Aiko has grown up so much. There is something special about that family that makes me wish them the best in the future. Maybe their difficulty in having a child, the pressure to have a boy, the psychological difficulties of the princess, the promise her husband made before their marriage to always stand by her and watching him do so. All in all I enjoy every happy family pictures I see of them.

thanks >fanletizia

Thanks kei893265 for the pics. I believe that Aiko managed a wee smile in the last picture. I'm glad that Masako finally looks happy. :)

Yes! You expressed very beautifully just what I was trying to say!

Is this their return from vacation? I am hoping so because it means they (Masako esp.) have had a long vacation. I know I've posted this sentiment before but I am so hoping this young woman will have a full recovery.

The pictures from Nagano station on August 29th wasn't them coming back from holidays but going on another holiday. They had already returned to Tokyo from their last holiday and Naruhito had performed some royal duties.

Nagano isn't close to Tokyo from memory I think it's about an hour by bullet train away and the royals have a holiday home in the area and each summer they spend a few days there. Nagano hosted the Winter Olympics in 1998 and it's a beautiful area in summer and very popular amongst the Japanese as a hiking area. Both Masako and Naruhito are keen hikers and there have been past photos of them in the Nagano area hiking.

Charlotte, thank you for clearing up the vacation question. I am also happy to see this news about replacing the chief chamberlain -- I trust this is a good move and will result in some changes for the better for the CP's family.

Thanks you so much mandyy. Those photos were really wonderful, really real life of The Crown Prince's family, i really love Aiko and MAsako's smile, it's not really often seeing them smiling and really relax, really in real life like that.

Any more news of Crown Princess Masako, Princess Aiko and Crown Prince Naruhito? I like them but don't see a lot of news about them. I hope Masako can handle coming out and doing a few public events... sort of royal light duty so we see more of her.

I saw a picture of Crown Princess Masako attending the wedding of Crown Prince Philippe in Belgium a few years ago. She looked very happy.

It's a shame that the IHA can't find something for this intelligent and capable woman to do. The Crown Princess's situation must be having a negative impact on her daughter, too.

This is the first time I've checked out this thread in awhile, and its good to see Masako out and about. I'm sure this has been discussed before but it frustrates me when she takes the blame for not having a boy. What is the point? They have a beautiful, healthy daughter. The IHA should look on the positive aspects of the their life. Besides, they should open a biology textbook...it might be helpful. It's not her fault she had a girl, technically it is the male sperm that decides all that....I understand tradition etc. etc. etc. But there comes a point where we all need to move on and let Aiko be Empress!

Great to see Masako out and great to see her at a function that appears to have some substance as opposed to just a ceremonial function. She has such a formidable intellect and I hope that gets put to good use.

Japan panel wants women on throne

The change could allow Princess Aiko (left) to ascend the throne

Japan should change its succession laws to let women take the throne, a government panel has concluded. The 10-member panel has been debating the issue since January in response to a crisis facing the Imperial Household. Japan's 71-year-old ruling emperor, Akihito, has two sons and a daughter, but none of them have so far produced a male heir to ensure the succession.

Oh dear, how this time going:confused: I remember Aiko as a newborn and now she is so grown up....

Just wondering does anyone know how the crown prince meet his wife, how long they were dating for, and I have also heard that he had to propose more than once, is that true?

Crown Princess Masako has been smiling genuinely and happily this times compared to the previous months especially last year when she had this depression.

I really admire the great support that the Crown Prince is giving to her wife. It really shows his deep love for his wife and Princess Aiko.
