Here's a video from the Prayer Service for Lebanon at St Peters. The Pope appeared to be in pain I noticed he had difficulty walking in the crypt.

The Pope was admitted to hospital in Rome today and will undergo surgery for colon stenosis with diverticula.

Earlier the Pope had welcomed a group of Slovak Pilgrims and blessed their icon of Our Lady of Klokočov.

I really hope all goes well, surgery at his age is always risky.

The Pope is in a stable condition as per the Vatican

Quote:
Pope Francis is in good general condition, awake and breathing on his own.

Surgery for diverticular stenosis, which took place on the afternoon of July 4, included a left hemicolectomy and lasted three hours.

You are expected to stay in the hospital for seven days, unless you have any complications.

Matteo Bruni, Director of the Press Office of the Holy See

Pope Francis will remain in hospital until Sunday or Monday under observation and the surgery was more complicated than expected .

A tumour has been ruled out.
