Greek Royal Family current events & pictures 2: February 2016 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Ivi Macris of the Greek Royal House:

"The Queen has no intention of leaving Athens."

On Pavlos & Chantal's move to Athens:

"I can confirm that these rumors are completely false. I hope they spend more time together while in Athens, but that's about it."

As expected, nothing's surprising here.

No real surprise at all which leaves the Queen ,Prince Nicholas and Princess Titania as the only family members living in Greece.

Statement from the Greek Royal Family's Office (as shared by Andreas Megos)

In recent days, following the funeral of King Constantine, rumours have been circulating that Crown Prince Pavlos and his family are planning to move from New York and settle in Athens.
The Greek Royal Family, in a statement issued by their Office categorically denies these rumours.

"These rumours are completely false. This is a vulnerable time for the Queen and her family and they will be spending more time together while in Athens, but that is all.

The statement also addressed rumours that Queen Anne-Marie plans to leave Greece by returning to her native Denmark after being widowed.

"The Queen has no intention of leaving Athens

From the reliable news source that is the Daily Mail ?
Pavlos and Marie-Chantal are NOT moving to Greece but plan to spend more time in Athens to support Anne-Marie (who is staying in the country). Protothema posted pretty much the same article.

The Queen is staying in Greece.

:previous: That is to be expected and makes perfect sense.

Does anyone have any link about the GRF official site, when they publish news and press releases?
I have only this one but it is not updated since 2016.
https://www.greekroyalfamily.gr/en.html

People post press releases but where did they find them?

Thanks

The Royal House of Greece has not updated its official website for years. The website is very outdated.
The royal house did not even after the death of King Constantine II make updates to the site.
I'm sorry that the official GRF website is practically abandoned.

I read it for the first time, in Billed Bladet, it is a Danish magazine, it said that they had contacted the office of King Constantine, and a representative of office had told it to the medio. Later I have seen in other Greek and British media that they had the same statements. I imagine that they have received a statement from the Office signed by Ivi Macris, or the statement has been sent to an agency and it has been distributed

I really liked these photos, seeing Queen Anna Maria accompanied by her son, Prince Filippos and Princess Nina celebrating Orthodox Easter. King Constantine and Queen Anna Maria always attended all the events of the Orthodox Easter in Spetses or anywhere else in Greece. However, I am disappointed with Prince Pavlos, I think it is a good time to celebrate Easter in Greece with his mother and family, all in Greece, not in New York.Constantine, Aristides and Olympia live in London, Athens is closer than New York....

I really liked seeing Prince Philippos and Princess Nina together with Queen Anna Maria, at such special parties for the Greeks. I applaud that they wanted to be with Anna Maria during this time, bravo for them. I think it would have been a good time for the family to gather and accompany the Queen at Easter, for King Constantine and the Queen, Easter was very special.

Prince Philippos with the Greek volunteer organization, AXION HELLAs, in Halki . His brother Prince Nikolaos is one of the directors of this organization that brings medical, ophthalmological, dental, educational assistance, ... to the most remote islands of Greece

I want to thank the Facebook group" the greek royal family " by publishing this news, it made me very happy, Filippos was born in London, but he is very Greek and he appreciated his father very much, for this reason I liked seeing him in this organization of volunteers

Wonder whether there is something going on or whether they all just spend some holidays in Denmark..
Maybe a baptism, a wedding...
And I' m again a little concerned about P+N....

:previous:I love these family events. I like to see Princess Alexia and Carlos....Matthew's brother is just like him, they look alike

Why? Because they didn't attend?
Pavlos and MC did not attend, Tatiana neither.
They are fully adults they have other obligations also.

Or maybe they just don't enjoy the get-togethers all that much. Hanging out at a festival in Denmark with your cousins and in-laws isn't everyone's cup of tea, even if they all like each other and get along fine.

Carlos is starting to age... but it's lovely to see the cousins together at this festival taking place at Michael( and Alexandra)'s castle.

Crown Prince Pavlos and Prince Nikolaos have been interviewed by Sofia Papaioannou for "365 moments", the interview will be broadcast next Monday at 23:00 on ERTNEWS.

Andreas Megos (when will he be finally named their official spokesperson!?) shared a video and photos of the interview.

I have read about it in the Greek press this morning, and I have read a very interesting article that said that it mainly focuses on the family passport...on the return of the passport to the family, It would be return the passport to the late King (it was an article announcing it for Monday at the EPT). I have recalled that in April, a New Democracy politician raised a question in parliament to the Vice President of the government, in which he proposed that he repeal the law(1995) that withdrew the King's passport, since this had been a political law of the Greek left... The politician defended the unfairness of that law, since the King was born in Greece, did his military service, was an Olympian, and Head of State, and had participated in the campaign to obtain the candidacy of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004... The vice president replied that he agreed with his statements and that in the future this could be dealt with in parliament (I think it will never deal with it because Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in favor of that 1995 law , he considers himself a Venizilista, his father did not think so) . I do not know when the interview was recorded, but I think it was recorded between April and May, and therefore it is related to this information about the petition to repeal that law. In the interview, I would have liked Queen Anne Marie and princess Alexia to have been there, because they also has a lot to talk about on this , Alexia was born in Greece and was the Crown Princess. She should have been there because this topic also affected her. ...and Queen Anne-Marie I admit that the program is not one of the most watched in Greece but I have seen reports by Sofia Papaioannou, and they are very good.
