Questions about Tonga or Royal Family Lines??? Just ask!!

If anyone had/has any question or comments on Tonga's Royal Lineages, or anything...shoot me a note, and I will answer or get the answer for you...

Vai, I have a question for you, a poster had claimed that BRF's Prince Andrew is to be engaged with a member of the Tonga Royal Family. Any truth to this?
Thanks! :flowers:

BTW, a lot of Tonga residents play American football for our Pac-10 conference. They ROCK!

I haven't heard anything "Russophile", but indeed it is intresting, the Tongan Palace hasn't made any public comments on it (if it is indeed true)... lol, but thanks to you I have something new to look up...lol i'll let you know if I find anything... vai

The Tamaha/TM: daughter/son of= d/s/o:

-Princess Fonokimoana d/o: TTF:Sinaitakala-'i-Langileka
-Princess Tu'imala d/o: TTF: 'Ekutingapipiki
-Princess Simuoko d/o: TTF: Sinaitakala-'i-Lotunofo
-Prince Feileua Veasi: s/o: TTF: Tupou Moheofo
(the only known male of the Tamaha rank)
-Princess Fatafehi Latufuipeka d/o: TTF: Nanasipau'u
-Princess 'Amelia Fakahiku-'o-'uiha d/o: TM: Fatafehi Latufuipeka

The Tamaha also held a greater position (as with her/his mother),
This "position" was deemed highest within the family, they were only
allowed to marry a foreigner- that their blood, would not be seen
as more "Eiki" or "higher" than the Tongan King or Queen.

=With that in mind; that is why my Great-Grandmother's mother-
'Ema Luisa Manu Mateialona married James Hosier Herbert Brown
(Scottish/Maori descent). From my Great-Grandfather also descending
from royal lines (see my connections) he married into another Noble
family.

I also have some information on his Scottish ancestry that I recieved after
researching Scotland's Government Website.

Vai, is that kind of like the Hawaiians and the Egyptians: they married cousins, brothers and sisters to keep the blood pure though every once in a while married a foreigner to strengthen the blood?

Not brothers/sisters, but to keep the blood "Eiki" (royal/higher)- the lines are
still intertwined...descendants of the "Tu'i Tonga", the families "within" these connections.

Ngati Awa Tribe. is this from New Zealand?

note spelling: Jaffna

what did you discover on Scotland's government's site? is this scotlandspeople?

thank-you

A fine piece of scholarship herein dear friend. Nice to see your roots are spread high and low far and wide as well.

Hi norenxaq,
Yes, the Ngati Awa Iwi (Tribe) of Bay of Plenty (Eastern Bay), New Zealand.

yes, thank you...Jaffna...I just checked back on my family website, my
spelling really bites sometimes...

i don't remember the exact name, the information i received, i just copied and pasted to my computer's notepad, i didn't think to document the website page- sometimes, i guess, i get dingy when being flushed with information... Is "scotlandspeople" a government website?

nope...lol...it wasn't "scotlandspeople", but thanks to you...i am a new member...lol thank you!!

Hello

My name is Che Brown and I am the great grandson of James Hoiser Herbert Brown.

**Grandpa James Hosier Herbert Brown had various other children...

This is where my side of the family comes in....

I would like to find out the Scottish side of the family. If you have any information please contact me on chebrown@hotmail.com. It would be very interesting to find out and if you would like to know anything else about my side of the family I would be more then happy to swap notes. I live in New Zealand. Ngati awa is our tribe in NZ and Te tawera is our Hapu or marae. There is a bit of a dispute as to what tribe our marae is linked to (could be either Ngati awa or the other one of Tu wharetoa).

I also have a few other names from the Driberg side of the family but I have to get the papers off my sister to comfirm.

Anybody else interested or has any other info please feel free to contact me

This is an excellent piece of research, Vai. I have Tongan friends and acquaintances who will enjoy reading this, when I email this link.

Vai, malo cousin for all the details, really enjoying the information. I am the grandson of Siaosi Tupou Brown son of Grandpa James H. Herbert Brown. Interesting to see all the connections.

Hi I would like where hafoka originated from
