II wearing fur probably because she wears the stuff she already has or has them remodeled. Please correct me if I am wrong but I have never seen an article about it.

They do ask her / the government to stop using fur for the Royal Guards:

http://unbearablecruelty.com/ (warning:has a shoking picture of a bear)

.........Please write a polite letter requesting a reply and urging Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Secretary of State for Defence John Hutton, MP, to immediately stop supporting the killing of bears while they work on replacing the real fur used in the guards' hats with cruelty-free faux fur:

The Private Secretary to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales

The Danish royals... as someone who does not like fur I do admit that Mary can carry it off, lots of women look silly in fur imo and the Danish have a famous fur shop?
Perhaps Isabella will stop the tradition :flowers:

No, people complain about them to.

Young european royals?

Could it be that the young princesses of europe (without CP Mary of course:angel:) do not really often weare fur?

I personally wouldn't wear fur. I once got a coat as a gift and it was always a strange feeling to wear it. BUT in my opinion fur belongs to royal Ladies like the sun to the sky. And there are great pictures in this thread. :)
