Right!I really can't understand him! He doesn't need money, but money seems to be never enough for them! They always give the impression that they want to make more and more money, no matters how! Do you remember that, as soon as they were allowed to come to Italy, EF was hired and well paid, of course, for the Tv commercial of pickle food?

One of the great problems of Savoy has always been the lack of a "PR manager", as all Royal families have...
The members of the "Council" of VE and EF are usually not prepared for a so important task...
They are all well educated people but the majority of them have no experience in PR management, which for a family with a public life is one of the most important thing in the age of globalisation!
This is the reason why both father and son do mistakes on TV and take part in shows, which are not to be considerer Royal!

I share your views on the lack of PR, but we can all see a bigger problem behind that: a deep lack of ethics, values and substance.
I am not sure that a professional PR, as good as he/she maybe, would be effective in making up for such a gap....
For instance, do you think that an hairdresser could really turn a really ugly person into Mr/Miss Universe? I'd rather call him Harry Potter....

As much as I'd be glued to the television to watch a member of a royal family (much less the heir to the throne) compete on a 'Dancing with the Stars'-type program, I agree that it is most undignified of them to do so! It smacks of D-list celebrity/royalty antics. Remember "Love Is in the Heir" (2004) staring Alleged Iranian Princess Ann Claire Van Shaick Pahlavi?

Indeed Debbies, the Savoys have many many other problems! but somebody who tells you what to do/say at the right moment is important too. Nobody is perfect, they could at least try to better a bit, but no person of their staff tells them anything! The members of their "Court" are there only to enjoy the "privileges" to be "close to the Prince", they do not do anything else!
Many years ago there were some people trying to give suggestions to the Princes, but of course, they did not hear theit advice...
I do not see any future for our Royal House, thanks God they will never reign on our Country!!!

Here's an article in English about Emanuele's plans for the TV-show:
Prince who can't dance to star in Italy's 'Strictly
Quote:
"I don't know how to dance," he said. "I've been learning recently with an exceptional master.
I'm exhausted but I'm also having a lot of fun." While he expected criticism from monarchists
for his decision to take part in the show, he said: "I intend to live in our times. We are practically
in the year 2010. I have a family with two children to maintain – I've worked since I was 19
and no one has given me anything."

So his "teacher" is Natalia Titova, who's currently shacking up with the Olympic gold medalist Massimiliano Rosolino, the one who was caught by the razzis while he was flirting with Charlene Wittstock in Rome a couple of years ago.
Here's an official Christmas photo of Emanuele Filiberto with Clotilde and daughters:

This is a family with a fondness for denim. That said, it's a great pic - Christmas Card Family Photo

I can hardly imagine that anyone would announce how much money
he'll get, least of all Prince Emanuele himself Besides that I'm quite
sure that the honoraria are graduated and that they depend on your
popularity and position.
As far as it concerns the wonderful Christmas card ( thanks a lot for
that, Tosca ) I like the choice for denim, Warren, but I'm
not too excited about the dance dress
I guess the press coverage will focus on pics like the following ones,
they offer the best stories - I know that from the German version of
the show as well
** Pic 1 ** Pic 2 **

All the competitors will earn about 100.000 Euros ( about 134.000 $), except EF and the Olympic Medalist Valentina Vezzali, the woman in the pics Iceflower has posted!
EF and Vezzali will earn much more money, but we don't know how much yet.
I have to say that many Italians can't wait to see EF in the show tonight, only because they want to laugh at him.
