In the article the pronouns he and his are used instead of she and her. Mafalda was a princess and a lady.

The article is originally written in Italian; if you read it in Italian, you can see that the feminine pronouns are correctly used.
But there is one point where the article is wrong: the Princess died in 1944, thus she passed away 76 years ago, not 77 (as stated in the last line of the article).
