Princess Masako in the spotliight as succession debated
Smiling serenely and elegantly dressed in a sharp pinstripe suit, Japan's Crown Princess Masako stepped out for a rare formal engagement in Tokyo. Giving no hint of the uncertainty surrounding her family since news broke of her sister-in-law's pregnancy, the glowing 42-year-old viewed bonsai trees with husband, Crown Prince Naruhito at an exhibition in the country's capital........................

Thanks purple_platinum! I think when Masako is at her best, she outshines all the other princesses.

Thanks, Jess! I think she is looking great these days -- I love that her hair is a bit longer -- she looks "softer" to me. Hang in there, girl!

Thanks, Mandyy. I really like the longer hair -- much softer. Gosh, she sure looks happier these days and I hope it is how she truly feels.

Thanks Mandyy for the pics. They are great.
Aiko looks very unhappy though. As she almost always does when media is somewhere nearby.:(

Yes, I hope so, too. Does anyone know anything about him?

Wonderful updates, Mandyy! Thank you so much for the comprehensive coverage of this event. Aiko is so obviously well loved and looks like a pretty confident 4 year old despite the nerves any child would have on such a day. The photos are precious -- I especially like her little uniform!

thanks you for the wonderful photos, she's the cutest little girl in that hat with her sweet innocent face. the 3rd photo in the second set of post 147 made my heart smile, she looks so precious and alot like her father. I love this family they seem so happy and content together.

I'm thrilled to hear about ambassador nomura joining the royal household, sounds like if anyone can take on the evil cabal of old men in the IHA -it's him. I hope its the beginning of an easier time for the princess. she can take heart that they(evil IHA) tried to crush and destroy her but she came out more beautiful and serene than ever.

I know are postings at the other thread (Southeast Asian Tour) but this one is focused on Masako (who, in my opinion, looks her loveliest in recent years).

Oh I'm so happy to see Masako so cheerful and beautiful. She deserve to be happy and joyous every step of her Royal life. Her situation is so similar to empress Michiko when she was crown princess. Empress Michiko's struggle was even more stronger than Masako, yet she overcome and became happy. I wish Masako for the same to overcome her opstical.

Happy Anniversary for Crown Prince Naruhito & Crown Princesss Masako!
