Lexi,
Of course, I read many sources (tens). Data of English Wikipedia are the most negative for Russia. Other sources give the attitude of losses of Russia to losses of Japan as 1:2. I have not found any source where losses of Russia would be more than losses of Japan.
Really do you think, that I read only one English Wikipedia?

Boris

Lexi and Countess,
Why you do not wish to believe (to recognize), that military losses of the won Japan were twice more than military losses of the lost Russia?
I shall remind you, that in WWII the military losses of the won USSR were seven times more, than military losses of the lost Germany! By the way, in WWI the losses of Russia and Germany were approximately equal - to a question on quality of Nicholas's military management …

Nicholas I think was first of all to give the people more support for the monarchy and to gain glory for his name.
