Centennial of the Great Arab Revolt - June, 2016
The Hashemite royal family will celebrates throughout this year the centenary of the Great Arab Revolt launched by their great-great grandfather Sharif Hussein Bin Ali.

Amman, Jan. 3 (Petra)-- The executive committee responsible for the country’s celebrations on the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt, a pivotal historical event in defining the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Arab independence, has revealed a new emblem marking the occasion.
The emblem will be used in official correspondence throughout 2016.
Following the release of this commemorative emblem, popular and official ceremonies are planned to take place throughout 2016, celebrating the centennial anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt launched by Al Sharif Hussein bin Ali, the great grandfather of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

King patronizes start of Great Arab Revolt centennial celebrations
Aqaba, Jan 23 (Petra) –– His Majesty King Abdullah II Saturday led a ceremony in Aqaba to raise the flag of the 1916 Great Arab Revol, heralding the start of the Kingdom's celebrations of the revolt's centennial.
The commemorations were launched in the southern city of Aqaba, the first command centre on Jordanian soil of the Great Arab Revolt, whose armies, aided by Jordanian tribes, entered the city in 1917 to help realize the revolt's goals of the Arabs' unity, freedom from the Ottoman rule and renaissance.

King attends ceremony marking Veterans Day
Amman, Feb. 15 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday attended a ceremony in honour of war veterans and retired servicemen, marking Veterans Day within Jordan's celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt.
During the ceremony, which was held at the King Hussein Bin Ali Brigade at the Royal Court and attended by hundreds of retired servicemen, war veterans as well as injured military personnel, the King watched silent infantry parade and another by the Jordan military brass band in celebration of the revolt's centennial.

The Celebrations scheduled up to June 2016:
March 28th:King Abdullah II presents the flag of His Majesty the Supreme Commander to the King Hussein 40th Royal Armored Brigade.
April 2nd: Opening of the Parliamentary life Museum.
May 25th:Independence Day.
May 26th: Reopening of the martyrs memorial after renovation.
June 2nd: The Centenary of the Great Arab Revolt special military parade.
June 3rd: Celebrations of the capital Amman.

His Majesty King Abdullah II presents the King’s Colours to the 40th King Al-Hussein bin Talal Royal Armored Brigade Battalions. The ceremony was attended by Prince Feisal, Prince Hamzah, Prince Hashem & Prince Rashid Al Hassan.

King presents prestigious banner to Al Hussein Bin Talal 40th Armored Brigade,
Qatraneh, April 4 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday handed over the banner of "His Majesty the Supreme Commander" to three battalions of the King Hussein Bin Talal 40th Armored Brigade.
The banner was presented to Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II First Mechanized Battalion, the Second Armored Battalion, and Prince Ali bin Al Hussein 4th Tank Battalion during an official military ceremony that was attended by a number of royal family members and top civil and military officials.

Today, Thursday is a public holiday in Jordan as the Kingdom officially celebrates the Centennial of the Great Arab Revolt.The king will attend a special military parade to mark this occasion.
