The fact that a successor is not popular is no argument to swap him for his sister. Imagine that Charles is simply bypassed for his sister Anne or his son William. It would make the monarchy a sort of X-factor. When the Crown Prince becomes King, the whole Household encloses him as an oyster. He becomes so tightened as he never has been as Crown Prince. His only right to move is to breath, for the rest every step will be guided. No worries.

Today, a team of Siriraj Hospital physicians reported that on October 11, His Majesty's blood pressure decreases, pulse rate increases and more state of Acidosis. The result of blood test also confirms more infections with irregularities in the liver. Antiboitic has been used, Acidosis has been mitigated and there are more uses of medicine that controls blood pressure. The team also provides His Majesty a ventilator and Hemofiltration (CRRT; Continous renal replacement therapy). Overall health condition of His Majesty is still unstable, must be restrained by medicines. The team of physicians is attending and monitoring His Majesty's health condition closely.

Is the Queen also at his side?

No one knows exactly how the Queen's current condition is. No palace announcements on that issue announced. Many speculate that she is in the same state of unconsciousness like the King.

Personally I wish they would just let the poor Man Die.. prolonging his agony serves no purpose.. The same applies to the Queen if she is as ill as her husband.

From an ethic point of view the best thing would be to let the King go to God now. His body has suffered enough. But i fear that for the stability of Thailand the best thing would be to keep him alive as long as possible.

There is no reason to think that Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn won't become King when his father goes but it remains to see wether people will like him and wether the court and the military government will trust him.

Does it take the fear away when an ailing and unconscious King is three or six more days on life support? Thailand is not that unstable. The country and it's Government went on, for years and years, with a head of state in extremely frail condition. With other words: whoever is on the throne, the world turns on.

I am not that sure that the political situation in Thailand is "that" stable with the military junta in government......
