Hypotheticals

It is an impressive piece of work and i think David is right to include those of the Roman Catholic faith, on the list, as the Act of Succession may change in the future. My point is entirely hypothetical. King Harald of Norway is the first reigning Monarch to appear in the line of succession, as great grandson of Edward VII. Would it be possible for Harald to reign as King of Norway AND King of the United Kingdom, if the British Crowns were to be inherited by him?

Hypothetical: Yes - no laws against it

(Georgieboy King of Hanover and Great Britain; the Habsburgs Kings of Spain AND Imperator of the holy roman empire; King of Hungary AND Imperator of Austria etc.. just to name some)

Today, I dought it very much, that it would be feasible and accepted

King Harald and the British Throne

Thank you, Nice. Yes, i rather agree with you. What was politically acceptable 400 years ago, is no longer so. The rights of Kings and the blood ties of family, appear to count for very little these days. How regretable......

Line of Succession web site

I'd like to introduce you to my web site - Line of Succession. It contains the top thirty names in the British line of succession on every day in the last two hundred years. There are plenty of sites that will tell you the current line of succession, but I don't know of any other site that contains as much historical data.

Please let me know if you find it interesting or useful. Happy to answer any questions that you might have.

Cheers,

Dave...
