The dispute in the House Bourbon-Two Sicilies is not thát very complicated. I give it a try: in 1960 the last undisputed Head of the House died without surviving male issue. The most senior males related to the last undisputed claimant in 1960 were:

1 - [-]Prince Carlo (1870-1949)[/-]
Brother of the last Duke. In 1960 he was already dead. One son.

2 - Prince Alfonso (1901-1964)
The son to Nr 1. Nephew of the last Duke.

3 - [-]Prince Gennaro (1882-1944) [/-]
Brother to the last Duke. In 1960 he was already dead. No issue.

4 - Prince Ranieri (1883-1973)
Brother to the last Duke.

What was the problem with Prince Alfonso? In 1901 his father, Prince Carlo, married Doña María de las Mercedes, Infanta de España, Princess of Asturias. Heiress to the throne of Spain. Prince Alfonso was their son. When his father Prince Carlo married his mother, he had to renounce his rights in the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.

When the Duke of Calabria died in 1960, the logic way of thinking was:

The son to Nr 1. No dynast because his father renounced his rights.

4 - Prince Ranieri (1883-1973)
Brother to the last Duke.

Despite this logic, Prince Alfonso still saw himself as the rightful head of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. Wasn't he the most senior male agnate? He claimed his father only had to renounce his rights in the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies as his fiancée, then the Princess of Asturias, was the Heiress to the throne of Spain. With the birth of her brother, the later King Alfonso XIII, this provision was no longer needed. So the "enforced" renouncation was repealed in his eye. The second argument: his uncle Prince Ranieri made an undynastical marriage with Maria Karolina Countess Zamoskya. This marriage did not meet the requirements of the House and therefore Prince Ranieri lost his place in the line of succession.

It is generally assumed that the royal houses of Europe do not go along with the claim of the "Spanish" Bourbon-Two Sicilies (now represented by Prince Pedro and Sofía Landaluce - picture) and support the claim of the "Italian" Bourbon-Two Sicilies (now Prince Carlo and Camilla Crociani - picture).

Prince François of Orleans and his wife Princess Theresa presented their first child Prince Philippe during a photo session in Palma de Mallorca on July 17. Philippe Ludovic Marie Anselm Michel Hildebrand was born in Palma de Mallorca on May 5, 2017.

Thanks for the article. Nice to get some more information. The godmother of the new prince is Luna de Medina, daughter of Pss Gloria of Orleans-Braganca. The godfatehr is Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, a childhood friend of Pss Theresa. He could not attend the baptism and was represented by Prince Henry de Merode.

Count Jean de Sabran Ponthèves , former owner of the Castle of Ansouis and brother of SAR la Duchesse d' Orléans passed away on November 17 th 2017 in Belgium.
He married Marie Isabelle Decazes and had 4 girls
