no pix from the wed ? We could follow the whole ceremony, here in Italy, on Sky 24 TV , she was so beautiful, she will be a real Princess, King Umberto II would have liked her so much, she has charm and elegance, I loved him , too, he looked so young and happy.

Lukasz wrote at the FIRMB:
"He had a motorbike accident when going to his work in Geneva. His arm and leg are broken and he stays in hosptal but his life is not in danger."
So I guess EF will be fine :)

I believe she's scheduled to deliver the baby by Caesarian-section on the 21st of this month. The baby will be born in Geneva rather than in Rome as had been planned.

Princess Clotilde of Savoy has given birth yesterday in Genève at 19:32 to a baby girl, who has been given the name, according to the Corriere della Serra, Vittoria (in honour of her grand-father Vittorio-Emmanuele) Cristina Adelaide Chiara Maria.

Congratulations to the couple! More girl power in royal births this year!
The new baby girl has some beautiful middle names in Adelaide Chiara.
Is there a historical significance to the middle names as well as the first name being for her paternal grandfather?

Congratulations to the new parents!
From HELLO!
29 DECEMBER 2003
Emmanuel Filiberto of Italy and his wife of three months, French actress Clotilde Courau, are celebrating the birth of a daughter, the family said in a statement on Monday.
The couple welcomed the little girl, reportedly named Maria Cristina, in Geneva early on Sunday evening.
A six months' pregnant Clotilde wed Emmanuel, who is the grandson of the last king of Italy, in Rome on September 25.
More than 1,200 guests attended the nuptials at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, with notable figures such as designer Pierre Cardin and rock star Johnny Hallyday among the invitees and Prince Albert of Monaco acting as best man.

Maria Cristina was the supposed name, but all the italian newpapers are saying Vittoria.

the new born of Savoia has got the name of Cristina , as P Cristina Belgioioso, her ancestor, and Queen Adelaide, the wife of our 1st King of Italy, King Vittorio Emanuele II, though she was already dead in 1860, when he became King, so she was only Queen of Piemonte , I think she was the sister of the Emperor of France.

Wife of Italian prince has baby daughter
Mon Dec 29,10:23 AM ET
ROME (AFP) - The grandson of the last king of Italy, Emmanuele Filiberto, and his French-born wife, Clotilde Courau, have become parents to a baby girl, the family said in a statement.
The daughter, born at 18:32 GMT in Geneva on Sunday, was named Vittoria Cristina Adelaide Chiara Maria.
Filiberto and Courau, a 31-year-old actress, were married in Rome on September 25.
In March, the prince swore loyalty to the Italian Republic under a new law which allowed descendants of former king Victor Emmanuele II to return to Italy after decades of exile.

Is Vittoria's situation (title-wise) like that of Prince Pavlos and Princess Marie-Chantal's children's situation in that neither Princes have countries to rule over (once they succeed their fathers)? In Pavlos and Marie-Chantal's situation all their children were given titles: Princess Maria Olympia, Prince Konstantine, Prince Achilleas-Andreas. So would that make Vittoria a Princess, too, (if not a future Queen).
