A bride for Alexei

I think Alexei would have still been under the domineering influence of his mother and Alix would have seen any future wife as a threat to her control over the way the household was run, along with any power over the Russian government. She would have put up a fight just to have any of her girls married off, much less her only son.

But Alix would have had to see Alexei marry someday, because how else would he perpetuate the Romanov dynasty? I suspect that had he lived to maturity, he would have married despite his mother's wishes if she was opposed to his choice.

Hehe, imagine the catfights between Alexei's choice and his mother if there was a dislike between the two? :)
