Imperial Family of Iran - History

Hey there! Do you have any thoughts about past
shahs of persia? Which ones do you remember the most and have interest in?

Shahs that has caught my attention are:

In the pre-islamic era:

Achamenian dynasty:
Cyrus the great (Kurosh). Often referred to. He is known for a lot of good things. Established many human rights.

Darius the great (Dariush). Mentioned in the bible as someone who gave freedom of belief to the jews.

Sassanian dynasty:
King Khosro (Khosro). Believed and encouraged arts. Supported Court musicians which laid a foundation for the persian traditional/classical music.

Islamic era:
Abbasid dynasty:
Shah Abbas. I associate him with having built some of the greatest places in Esfahan, Iran.

Shah Abbas was a member of the Safavid Dynasty which took over Persia around 1500. the Abbasids ruled from Baghdad, commencing c. 750 and were overthrown by the Mongols in the 1250s

I'm sorry. I should have looked that up, of course. Thanks for correcting.
I just assumed Abbasid derived from the name Abbas. Clumsy of me

Titles and names

Does anyone know where the name Pahlavi comes from? As I understood Reza Khan took the name when becoming shah.

And also who can get the title Shahanshah (king of kings)?
