Princess Margarita and husband Tjalling ten Cate accompanied Princess Beatrix to the premiere of the film "Banker of the Resistance" in Amsterdam today, March 5:

For crying out loud, they have been divorced for 11 years and only married for 5! There are no children from the marriage.

The attorney says that the princess lied about her assets as she was recently able to buy a villa worth 1.7 million euros.

I hope he doesn't get a cent.

It looks like the same place where has lived for a few years.. It was extensively renovated in 2011 for the princess and her family. The building is located on the Horsten Estate where until recently the King, Queen and family have been living, as well as princes Pieter-Christiaan and Floris & their families.

The princess and her husband bought a new place in July 2018: https://www.royalty-online.nl/monarchie/bourbon/margarita-verlaat-de-horsten/. The price was supposedly 1,65 million Euros and the couple was able to purchase it without a mortgage.

Note that her ex-husband tried to put a distraint (beslaglegging) on the new house in november 2018 because he claims he is entitled to 10 years of alimony. Two weeks ago his lawyer drew attention to the fact that the princess is wearing expensive rings of nearly 10.000 euros, from the jewelry collections that she designed.

It looks expensive for a modest building and it does not look as a very old farmhouse either. But living at a nature reserve in a densely populated metropolitan area comes with a prize tag. Even for such a modest house.

Tjalling ten Cate, lawyer at De Nederlandsche Bank (the Dutch central bank) and partner in Juno Investments probably is not too pauvre either. And as designer of her own jewels and partner of Röell Jewellery the princess wears jewels for fabricage costs only, I think.

And when mama Irene der Nederlanden, van Oranje-Nassau, van Lippe-Biesterfeld foots the 1,6 million purchase for her eldest daughter, her ex-husband still has nothing to lay his hands on.

The friend in the photo is Addy van den Krommenacker. He designed several outfits for Pss Irene, Pss Margarita and the gorgeous wedding dress of Pss Carolina.

Princess Margarita designed two orange vases for Royal Leerdam Crystal.

The glassmaker has the tradition of bringing orange vases on the market on special occassions. The two vases of the Princess are meant to celebrate 75 years of freedom, which for the south came in 1944 and for the north in 1945.

They added a new photo of the princess on their website:

Fourteen years after their divorce, Edwin de Roy van Zuydewijn, ex-husband of Pss Margarita, will start a new lawsuit against the princess to ask for partner alimentation. In 2006 a judge ruled that he was entitled to 5500 euros a month, but the princess did not have to pay as she did not have the money. In 2018 he made another attempt, which was not successful.

Princess Margarita has been proposed for the fontion of 'commissioner' - or member of the supervisory board of porcelein factory Royal Delft, which was founded in 1653. The chairman of the boards cites the broad knowledge of the princess about design, she designed for example glass vases for Royal Leerdam Crystal - which falls under the Royal Delft group.

The [princess will be added to the board and will not replace an existing member. In september the nomination will be decided during a stock holders meeting.

Another member of the board is the 27 y/o Jean-Paul Honegger, grandson of John Fentener van Vlissingen - one of the richest people of the country. Also very talented without a doubt and also a member of the board solely due to his own great merits.

Princess Margarita wish Happy Mother’s Day!

"“Happy Mothers Day. A day where we celebrate all women who are mother, stepmother, bonus mothers, women who want to become a mother, women who are someone else's mother, women who miss their mother, men who fulfill the place of a mother. Today we celebrate mothers in all shapes and sizes.”

Margarita was interviewed by (sensationalist newspaper) de Telegraaf. She talked among others about her failed marriage with Edwin de Roy van Zuydewijn. She explains that the only time she sees him is whenever he starts another court case against her. She also states that he himself should do the work to be happy again in the future just like she did instead of looking back. She also talked about how delusional he was during their marriage.

See a description by royalblog (in Dutch).

As was to be expected Edwin hit back by stating that unlike her he is working (as a handy man) and that he was duped by the royal family and all the state machinery, so that this is the best he can do. He continues to explain that Margarita's earlier defense that she didn't have a penny was nonsense as evidenced by the subsequent buying of a 2 million euro estate.

See royalblog for a summary of his response.
