King Rama had the Lord Chamberlain delivering a speech of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej . As he is concerned about the national security, as well as feelings and happiness of all Thais, whom he hopes to ensure national security and people's happiness, to consider the royal message for the Elections.

"The excerpt reads in terms of public administration, there are both good and bad people in the country. No one could make everyone good. Maintaining national peace and order is therefore not about making everyone good; it's about supporting good people so they can govern and prevent bad people from grabbing power and creating trouble and unrest. – Speech given at the National Jamboree at the Vajiravudh International Scout Camp, Chonburi, 11 December 1969"

The aim is to give a moral support and to encourage the performance of duties for the sake of unity, national security and people's happiness. It is also a reminder of the great contributions of the late King and also Queen Sirkit.

And he has a son with her, right?

That expression on Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's face.

Very interesting, and the timing is unexpected.

I was on the point of writing the same!

The news is not surprising. Queen Suthida's pink ensemble is lovely.

Official News Montage:
The article is a bit misleading in narration. Laying before the feet or prostrations are common in Thai culture. It's a gesture of utmost respects usually with monks or someone older. Princess Galyani Vadhana, despite being older, also prostrated before King Bhumibol's feet when she was made Princess of Naradhiwas in 1995.
And no, nothing under this reign made sense and not gonna make sense, probably.

I would’ve thought the King would’ve played the role of King & Queen. ;)

Apparently the new Queen and her older stepdaughter are the same age.

Anything known about the new Queen?

Anything known about the new Queen?

Wikipedia - although not always the best of sources - might be a good start. She once was a flight attendant; and raised quickly in military ranks since joining her now husband's guard in 2014.

Yes, she is only a few months older. Her birthday is June 1978, her stepdaughter was born in December. She is only 9 years older then her youngest step-daughter for that matter. The only one of her stepchildren she is old enough to be the parent of is the new crown prince who is 14.

They have been involved since her stewardess days, when he was married to his third wife.

Prince Dipangkorn has his own mother.

And where is his mother? He has right to have regular contact with her.

Prince Dipangkorn has his own mother.

But he is raised in Germany by his father and the new queen - he goes to school near Tutzing in Upper Bavaria.

:previous: Apparently his mother Srirasmi Suwadee is under house arrest in Ratchaburi under appalling conditions.

Just saw this on twitter. I don't follow Thailand's royals much but WOW. Glad the King's 2nd wife escaped.

I am speechless. What did she do to deserve that?

If he is that cruel, yes, glad his 2nd wife escaped. His first wife was a princess, so I don't think he would do much to her. Pity he didn't follow his father's footsteps of marrying just one woman on the course of his entire life.
