i think they're friends. I've seen pictures of Noor leaving a New York restaurant after having dinner with him. Im sure they have quite a few things in common, both of them support similar social/political causes.

It seems like such a downhill slide for QN. She used to socialize with movers and shakers, now it's either entertainment industry types or socialites. :(

On the contrary. Bono is has been working tirelessly to raise awareness of issues like funding for AIDS and helping poor africans get access to aids medication. He's been to Canada many times, for example, to get support from political leaders and the prime minister and ask for support for his cause. Only a couple of months ago, he was at a leadership convention here and asked the current canadian prime minister for more aids funding. He was also in the US for the political conventions a couple of weeks ago asking for the same thing. I dont know about the States but I know that Canada has increased its contribution.
Bono is also involved with the UN. So is Angelina Jolie, which is why, im sure, Queen Noor got to know her in the first place.

Angelina Jolie's really into the refugee issue and has been to several areas like Afghanistan, cambodia etc. I've heard something about her being made the goodwill ambassador for the UN.
Yes, she is Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR. That is how she first came to Jordan, in connection with the refugees after the war last year. I guess that is how Q. Noor got to know her.
I was watching a video of an interview she did with Larry King in 1999, 4 months after the King's death. She was very adamant Jordan would remain her home and base. But everything I read about her lately implies she is spending far more time in the US than Jordan. I heard she was seriously considering giving her last home in Jordan--Ba'ab al Salaam--to her son, Ali. I know she has not been made to feel very welcome by KA and QR but if she really felt Jordan was home, wouldn't she still live there primarily? It's interesting how many changes she has made with her living arrangements since his death.....selling their estate in England, selling their home in Potomac and moving to a rented home in McClean, and now considering giving up their home in Jordan. One would think she would cling to the places where she lived and was happy with her husband.....or maybe the memories are too painful. But, right after his death, she started making all these fast choices......Seems odd. Is she hard up for money too?
