A team from Miyagi Prefecture won the final match against a team from Tokyo. After the game, the CP family also spoke to players of both teams for about 40 minutes beyond the scheduled time. Princess Aiko asked about training; CP Naruhito and CP Masako thanked them for the wonderful game.

Has Masako's health improved? She is working a lot lately.

I think so. More public appearances and wearing kimonos again. Her health remains somewhat precarious. There was a period last fall where she relapsed and could not go to Iwate Prefecture. The IHA seems to be spacing out her public appearances. She didn't go to Malaysia in April which was between the Spanish state visit, Aiko's school events, and spring garden party.

Asahi reports the CP couple asked after injured wrestlers and CP Masako wants to bring Princess Aiko at the next opportunity.

Beautiful! I don't think I've seen Masako in kimono before. The Empress off and on, but this is the first time I've seen Masako in kimono.

The kimono is such a beautiful and feminine garment. With her hair up and in her national dress, she looks regal as well as pretty. :flowers:

To JSH: Scroll about half-way down this article, and there's a picture of Naruhito and Masako in their ceremonial wedding dress. I'm not sure whether this is considered a kimono, but it's stunning. Japan's Princess Masako Makes a Rare Public Appearance

Thanks Mermaid1962! I hadn't seen that before. It is a type of kimono worn in ancient times by aristocratic women. Yes, it is spectacular!
