The Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King of Malaysia), Mizan Zainal Abidin, and his wife, Raja Permaisuri Agong (Queen of Malaysia) Tuanku Nur Zahirah, are paying a state visit to Thailand from 9 to 12 March 2009.

The ceremonies include a presentation of the keys of Bankok to the King, and the granting of an honorary degree by Prince of Songkhla University.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, the King of Malaysia, was received with full military honours at Bangkok's military airport at the start of a four day state visit to neighbouring Thailand.

The King and Queen Nur Zahirah - Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah - were met by Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn and Princess Sirindhorn, who stood in for King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit.

The Royal guests had an audience with the King and Queen of Thailand at the Grand Palace, preceded by the exchange of Royal Decorations. In the evening, the King and Queen of Thailand hosted a state banquet.
