It appears that today, the pope has dissolved the leadership of the Knights of Malta and elected a provisional government ahead of the election of a new grand master.

A new grand master is expected to be elected in March.

Under the new constitution, it removes the nobility rule as well as the tradition of grand masters being elected for life.
