Welcome to the world, Princess Jacinthe Elisabeth-Charlotte Marie of France!

https://www.facebook.com/21873154816...type=3&theater

Born yesterday in Dreux.

Congratulations to the parents!

I wonder after whom this first name? After Saint Jacinta Marto?

Wonderful news and a rather unexpected name.

I suppose Elisabeth-Charlotte may be after the Elisabeth-Charlotte of the Pfaltz?

Beautiful and unusual name, but steeped in Royal French history. My first thought too, is that she is named Elisabeth-Charlotte after the Duke d'Orleans-Prince Regent's daughter.

Congratulations to the family!
Interesting name indeed. Marie-Charlotte is more predictable though I would love to know the story behind Jacinthe (which I much prefer from the English Jacinta).

I like it, especially her fist name! A hyphenated name as middle name is a little unusual, so it indeed must be after someone with that hyphenated name.

Thanks. The article says that Jacinthe was chosen because it is not only a beautiful name but also a beautiful flower from the same family of the Lys, the symbol of the Bourbons. The names Elizabeth-Charlotte refer to Liselotte, Prinzessin von der Pfalz, the wife of Philippe, Duc d'Orléans, brother of Louis XIV, Roi de France.

Context of recent canonization of Jacinta Marto (and her brother Francisco) was also important, according to the text; so at least partly my suggestion was right.

Wow, that is early indeed. I wonder why the christening took place now - though in some ways it's a good idea of releasing first and christening photos all in one. I'm sure something would have been announced otherwise so I'm hoping that little Jacinthe is healthy.
Jacinthe is a beautiful baby and the Vendomes are a lovely little - or quite big now - family. Love that Antoinette has dressed up in a little headdress!

The Duke and Duchess of Vendôme: June 2009-

For those who are interested in religion, it’s worth reading up about the story of Saint Jacinta and her siblings, who came from a Portuguese hamlet near Fátima. They claimed to see visions of angels though Saint Jacinta very tragically died during the international influenza epidemic after WWI in 1920 at the age of 10.

For those who read French the comments are NOT very complimentary due to the fact that apparently Prince Luiz belongs to a very right wing party !
