In most pictures, Princess Aiko looks more like her father; but I think that she looks a lot like her mother in the picture of her on horseback.

Indeed she was. That was during her first years as princess, in November 1994. At the time, her husband obviously burst with pride when, during the trip, he told journalists: “Quite frankly, I have the impression that Masako has done a very good job.”
