Hmm, I wonder what kind of 'ankle pain injury' leads to a 2 months pause... Must be rather serious as 2 months seems quite a lot of time if it is something more minor.

Thai Royal Household released the latest statement as Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn suffered from an accident during the morning exercise on 11 January 2021, of which caused her injury with both her ankles. The Princess is asked undergo an operation and has been admitted to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok today on 19 January 2021.

Andrew MacGregor Marshall, an ever-well-informed journalist on Thailand's monarchy, says Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was attacked by her brother, the King.

EXCLUSIVE—The recent severe injuries to Princess Sirindhorn’s ankles were not sustained in a “walking accident” but were the result of violent assault by her brother King Vajiralongkorn, several royal sources say.

I first heard rumours last week that Vajiralongkorn had attacked his sister but they seemed so lurid that I assumed they were just exaggerated gossip. However, the story is now being confirmed by trusted sources.

Sirindhorn has just had surgery on both her ankles and is now at Chulalongkorn Hospital. It’s unlikely she will be able to walk for several months.

That explains why it isn't so minor... Is it jealousy because of her popularity?

I really feel for the princess. She's been the stable part of the family for all her life and now this...

Whaaaat?!?!
That is just nuts! I wish her a speedy recovery and hope she continues her engagements via wheelchair.

It seems the King us bent on destroying the monarchy

He did what to her? unbelievable, I hope she will be well protected. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Don't give much credit to Andrew. He's a liar. An alchoholic who was fired from Reuters. Even other Thai monarchy critics don't like him much, especially Pavin Chachavalpongpun.

In this tweet, Somsak Jeamteerasakul said the rumour was not true. The Princess fell because her dog ran into her which left both of her ankles injured. What's more interesting is that he came up with another rumour regarding the Royal Noble Consort.

Thai Royal Household released the third statement about Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s condition after undergoing an operation as she fell down during exercising on 11 January 2021. The operation was processed successfully on 20 January 2021. The Princess is recovering well, and will be staying at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok, following the doctor’s advice.

I am glad the princess has recovered enough to be released from the hospital.

Hopefully she continues to make a good recovery. And we see her again soon. She does a wonderful job of representing Thailand.

I am glad to see her. She looks very lovely. It was stated that her brother the King did this to her, this is beyond everything. I hope this is not what brotherly love looks like?? I wish her the best and a speedy recovery.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has had very much improved with her health condition. From her latest appearance on 13 May, she is seen able to walk as normal. However, according to the royal staff, the Princess has not really 100% recovered.

According to a royal staff at Sra Pathum Palace, the Princess has been better, but not really 100% recovered. Everything must still be in doctors’ advice. The equipment has still been already prepared for any emergency cases occurred.

I'm not sure if there was any member of the Thai RF at the State Funeral of Elizabeth II?
