Now is different. See Princess Charlene of Monaco. 10 years of marriage plus previous life in france ... still no French

In previous centuries also there were Kings or Queens who never managed to learn language of the country they were supposed to reign.

You are right. It has happened. I don't know if I'm wrong but the first Hannover born to rule UK never learned English

In this context I remember the last empress of russia being from germany/Great Britain and communicated all her life with Nikolaus in english or german.I think she and Anne- Marie aren ' t fluent in russish or greek the way their husbands are.
I think that when Niko and Tatjana started to date she was of course not able to speak greek so they continued to communicate in englisch until today and this might be a reason she doesn,' t bother to learn greek. It' s IMO very unlikely that Niko decided to speak greek quasi over night when they moved to Greece to teach Tatiana, I even could imagine that his greek is still not as fluent as his father' s.

We don't know if she is able to talk Greek in her everyday life. That she choose not to give Interview in Greek is because she might not be able to fully express herself.
By her curriculum she should be multilingual. Out of English she should talk spanish but i think also german or French or both as she spent many years in Switzerland.

I've always wondered why they never adopted any children, they could have given some unfortunate kids a great life.

Maybe they don't have parental instinct?

I have no knowledge about whether this particular couple have considered having/adopting children, but adoption, with the exception of adoption of patrilineal relatives, appears to still be looked down on in European royal and noble circles.
