it could be possible that margherita and ernst are dating, she does go for tall dark guys and she was a guest at charlotte's 18th b-day party, so they have met eachother, when i found out she was at the party, i was a bit worried she would get her claws on andrea because she is so beautiful and stylish,

EA jr's girlfriend is named Margherita Maccapani, but she's known worldwide as Margherita Missoni. She's Ottavio Missoni's ( the fashion designer )granddaughhter. Missoni is her mother Angela's maiden name.

hmm, there are lots of new pics of her at wireimage.com but nothing with ernstie! :( i haven't found anything with both of them yet. in case anyone is interested, though, she's very popular at The Fashion Spot forums. most of the members of the Fashion Spot agree she is beautiful and has a fabulous style sense. here is the link to her thread and a random pic of her from style.com:

Hi Louis! According to British society magazine Tatler, Ernst is known to be an excellent lover. That may be a factor (not that I have any idea how they got the info)...:p

Well, maybe discussions in this thread should be confined to the topic of his sons. We disagree about Ernst, I think. I acknowledge he's insane, but I still like him. He loves Caro and he loves his family, so I forgive him for his character flaws. It's also good he hasn't had any outbursts recently. Maybe Caro convinced him to get on some medication!
But back to discussion about Ernst Jr. and Chris............. Does anyone know where Christian was at the funeral? I understand he was not in the crowd of principal mourners, but he must have been at the funeral. I think someone said something about him escorting Antoinette into the cathedral?
After helping Antoinette, he probably sat in a front row place, but not up above the altar like the principal mourners.

He sat next to Andrea, Pierre, Charlotte and Ernetsie if I'm not mistaken, while Antoinette was sitting next or behind Caro, Albert and Steph...

No, I might be wrong but I don't think he was next to Ernstie at the funeral. He was in the same row as them at the memorial service on enthronement day, but he wasn't in their row at the funeral. Antoinette was behind Caro, Steph and Albert at the funeral. Her grandchildren were behind Ernstie and the Casriaghi Trio. Christian was somewhere else.

Hanover auction
Articla in German about the Hanover sale
Can please someone give a summary.
Quote:

Photo caption
There was a similar picture in today's Sydney Morning Herald. The caption in the SMH said "A Sotheby's employee arranges suits of armour at Marienburg Castle near Hanover, in northern Germany. The auction house will next month hold a sale of more than 20,000 heirlooms of the Royal House of Hanover, including arms, furniture, clocks, silver, textiles, paintings and porcelain."
...........
In a similar situation to the Thurn und Taxis Princely Family and the Grand Ducal House of Baden, after WWI and WWII (and 1866 in Hanover's case), all the private possessions of the families were removed from their State palaces (and Eastern estates) to the family seats. Just as St Emmerams in Regensburg was "packed to the rafters "with objet, so was the Baden Schloss, and Marienburg. At the appropriate time, these non-income producing assets are being liquidated. It also allows them to swing a cat.

I was just reading that the Hanover boys have stumbled into trouble during their auction and authorities are trying to determine ownership of some firearms (and considering filing criminal charges for illegal possession of weapons).

Ernst August's family's weapons may be illegal
30 September 2005
HANOVER, GERMANY - The family of troubled Prince Ernst August of Hanover may face illegal gun possession charges after police discovered that 37 items in the family collection of muskets, pistols and rifles were still in working order.
Prosecutor Thomas Klinge said Friday police scientists were still checking the weapons, which are listed in an online Sotheby's catalogue for an 11-day antique auction starting next week at the prince's fairytale Marienburg castle south of Hanover in Germany.
Public viewing of 20,000 items including cannons and suits of armour being sold off by the Royal House of Hanover began Friday.

Gossips! Gossips!
Hi! So I've been nosing around the net (as usual), and apparently there is a feud going on in the Hanover family about that sale. The following article reports comments from an Hanover Prince (plus some nasty remarks about Ernst-August, apparently). BUT, it's in German.
Can someone summarise it please, I'm dying to know what's going on :p .
Quote:

From Nachrichten
PS: apparently the police has seized 25 weapons from for lack of licence (Spanish source, to be confirmed).

Courtesy of the Babel translater and my own paraphrasing:
Princely controversy in the House of Hanover.
Prince Heinrich of Hanover called for a stop to the Marienburg auction of 20,000 art treasures. He accuses his brother Prince Ernst August of dissipating the family tradition. "My brother came under the influence of alcohol and into the arms of dubious art dealers." He wonders if Ernst August's goal is to sell everything. "Ernst August became very difficult for some years." He thinks EA wants to make a "radical impact" and then enjoy "a beautiful life abroad." The family has adjusted to it, "that it to GAU come must, because it did not stop whether that fights were or other stories".
I don't understand the last sentence, and Sothebys won't be too impressed at being referred to as "dubious art dealers." I guess there has been a falling out between the two brothers!

To be honest, I'm not sure if Heinrich said it exactly like that. And btw all I knew about the auction is that Christian And Ernstie jr. organized it - plus Ernstie jr. has the repsonsibility because he inherited this fortune from his dad.

I knew I could count on you Warren! Thank you. And for Heinrich information, it's EA sons who decided to make the sale (since they are now the legal owners) with only the approval of their dad. Whether they had been binge drinking before making this decision is unclear.

Maybe he was referring to the price fixing scandal...
(this family kills me, gosh I love them :p )

I am not too sure why the boys felt the urge to have this garage sale... although it's pretty obvious that EA gave them the property to avoid inheritance tax. Perhaps EA left them strapped for cash, if he kept most of the liquid assets for himself.

i first heard of this auction months ago in the news, the reporter said EA senior has debts to pay and needs to raise i think 30 or 50 million,
i didn't know the money was going to his kids, is it possible he could be using the boys as a loop hole to avoid the tax or other problems that could surface due to the money going directly to him
