But it should be an issue for the Thai government to look after that their Head of State doesn't spend much of the year abroad. Not really an Issue for the german Government which could also harm the diplomatic relationes between the 2 countries.

And I think the Thai government wouldn't necessarily be that unhappy with King Rama spending most of his time abroad.
Even though it might be even happier (delighted in fact) if he spend all his time in a palace in a province far from Bangkok. Only to be wheeled out on occasion. Then he'd be the ideal "rubber-stamp".
The problem is of course his erratic behavior in regards to his family and those who surround him.
The Thai people want stability and the government want stability, especially since the position of the government is based on the king's... acceptance.
I'd say as the situation is right now, where the Thai people are increasingly questioning the rule of King Rama, he will be "abdicated" the moment his erratic behavior interferes with the government.
Who is left to support him?
The politicians?
The royal family?
The people?
The rest of the military?

I hope he don't make Bavaria his primary home. The Bavarian people need him like they need Stalin on Steroids. He need's to remember he is the King, the head of state, this makes him a Servant of the people he rules, if he like it or not.

It has been his permanent home for many years now. His son basically grew up there.

Queen Suthida looks lovely as ever. King Rama looks frail, maybe there is something not right with him health wise that is.

He has always been interfering with government, "Elephant Ticket" that show in motion of no confidence 3 days ago is another example of interference.

Does anyone know what is happening in the 4th picture. Why is Sineenat bowing on the King's feet?

Every time I see a picture with people doing this, it reminds me more of groveling rather than bowing in respect.
Reminds me of Yule Brynner in "The King and I" where he states that " No One's Head Should be Higher than Mine".

Neither one looks very happy with this rather unnatural situation. At least the queen was clearly positioned ahead of her rival.

This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know how the people of Thailand feel about her? She is not a member of the Kings family, only his.... It must feel a bit strange to the people, or don't they care? Her out fit looks great.

Not sure this is true for all others here, but it seems that all the links Eya has posted further above have only a brief lifespan.

Have there been any recent sightings of the King? Do we know if he is still in Thailand, or has he retreated to Germany again?
