Ooops, a senior moment, sorry! This show how interested in politics I am...
The King was a real gentleman, but that's the past. EF is an Italian citizen, so he enjoys the same rights like any other Italian citizen. Does he want to enter politics? It's perfectly legal, since now for the Law he is "il Signor Emanuele Savoia".
I meant by my previous post, that if I were in his shoes, I would find it humiliating (for my own family history - forget about his father's judicial accidents - and traditions)to obey a commoner, no matter how clever at making his own fortune is. Don't get me wrong: I do not intend to insult Berlusconi. I meant it as just a matter of pride.

Yes, I agree with you; I meant that if he presents himself as the Heir to the Italian Throne, his entering in politic is a betrayal of his Family, in particular if he obeys "His Majesty Silvio" Berlusconi. But, since he is not a member of the Italian Royal Family, I think he can kneel down before and obey whoever he wants.
I would have to object if Prince Amedeo or Prince Aimone would run in politic...

Poor King Umberto!
Don't worry, I think Aimone is smart enough to stay away from Italian politics, and Amedeo has apparently shown no interest in politics. I love to listen to him when he talks about his family history. I didn't know he was abducted by the Nazi's and sent to a concentration camp with his mother when he was a baby! He's always shown more respect for the King than any other member of the Savoy family ever did.
Let's pass over his passion for the ladies!

This morning Prince Emanuele Filiberto and Princess Clotilde have gone to L' Aquila, the city hit by last Monday's earthquake to visit a field hospital and some tent camps in order to show their solidarity with the people affected by the quake. EF said he feels devastated but at the same time he's proud of all the Italians that are demostating to be united and are being showing their solidaity and brotherhood with each other, which makes him proud to be Italian. Prince Emauele and Prince Clotide of Savoy are really nice to help those in need after the terrible earthquake.Prince Emauele is not making his chances any better to be heir to the Italian throne by being on a dance show and espically not being involved in politics either.

It's indeed a nice gesture to support the people after that
terrible tragedy...

by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, Uzbekistan's representative to UNESCO,
to launch the charity fund 'Uzbekistan 2020' at the Museum of Modern

The lady in pic no 2 looks like Princess Helen of Yugoslavia.
Her mother, Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, is Prince Vittorio Emanuele's sister.

I agree...but perhaps the Prince realizes deep inside that the Savoy chances of restoring the monarchy to Italy are slim and none.
He seems like a fun and likeable young man and his wife is very sweet. I am mystified about what type of marriage they have, it seems to be very...open.
And I love it that they are helping earthquake victims.

I have to agree with your statement CaliforniaDreamin. At this point in time, I believe the only thing that the prince can do is to try and repair some of the damage his father's behavior has done to the Savoy family. He does appear to be a friendly individual.

The caption "Emanuele Filiberto con Casini" sounds hilarious in Italian!
It literally transaltes EF in trouble, or in a mess..., but also in "dens of vice"...
