Alexis celebrated his 18th birthday just this past December (2009).
Royalty author Marlene Koenig has posted a summary of this sad event along with a picture of the young prince on her blog - Royal Musings: Alexis killed on same street as his grandfather

Here are some photographs of Alexis in N et R. He was the second son of Archduchess Sophie of Austria and Prince Mariano Hugo of Windisch-Graetz.

Yes, it is profoundly sad. To lose a child is tragedy, but his parents gave life to others by organ donation despite their grief.

I once read that prince Mariano Hugo has a charge in the papal court, but just in one source of no great attendibility. Do someone know something about that?

As far as I remember, he is Gentiluomo di Sua Santità (Gentleman of His Holiness).

Article in italian with a couple of pictures of the funeral:
Sant’ Angelo d’Alife(Ce)- Svoltosi Funerale Principe Alexis Windisch-Graetz: viva partecipazione e grande commozione della cittadinanza «
The coffin has been escorted by the friends and the members of the motorbike club joined by Alexis, obviously by motorbike.
A requiem Mass has been celebrated yesterday morning in Sant'Angelo d'Alife, where his family lives; today at 12am another requiem Mass will be performed in the church of Santa Maria in Camposanto Teutonico in Vatican, Rome, and the youg Prince will be buried in the family grave in the German Cemetery in Vatican.

Princess Vittoria zu Windisch-Graetz attended this night "I soliti ignoti" game show (the italian version of "Identity" game show), broadcasted on RaiUno; she attended as impostor, and was one of the impostors correctly guessed by the player.

truly sad, for the family to loose their son, lets hope and pray for his soul. Death is a wonderful thing when you are in God's grace, what better place to be than in the constant presence of God? RIP
