Cherie Blair will visit the Holy Father in the next few days. She's currently in Turin and she will be the first British Official to visit His Holiness in the Vatican.
This is according to 'The Daily Mail'.

For the ones who are interested, here is the first Encyclical Letter of the Pope Benedictus (I highly recomend the lecture of it, to Catholics and no Catholics, since it is said this is one of the best Encyclicals of all time):
"God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” ( 1 Jn 4:16).".

Well, she's classed as one apparantly. When I posted that the newspapers were saying she'd meet him in the next few days - about 3 weeks has passed and she still hasn't been - Laura Bush has though.

It seems I have to apologise to Mrs B. The audience was a suprise one. His Holiness heard she was in the Vatican and invited her for a private audience so she didn't have time to change.

Even though it was a surprise, she still would have had time to change. According to this article she exercised the "privilege du blanc" even though she is not a Queen. That's pretty offensive. She has worn black in the past (apparently), so why not now? Anyway, the article could be wrong since it mentions Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte as one of the monarchs who can wear white, and she is no longer with us.
