As the Marchioness of Sala (aka Princess Maria Carolina ;)) is the only one of Princess Irene´s children who doesn´t have a thread of her own, I think it is about time that one was created, so here it is.

Does anyone know of any previous relationships Princess Maria Carolina has had?

Princess Maria Carolina is a hard worker and travels a lot.
Maybe there is not so much time left to find a soulmate, but if I remember well she was in the company of an American man at the Peter Stuyvesant ball last year and she enjoyed her evening very much.

This isn't the niece that causes all the trouble is it? The one who said Queen Beatrix is mean and drinks too much alcohol?

Is there a good picture of this princess?

That was her sister,Princess Margarita, but that is all past and forgiven & forgotten now.

At the wedding of prince Pieter-Chritiaan the princess was escorted by hereditairy prince Alexander von Isenburg. At the time it was suggested by some media that they werwe a couple but they have never been seen together afterwards (or before).

She was also linked to the prince of Asturias before his wedding. But more as a possible candidate. The two had lunch together once (I believe in the presence of king Juan-Carlos and Duke Carlos-Hugo, but nothing came of it.

Now Maria Carolina became engaged to Albert Brenninkmeijer of the C&A owner family ( very rich people).Congratulations ! She would have never married Isenburg, because she's a city girl and Birstein is quite isolated and lonley with a cold climate during the year.

When will she get married?

Alphonse-Ludgerus? I thought her fiance's name was Albert.
As for the date, it is fixed as I had supposed; after her brother's child's birth.
She will marry the same day as Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein.

Is her fiance a Catholic or a Protestant? Anyone knows?

In fact his full name is Albert Alphons Ludgerus Brenninkmeijer; if I recall correctly, he is Catholic.

Ludgerus is quite a common name among the Brenninkmeijers; also Albert's grandfather, father and brithers, as well as some of his cousins, have it as middle name.

Oh OK,good we know,as the wedding is this saturday and will be a va et vient all the Oranjes,as far as possible!:flowers:

She's expecting in the mid of May, so she's 6.5 months along now! She hasn't got such a big belly yet. Just like her sister-in-law she 'announced' her pregnancy on the red carpet, without making a normal announcement.

Wow! Congratulation :flowers:
That's wonderful news.
I think their first child may be a boy named Hendrik :whistling:

Congratulations to the couple! :flowers: A little playmate for Princess Cecilia.

Baby's father is not titled, so I don't think it will be.
Congrats!

Princess Margarita's children wear the name of their father Tjalling. They are Julia ten Cate and Paola ten Cate.

I guess the child of Maria-Carolina and Albert will be XXX Brenninkmeijer.

Too bad, the mother should be allowed to pass her title on to her children, or does she have a brother and therefore the titles goes to his children?

Congratulations to the parents to be :flowers:

Yes she does have a brother, Carlos, who is the Duke of Parma. His children Luisa and Cecilia bear the title of Princess of Bourbon-Parma/Prinses de Bourbon de Parme. She also has another brother, Jaime, who is the Count of Bardi. His wife holds the title of Countess of Bardi, so I guess that means their child will bear a royal title.

As principessa has correctly stated, Princess Margarita's children are Julia and Paola ten Cate, so I think that grandchildren of Irene and Carlos Hugo's can only bear royal titles if they are children of their sons. (e.g. Princesses Luisa and Cecilia.) :flowers:

As with her brother Jaime, Princess Carolina' s child (to be expected)is rumoured to be a girl

Isn't it a littly early to know the sex? I believed her to be in her early pregnancy months, or am i wrong?
